Graziers gather to celebrate their best in Clermont Champion stock, inspirational chats about resilience and the celebration of agricultural's best in Isaac was the true flavour at the Clermont Saleyards.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Hoch and Wilkinson 5th annual Clermont Beef Expo and Trade Display to see the finest cattle on show. An impressive yarding of 1010 head of prime and store cattle were presented given the dry season. The Finger Family from Hillview Station took home the Grand Champion Exhibition and the Champion Pen of Prime for the second year in a row. Isaac Regional Council Mayor, who attended the event, praised organisers and all winners of the exhibitions on a job well done. “Council was proud to support the Clermont Beef Expo and Trade Display,” Mayor Baker said. “Agriculture plays a vital part in Isaac’s economy and I was thrilled to be at the expo and celebrate this industry’s achievements. “Graziers in Isaac contribute an amazing $438.5 million from cattle. “The finest of cattle were on show and trade displays this year were also a great highlight.
"I would like to congratulate the event organisers and all the award winners including the Finger family from Hillview who won the Champion Pen of Prime Cattle." Mayor Baker said during the Expo, two inspirational speakers opened up discussion about mental health on the land. “Inspirational speakers Hugh van Cuylenburg from The Resilience Project and Rob Cook opened up discussions about mental health and the role it plays with families on the land,” she said Hoch and Wilkinson 5th annual Clermont Beef Expo and Trade Display winners were: •
The Sally Taylor memorial trophy for Champion Beast of the Expo went to Reklaw Cattle Co with a Droughtmaster Cross Steer that weighed 547kgs which made 281c/kg to make $1538.

The Crop/Grain Assisted Jap Bullock Class was won by the Murphy Family “Tay Glen” Dysart with a pen of Charbray/Droughtmaster Cross Bullocks which weighed 669kgs and reached 278c/kg to return $1860.

In the Store Section Alan and Carly Guilfoyle “Table Downs” Clermont won the Feeder Steer Class with a pen of Charbray Steers that weighed 427kgs to make 284c/kg to come back at $1212.

Jeff and Sarah Cook “Etonvale” Clermont won the 100 day Trade Grain Fed Steer Class with a pen of Santa Steers that weighed 608kgs to make 292c/ kg to return $1776.

The Store Steers was won by the Hoch Family “The Springs” Aramac with a pen of Charolais Cross Steers that weighed 316kgs and made 316c/kg to return $1000.

The Burnett Family “Bendemeer” Clermont won the Crop/Grain Assisted Trade Steer Class with a pen of Bradford Steers that made 270c/kg for 571kgs to make $1541.

Troy and Ann Kinnon “New Corry” Clermont won the Weaner Steer Class with a pen of Simmental Ross Steers they also took out the Champion Pen of Store cattle as well, the steers made 342c/kg for 287kgs to make $983.

The Grass Fed Trade Steer Class was won by Darren and Alice Marks “Winvic” Clermont with a pen of Braford Steers that weighed 538kgs to make 268c/kg to come back at $1443.

The Feeder Heifer Class was won by the Benney Family “Merrigang” Clermont with a pen of Charolais Cross Heifers that weighed 363kgs and made 272c/kg to return $988.

Gordon and Sue Rickertt “Curra” Clermont won the Trade Crop/Grain Assisted Heifer Class with a pen of Brahman Heifers that weighed 418kgs and made 268c/kg to return $1122.

Scott and Alana Moller “Star of Hope” Clermont won the Store Heifer Class with a pen of Droughtmaster Cross Heifers that weighed 340kgs and made 278c/kg to return $946.

The Grass Fed Trade Heifer Class was won by the Fordyce Family “Mabbin” with a pen of Brangus Heifers that weighed 511kgs to make 260c/kg to come back at $1329.

Public Notices Temporary partial closure area extended Centenary Park, Clermont Isaac Regional Council advises Clermont residents that additional fencing will be erected to extend the area of the temporary partial closure at Centenary Park from: Monday November 6
Council will continue to monitor the roost and will provide the community with updates should there be any changes. Little red flying foxes naturally migrate through our region from August to January and are known to establish temporary camps in residential areas. Council advises residents not to disturb or attempt self-dispersal of flying foxes. Residents are reminded that it is against the law to harm or disturb a flying fox roost. Council’s website contains answers to common questions around flying foxes at www.isaac.qld.gov.au/flying-foxes.
The temporary closure is due to a roost of 35,000 little red flying foxes located in the trees on the south bank of Hoods Lagoon (corner of Capella and Lime Streets).

Clermont Hardcourts - Works for Queensland - Regional Hardcourt Renewal/ Repair Program Isaac Regional Council advises the Clermont community that construction on the Clermont Hardcourts Work for Queensland - Regional Hardcourt Renewal/Repair Program has commenced on:
Thursday September 28 to Thursday November 30 6am to 6pm - Weather permitting During this construction period temporary fencing will be erected around the tennis, netball and basketball courts. There will be no public access to the construction site during this period, access will be restricted to contractors only. Council and the contractors are mindful of residents needs and has programmed activities to minimise potential impacts and thanks the community for their cooperation during this construction period. The Regional Hardcourt Renewal/ Repair Program has been funded by the Queensland Government's Works for Queensland program.

Remembrance Day commemorates the signing of the Armistice at 11am, on November 11, 1918 to bring an end to World War One. It is tradition that we pause at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to commemorate Remembrance Day and observe one minute’s silence, giving thanks to the men and women who served their country during war.

Baby Bounce, Storytime, Craft and Rhymetime The Clermont Library runs several weekly children’s sessions. They are a good way to connect with other parents with young children. Rhymetime and Craft This is held from 9.30am to 10am every Tuesday for children up to five years old, where they can sing and dance to nursery rhyme songs. Baby Bounce Come along on Thursday from 9.30am to 10am and is aimed at children aged up to two years. Baby Bounce is a chance for parents to interact with their child through movement, music and song.

CLASS DESCRIPTION Gut and Butt Blast Is a target class that focuses on strengthening and toning the nine core divisions of the abdominal plane, simultaneously blasting the three muscles of the buttocks, hamstrings and quadriceps. This will increase fat metabolism at rest and help slim and tone those problematic areas. Although not targeted, general whole body conditioning applies and while challenging, is more than suitable for any fitness level.
MetaPWR MetaPWR is a fast moving circuit, using moves that need strength, speed and power. All MetaPWR workouts use the entire body,involving your upper and lower body and core muscles. Muscle is metabolically active tissue, so the more muscles you work the more calories you burn. The more calories you burn, the more productive your workouts will be and the faster you will lose fat. Circuit training This is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using highintensity/low-intensity aerobic energy. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise ‘circuit’ is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. It is highly enjoyable and recommended to all levels of fitness. Lets lift This program has been designed to target the eight large muscle groups in a 45 minutes whole body workout. This is achieved through the use of barbell and dumbbell weights. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.
