Anzac Day services across Isaac Towns across Isaac from St Lawrence to Clermont will hold dawn and morning services to commemorate Anzac Day on April 25.

This year marks the 102nd anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

“These troops included boys, men and women from our rural areas and local towns including Clermont, Nebo, Carmila and St Lawrence.

Mayor Anne Baker said Anzac Day is one of Isaac’s and the nation’s, most important commemorative occasions.

“They stood side by side to fight for our freedom and left us with a powerful legacy.”

“I’m looking forward to attending the Moranbah dawn service and Middlemount morning service this year,” she said. “In 2017 we will reflect on the significant Western Front battles of the Flanders Offensive and the SinaiPalestine campaign.
