“AND ALL THE LIVES WE EVER LIVED AND ALL THE LIVES TO BE ARE FULL OF TREES AND CHANGING LEAVES.”
—Virginia Woolf
I’ve been thinking a lot about change lately. How it often surprises us; how it can take us to exciting places; and how, no matter how it makes us feel, we have to embrace it. As I write this, change is indeed in the air. Not just from chilly nights or the changing leaves, but also here at Washington Wedding Day , where I have taken up the mantle of editor-in-chief—a.k.a. dream job. My long and wild writing career has led me here to this incredible publication and the incredibly creative Washington wedding community whose stories I cannot wait to tell.
You’ll find a few of those stories in this Spring/Summer 2026 issue—my first issue at the helm and one brimming with spirited florals (page 56), showstopping accessories for every bride (page 32), scenic spots for saying “I do” (page 52) and real romantic tales from newlywed couples (page 111).
Speaking of traveling to exciting places, our feature “Look Book” (page 60) took us to the soaring lobby and artful grounds of the historic Graduate by Hilton Seattle, where fashion photographer Patrick Tak captured our very obliging model, Alice, in gowns, gloves and one knockout jumpsuit. (One moment she was teetering on the edge of a luggage cart; another she was traipsing down a hallway with several onlookers offering kudos and congratulations. She’s a total pro.) On page 72, we ventured to Woodinville’s newest hotel The SOMM, for a dramatic, yet timeless wedding editorial led by Gian Events. The rain held off just long enough for photographer Gina Paulson to snap some of the dreamiest shots of the ceremony and reception before we dashed for safe haven, which happened to be in the company of a very special automotive guest.

As you devour the rest of these pages, you’ll encounter whimsical cakes that are almost too pretty to cut (page 58), perfect scent pairings (page 38) and a wedding favor that’s making quite the hot comeback (page 48).
I hope you have as much fun reading this issue as I had curating it. Here’s to change.

With love, laurenm@irondiamondmedia.com @lauren_irondiamond

ALL THE VIBES
As winter gives way to spring across Washington, bringing new blooms, longer days and the start of another beautiful wedding season, we can’t help but feel excited about what 2026 holds! The Spring/ Summer 2026 issue of Washington Wedding Day is brimming with inspiration and fresh perspectives.
Jessi and I were thrilled to work with our new editor-in-chief, Lauren Mang. We’re pumped to have feet on the ground in the PNW, and she’s game for all the red wine-ing and exploring that comes with the territory. Her eye for detail and love for Washington shines through every page, bringing creative ideas and new vibes to this issue.
From the bustling streets of Seattle to the scenic beauty of Woodinville, we were reminded again and again that Washington is a place where creativity thrives and love stories are told in breathtaking ways. Our team had the pleasure of capturing the elegance and romance of The SOMM in Woodinville, a venue where modern sophistication meets the charm of wine country. We also shot at Graduate by Hilton Seattle, a hotel whose bold design and sweeping city views brought unforgettable warmth to our shoot.
As always, this issue gives you a peek into how Washington’s wedding industry celebrates one another. Page 18 captures our Best of 2025 Awards celebration at the Silver Cloud Hotel Tacoma at Point Ruston Waterfront—it was such a vibe ! It was truly an unforgettable night honoring the state’s most talented wedding professionals. I also want to highlight the Night of Gratitude , featured on washingtonweddingday.com , in which we celebrated 2025 Best Of sponsors at the Supra Dinner. Thanks to everyone for a heartfelt evening full of appreciation, laughter and connection, honoring the partners who make these celebrations possible.
Whether you’re newly engaged, knee-deep in planning or simply soaking in Washington’s love stories, I hope this issue fills you with joy, sparks fresh ideas and connects you to our extraordinary wedding community. As you bring your wedding day to life, we’d love to see your journey unfold. Please share it with us by tagging @washingtonweddingday . We already know it’s going to be gorgeous.
Big hugs and congratulations on your engagement!

A Wind Mountain Ranch wedding design showcases minimalism to the max. Photography by Gina Paulson. Turn the page for more dreamy details.
WILD OPEN SPACES
This waterside design was built around contrast—crisp black-tie attire against an open summer landscape and a lively spring palette woven through the modern architecture of Wind Mountain Ranch in Stevenson. The stunning scene was crafted by Seattle-based wedding planning and design company Bixby + Pine.
Outside, the ceremony came alive. The ridgelines surrounding the property created a natural frame for a small, seated group, while blooms in chartreuse, lilac, orange and soft blue added sculptural color along the pond’s edge. The vow exchange, though imagined, carried the intimate pace of a true micro-wedding—guests, some sporting parasols to contend with the golden-hour sun, looked on. The bride’s veil caught the wind as her groom dipped her into an “I do” kiss.
For cocktails, servers passed elevated, seasonal bites. A vintage beverage cart offered a playful moment against the ranch’s black-timber interior. Dinner followed inside the barn, where “Ikebana-style arrangements on the table created a unique and visually interesting setting,” says Bixby + Pine owner and creative director, Taylor Rychener. The day wound down with a single-layer Lambeth cake, an indulgent champagne tower and golden light falling across the grounds.

BIG DAY MEETS THE BIG SCREEN
Everyone has that one movie they can watch over and over again and recite every line from memory. For bride Brooke, that movie is The Parent Trap . “It’s my ultimate childhood nostalgia film,” she says of the 1998 romantic comedy, which stars Lindsay Lohan as identical twins Annie and Hallie, who are separated at birth and living apart. “You have Hallie, who lives on her father’s winery in Napa, and Annie, who lives in London with her wedding gown-designer mother. Both settings are incredibly charming and speak to my soul.”
So, naturally, when Brooke and fiancé Brandon decided to spend forever together—the pair met in biology class while attending the University of Arizona—they channeled all The Parent Trap vibes, from a cozy, wine estate-inspired venue to songs pulled straight from the soundtrack.
Their celebration began with a welcome party aboard the 85foot schooner The Bay Lady , which mirrored the film’s opening scene of the parents’ marriage at sea. Brooke brought her love for movie mom Elizabeth James into the aesthetic with her welcome-party style, donning a clean and classic gown from Anthropologie with a highneck sheer shawl from Lola Varma, which she ordered sight unseen from The Dress Theory Seattle.
The Corson Building was the ideal fit for their nuptials, lending a quaint vineyard villa aesthetic that conveyed “Hallie” with perfection. Songs from the film peppered their wedding weekend, including “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole and “Soulful Strut” by Young-Holt Unlimited, which, the bride notes, is the tune playing during Annie’s iconic handshake with her butler. How’s that for a true fan? —Lauren Mang

IN HER SHOES
If anyone was destined to design dream shoes, it’s VALENTINA RANGONI (@valentinarangoniofficial)
As the third generation of the famed Rangoni Firenze family, she grew up surrounded by sketches, leathers and Italian craftsmanship. But Valentina’s namesake line is all her own—fresh, romantic and undeniably chic.

This year, love is at the heart of everything she does. This past September, Valentina tied the knot with orchestra conductor Pietro Mazzetti at her family’s storybook Tuscan estate. Naturally, she’s put her artistry center stage and designed custom pairs for her bridal party, plus three pairs for herself (because what bride can settle for just one?).
Inspired by her walk down the aisle, Valentina is debuting her first bridal collection—Italian-crafted shoes that will take a bride from “I do” to the dance floor. Think varying heel heights, elegant silhouettes and romantic details like ribbon ties and crystal-adorned buckles. And with Valentina’s craftsmanship in every stitch, brides can take a stylish step into forever. —Lara

An iconic setting for your Seattle wedding
STEVEN ZHANG PHOTOGRAPHY
COME TOGETHER

Amid the lush grounds of Parties on the Terrace in Redmond, a dreamy scene came together in a display of luxe textures and patterns. The unique ceremony space set the tone for a wedding day that prioritized connection over convention, eschewing popular trends in favor of something intentional and personal. In lieu of a central aisle, the couple
entered from each side of the space to meet in the middle, representing their union while eliminating the concept of “chosen sides.” Crafting an intimate feel, the bountiful altar was framed by two cream-colored lounge sofas, followed by rows of black chairs, bringing a modern edge to an otherwise verdant ambiance.

Blooms burst forth from a yin-yang-inspired serpentine table design, embracing the idea of complementary forces coming together to create a greater whole. “Serpentine tables have grown in popularity,” says Lacey Larsen, owner of Seattle-based Evergreen Weddings, which helped to dream up the concept. “But we wanted to push the boundaries by doing something more than just a singular line.” Rich, hyper-seasonal blooms of ranunculus, ninebark, flowering Dogwood and elegant martagon lilies brought depth, with moody mauve and burgundy balancing the color scheme, offset by stark ivory petals.
Woven placemats, pastel taper candles and abstract napkins softened the tablescape, while black-rimmed glass plates and striped linens provided a geometric pop.

The couple’s attire embodied the overall juxtaposition—the bride’s gown featured delicate floral lace with a sheer corset, while the groom donned a classic tan suit coat contrasted sharply with black lapels and detailing. “Styled with a moody, yet romantic palette, the design served as a backdrop for a story about partnership, intimacy and doing what is most reflective of ‘you’ as a couple,” Larsen says.

A LUSH, MODERN WEDDING DAY WITH A VINTAGE TWIST
Overlooking the local vineyards and braving the gusty winds, Lauren and Braedon tied the knot at the bride’s family home in Wenatchee. In a palette that elegantly echoed the rolling scenery, a lush floral arch of hydrangeas and roses framed the couple as they exchanged their windswept vows. Vintage-inspired crystal lamps and playful disco balls hung above the draped reception tent. Pears, plucked from the bride’s family orchard, were scattered across the crisp white bar while organic green, hanging anthuriums framed the space with dramatic flair. Floral-patterned plates and delicate green goblets were set atop lace tablecloths, creating a gardenparty ambiance alongside whimsical floral centerpieces.
The standout detail? Lauren’s late grandfather’s bubblegum-pink 1968 Cadillac, which had long been a staple at her family gatherings. Lauren and Braedon carved out time for retro portraits in the car with the cotton candy-colored sky as their backdrop. The couple also made a temporary getaway during cocktail hour to celebrate their newlywed status with a romantic scenic drive.

SETTING THE STAGE
NOELLE AND RICHARD’S BIG DAY WAS JUST THAT: BIG
Noelle and Richard’s Larc Hill Vineyard wedding was intentionally designed to showcase the couple’s shared love of opera and the visual tension of a live performance. The aesthetic was bold, and evident from the moment guests stepped into the space: a white aisle cut through a low drift of flowers, with a hint of mist skimming the ground to quiet the vineyard behind it. The ceremony was framed by a custom structure—a sweeping floral arch and two long garden rows that read almost like stage wings, guiding attendees’ attention forward.
Inside the reception, the energy shifted to full theatrical staging. Blossoms hung from above, allowing the room to feel tall and layered. Each chandelier carried a spill of flowers that extended downward and

then met wide floral “skirts” at the tabletops, creating vertical movement. Gold acrylic—first introduced on the invitations—became a connective material throughout the signage and tabletop accents.
The personal florals were intentionally structured so they wouldn’t get lost against the scale of the installations. The bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ nosegays, wrist corsages and toss petals all mirrored the main palette without competing with the larger displays.
The décor backlit the joyous celebration like a well-dressed stage might play host to an opera. Every space had its own cue, shaping a wedding day that felt designed to be experienced moment by moment.

MOOD: FLOWERS
BRIGHTLY COLORED BLOOMS ABOUND AT THIS SUMMER GARDEN WEDDING
Jaime and Jack’s wedding at Fox Hollow Farm was a bold, colorful celebration that reflected their playful style and love for travel. The design evoked the feeling of stepping into a lush meadow or an intimate secret garden, rooted in the surrounding landscape and enlivened with vibrant colors. Bright floral accents introduced warmth, movement and a sense of celebration without competing with the natural environment. Floral design—a passion shared by the bride and her mom—became the heart of the aesthetic. A meadowstyle aisle installation, with soft, natural bends echoing the nearby river, created an intuitive path that felt as if it had grown there over time. The palette featured expressive textures and wildflower-inspired hues, allowing each bloom to feel meaningful.

Cocktail hour featured seasonal, floral-inspired drinks, such as lavender lemonade and the signature “Royal Alchemy” cocktail.
During the reception, suspended floral chandeliers transformed the tented space. Each chandelier introduced movement and dimension, with cascading blooms forming sculptural focal points and adding a true “wow” factor. Long wooden tables were adorned with bright, handpainted plates, layered atop white dinnerware and wooden chargers, and accented with teal-blue napkins. The result was an atmosphere filled with whimsy, intimacy and discovery, with every floral choice carrying emotional significance and creating a celebration that felt deeply personal, visually striking and unmistakably reflective of Jaime and Jack.

IN LOVE
CASCADING FLORALS AND CANDLELIGHT LEND A LITTLE ELEGANCE AND A LOT OF DRAMA TO THIS MODERN DESIGN
Design
Gian Events Florals: Pollen In Love Photography: Gina Paulson Text: Lauren Mang Venue: The SOMM Hotel & Spa
Yes, there was ample elegance—crisp white roses, luxe textured linens, white-and-gold tableware. But then, there was the drama.
The candlelight. The bounty of ferns and Italian ruscus trailing from table to floor. The occasional Dracaena lemon-lime plant mingling with bursts of ferns and florals along the aisle.
This striking scene, hosted at the equally striking (and recently opened) SOMM Hotel & Spa in Woodinville, was the perfect blend of timelessness and drama, devised by Seattlebased wedding and event planner Gian Events.

“Our vision was to take the essence of a classic wedding and reimagine it through a modern, sophisticated lens,” says ReneilleGian Velez, owner and principal planner at Gian Events. “We wanted to create something that felt dramatic yet effortlessly elegant—a love letter to the contemporary bride who values clean lines, soft romance and intentional design."
The curved ceremony layout was chosen to evoke emotion and intimacy, ensuring all eyes were on the gorgeous couple.

The wedding invitation suite features a timeless, classic look. “A hand-drawn floral border brings uniqueness, while a monogram with the initials of the couple’s first names blends the art with the text,” says Rosie Powell, owner, calligrapher and lead designer for Songbird Paperie.

Guests should feel like they’re stepping directly into a modernday FAIRY TALE —that dreamy, heart-fluttering moment when love feels palpable and you feel the RAWNESS of EMOTIONS as you’re waiting for the ceremony to begin.
– Reneille-Gian

The tablescape was designed to feel LUXURIOUS without being loud—a seamless balance of MODERN artistry and elegant simplicity.

Wavy, serpentine tables layered with luxe ruched linens

This towering confection from The SweetSide features refined, lace-like detailing, which complements the romantic stationery suite. The result is a sleek, sophisticated cake that still feels timeless.
The perfect getaway car? An unbelievably chic Bentley, of course.

AIRY, DRAPED FABRICS MEET STURDY STONEWARE FOR A SCENE BLOOMING WITH FOLIAGE AND FLORALS
Design & Planning: Émerveillé Events Concept & Venue: House Wight Florals: Moonflower Design Co. Photography: Alexandrae Photography Text: Lauren Mang
In Greenlake’s charming, light-filled House Wight studio, a timeless setting centered around airy textiles, stone detailing and florals in the most delicate shades unfolded. The design, the brainchild of Seattle makeup artist Michelle Wight and Emma Hanis, the founder, chief planner and designer, at Émerveillé Events, featured elegant white-and-peach draping framed by a grand floral installation—its wisps of greenery and ferns interspersed with roses, sweet peas and chrysanthemums in peach, taupe, mauve and blush pink.

“The overall inspiration for this design was the natural fluid movement of draping,” Hanis says. “Draping is often overlooked as a simple backdrop, but its shape and texture create a visual story, and we wanted that elegance to be intentionally highlighted.”
The groom’s mauve suit was the perfect complement to the colors of the sweet peas and the tulips blooming throughout the tableau. “Textiles can become the main focus of a wedding design,” notes Hanis.

As for the tablescape, ethereal draping was grounded with a little heft: stone candle holders, stone floral vessels and simple stoneware plates (those were topped with embroidered napkins) created balance. Textured pillars evoked the layered background draping, while centerpieces of brownie tulips, sweet peas and roses created the perfect dusty-hued flourish.

Our COLOR palette was inspired by brownie tulips, a gorgeous bloom whose STRIATED petals, when open, resemble the natural PLEATS of the fabrics used throughout the shoot.

@mango_ink
At Mango Ink, we believe paper should feel like an experience, not just a formality. For nearly twenty years, we’ve been designing and printing meaningful stationery for modern couples who care about beauty, design, and connection.
Founded by husband and wife team Heidi and Ryan Miller, our Seattle studio is home to ink-covered aprons, antique presses that hum with history, and stacks of the softest cotton paper you’ve ever touched. We’re not just designers who send files off to print. We print every piece ourselves, inhouse, on our vintage presses, making sure every impression feels just right.
Our work blends refined design with the joy of real craftsmanship. From elegant wedding suites to embossed notes and day-of details, everything we create is meant to be held, kept, and remembered.
We design for couples who care about meaning as much as they do about style. The ones who want their guests to open an envelope and feel something.

REAL WEDDINGS

AMY & ALEX
Married & Celebrated: THE RUINS, SEATTLE
Date: MAY 25, 2025
For Amy and Alex, fate had a hand in bringing them together. The pair had met several times, first in high school, then, in college, where they shared the same major. But it wasn’t until they matched on a dating app 10 years later that they finally clicked. The couple wanted their wedding to be a celebration of love and joy, with a little playfulness mixed in, and The Ruins, with its rich colors and eclectic charm, was the perfect venue for just that. For their first look, the soon-to-be newlyweds discovered they had each chosen a gown and jewelry that mirrored the other’s. Then, with a few happy tears over their sartorial serendipity, they slipped away for a private moment to exchange vows before their intimate ceremony among family and friends. For the reception, an over-the-top dining room, featuring hand-painted murals, opulent gilded accents and crystal chandeliers, awaited. Minimal décor allowed the whimsical space to shine, with simple taper candles casting a soft glow and a lush blend of peonies, roses, ranunculus, poppies and delphinium, along with greenery such as eucalyptus and seasonal foliage, offering a romantic garden-inspired vibe. The evening revelry began with—what else?—RuPaul’s “Supermodel (You Better Work)” and kept buzzing along with even more modern Pride anthems, honoring queer resilience and the freedom to love unapologetically and boldly. Guests put on their dancing shoes—as well as a few pairs of party-ready, heart-shaped sunglasses and raised cocktails named after the pair’s sweet pups. NIKKI & LUKE
Married & Celebrated: TWIN WILLOW GARDENS, SNOHOMISH
Date: JUNE 20, 2025

In Korean culture, butterflies represent love, harmony and new beginnings—the perfect symbol for Nikki and Luke’s opulent wedding day. Their vision came to life at the charming Twin Willow Gardens, where elegant floral displays of roses, snapdragons and peonies, along with dreamy draping, created a fairytale-like setting within the forest. Geometric paper lanterns hung over the altar, adding even more richness and texture, while the couple exchanged their affirmations of love. To honor their heritage, they incorporated elements of Korean culture throughout, including a pink escort card wall filled with custom-cut paper butterflies in flight, table numbers displayed in English and Korean, a Korean soju toast, a tiered cake embellished with sugar butterflies and a menu of delicious delicacies like spicy miso-marinated salmon, kimchi fried rice and a late-night ramen bar. During the reception, Nikki and Luke encouraged their guests to play a rousing game of Kan Jam, a flying disc game similar to ultimate frisbee, which just so happened to be a game they both love and where they first crossed paths. —Ryley S. ANKITA & JEFFREY
Married & Celebrated: LAIRMONT MANOR, BELLINGHAM
Date: AUGUST 3, 2024

Planning a celebration that would highlight customs from their respective cultural backgrounds, Ankita and Jeffrey knew their throughline: family. Their plan was perfect—an Indian baraat to begin, complete with the groom on horseback, sporting a white kurta and regal shawl, accompanied by drummers and—a twist—bagpipe players as he strode toward his bride. Then it transitioned into a Western wedding (influenced by the Pacific Northwest, of course). Ankita stunned in a red-and-gold lehenga, paired with a cascade of bold jewelry and intricate henna. The pair exchanged garlands—symbolizing mutual acceptance of their families—and circled the fire, which represented their promises to one another, completing their vows. With guests adjourning to enjoy global fare (including Indian dishes, Spanish paella and, to honor the PNW, an oyster bar), the newlyweds performed a quick change into their Western wedding best. Attendees dined under twinkling lights, finding their seats at round tables adorned with pastel linens and unique centerpieces bursting with blooms in varying shades of pink, purple, yellow and blue to match the bold and colorful scheme of the day. When all was said and done, the reception embodied the effortless charm of the coastal location. Friends and family mixed and mingled with the new Mr. and Mrs. before Jeffrey presented a big surprise: a sweet serenade to his wife. The rest of the evening was spent tearing up the dance floor, celebrating with the people who matter most. —Megan Simpson Teeter

NATALIE & JAKOB
Married & Celebrated: WOODLAND MEADOW FARMS, SNOHOMISH
Date: JUNE 21, 2025

From the moment Natalie met Jakob, she knew she would marry him. Just as predicted, the pair began their happily ever after on the lush, wooded grounds of Woodland Meadow Farms in a romantic celebration that reflected the enchanting beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Under a sheer A-frame tent adorned with a mix of soft lavender and blue florals that contrasted with the surrounding forest, Natalie and Jakob exchanged vows and rings—hers a dazzling display of diamonds; his a band engraved inside with “our highest high.” Post-ceremony, guests kicked up their heels with libations from a playful (and very PNW) wall of champagne and Rainier beer and enjoyed the great outdoors in a curated lounge area tucked within the trees. The day was grounded in thoughtful touches, including seed packets symbolizing growth at each place setting (culled from the bride’s grandmother’s garden), and an unexpected shower of Pokémon cards in lieu of the traditional bouquet toss. As the sun set, the glow of string lights beckoned guests to the dance floor, which, thanks to a few late-night offerings of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and well-crafted cocktails, was jam-packed until evening’s end. —Ryley S. Married & Celebrated: THE ADMIRAL’S HOUSE, SEATTLE
Date: JUNE 29, 2024

Carolyn and Taylor’s love story spans coast to coast. They first met on the East Coast, but it was their shared wanderlust—weekend getaways, late-night dinners with friends and new adventures—that followed them west and shaped every detail of their wedding. Held at The Admiral’s House, a historic waterfront space in Seattle, guests were treated to a day filled with chic Italian-inspired details, blending a Capri-like aesthetic with nautical elements that honored the Pacific Northwest and the venue’s storied naval roots. The couple’s ceremony unfolded in the well-manicured garden, where vibrant blooms in citrus shades created a striking backdrop. When a brief, post-ceremony shower rolled through, guests reached for the handmade napkins at each place setting and turned them into makeshift rain hats, their laughter echoing until the clouds cleared. The alfresco celebration continued with a lively dinner at gingham-accented tables, with playful patterned chairs and lemon-hued, striped parasols lending a Mediterranean flair. As the father-daughter dance came to an end, Carolyn surprised her mother by playing her favorite song, Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.” Twinkling lights illuminated the evening sky, and the Seattle skyline glowed in the background, as everyone let loose on the custom-painted dance floor. Hoisted high and flying proudly in the air, Carolyn and Taylor’s custom nautical flag was displayed on The Admiral’s House flagpole, concluding an unforgettable day on the West Coast. —Isabelle Keller

SARAH & JOSH
Married & Celebrated: PRIVATE RESIDENCE, LAKE TAPPS
Date: AUGUST 31, 2025

For Sarah and Josh, an intimate wedding on the shores of Lake Tapps was the perfect way to promise forever—quiet, heartfelt and entirely their own. Surrounded by arborvitae trees and a large weeping Alaskan cedar in the backyard of Sarah’s childhood home, the two exchanged vows in the company of their closest loved ones. An arbor draped in florals in sunbaked shades of rust red, chocolate brown and burnt orange served as their altar. The wedding party mirrored the palette: vibrant dresses mingled with light linen suits, all standing out against the brilliant blue of the lake. Sarah, clad in a strapless ivory gown, with a trailing tulle veil, carried a bridal bouquet featuring the same earthy palette. With the knot officially tied, the newly married pair jetted off via boat (a “just married” sign hanging from the stern, naturally) to spend a private moment together before their reception. Back on land, friends and family gathered beneath twinkling lights and the lush flora of August, imbibing bright Aperol spritzes and blood orange margaritas. The event was something of a homecoming—many of the guests had spent summers there, out on the lake. Thus, devising the perfect dinner setting was all the more important: long tables were set into a distinct U-shape, with lights crisscrossing overhead, creating a romantic and intimate moment among friends. —Isabelle Keller

KATIE & CONNOR
Married & Celebrated: FIDDLER’S BLUFF, SNOHOMISH
Date: AUGUST 23, 2025

The morning of the wedding unfolded in a calm, unhurried way as Katie stepped into her gown and her bridesmaids gathered in shades of blue. Connor donned a custom jacket he’d designed himself, with the wedding date stitched inside as a little reminder of the celebration to come. Attendees took their seats beneath the barn’s bowed ceiling, where curving floral arrangements, featuring dahlias, hydrangea, garden roses and drifting sprigs of delicate tweedia rose to nearly 10 feet high. Ribbons in peach and coral hues were fastened to the aisle chairs. The room felt both grand and gentle—truly an indoor meadow. After the vows, the party moved to the open fields and riverbank, where the couple slipped away for portraits around the barn before guests settled in for dinner. Back inside, the room was transformed for the reception. Alternating tables gave dimension to the space: ivory and green-and-white floral linens paired with rattan chargers, stoneware plates and a single garnish of mint on each setting. Compotes and clusters of bud vases added warm pinks, corals and whites to the overarching scheme of blues and greens—a palette inspired by the colors of the Pacific Northwest. As the heat pushed guests outside after toasts, the sun dipped below the horizon. The new husband and wife seized the moment, gathering everyone for a bubble-filled “exit,” which became one of their favorite memories of the day. —Megan Simpson Teeter

KENDALL & KYLE
Married & Celebrated:
NOVELTY HILL-JANUIK WINERY, WOODINVILLE
Date: AUGUST 16, 2025

When Kendall first spotted Kyle across the gym during a dodgeball match, he was instantly smitten. So, naturally, that meant playfully throwing dodgeballs at him all night. Over the next four months, the chase was on—Kendall asked Kyle to go on a date five times before he finally agreed on the sixth ask. Then on a beautiful summer day, the pair were married at Woodinville’s Novelty-Hill Januik Winery in a modern and masculine celebration featuring a classic black-and-white palette, simple florals of white calla lilies with greenery and elegant candlelit accents. Their love of travel came through in several touchpoints, including reception tables that sported the names of memorable places they’d visited together and a passage on the back of each table’s menu describing what made that particular place so special. Inside the venue, a black-and-white checkered dance floor and a chic lounge area called to partygoers, while two personalized claw machines enticed guests to try their luck at winning a prize. (The couple had fond memories of successfully playing the claw machines in Tokyo and having to buy a new suitcase in which to tote home all their spoils.) The perfect ending to their lively soirée?

COURTNEY & ALDEN
Married & Celebrated: PRIVATE ESTATE, GIG HARBOR
Date: AUGUST 9, 2025

A century-old family estate on the water in Gig Harbor set the tone for Courtney and Alden’s August celebration. It was a place steeped in memories for the bride’s family and, over time, for the groom as well. Guests arrived to a yard shaped by its years, with tall evergreens, a long stretch of lawn and the shimmer of the harbor framing the day from start to finish. True to their tradition of creating joy, Courtney’s family had spent the day before gathering buckets of bright blooms from local farms—crafting every arrangement by hand. Their work shaped the ceremony garden with loose, sunlit florals that felt lifted straight from the property. The bride and groom exchanged vows in the lower garden, surrounded by all the people who had watched their relationship grow from a study-abroad spark in Australia to a life built together in San Diego. After the “I do’s,” guests wandered toward cocktail hour, where an oyster bar served as a meaningful tribute to the groom’s late cousin. Dinner unfolded beneath a sailcloth tent, where excellent food (a nod to Alden’s family’s deep-rooted Iraqi cooking traditions) kicked off the evening festivities. Yard games, beach lounging and long conversations filled the early golden hours, giving way to a packed dance floor as soon as the first beat dropped. The couple’s advice to others: “Doing a first look gave us the chance to enjoy our whole cocktail hour and spend time with each guest. The day goes by fast, so dwell in every moment!” —Megan Simpson Teeter

ABBEY & PETER
Married & Celebrated: RED BARN FARMS, COLTON
Date: AUGUST 2, 2025

For Peter, it was love at first sight when he met Abbey at a Washington State University tailgate party. It was two years before their paths crossed again, and they bonded over their shared love for WSU—including its mascot, Butch the Cougar—as well as country music festivals and the rolling hills of Washington’s Palouse region. So it was no surprise that the couple decided to get married at Red Barn Farms in Colton, a quaint venue with stunning views of the Palouse’s wheat fields. The air stirred softly, setting dresses and petals aloft as Abbey and Peter exchanged vows, bathed in golden light. Leaning into the landscape’s natural beauty, the stationery featured custom artwork as an homage to the surrounding hills, while an elegant mix of greenery and muted florals evoked their soft colors. Inside the barn, swaths of sheer fabric were draped from floor to ceiling, with even more greenery suspended above a long rustic-meets-refined dinner table. That spirit carried into the reception: An illustrated map of Pullman— prime WSU student stomping grounds—served as the seating chart and highlighted popular street corners and school landmarks. Each table was a love letter to Pullman, celebrating the moments the couple had shared there. To further honor their WSU roots, cocktail hour appetizers featured the university’s famous Cougar Gold Cheese, plus a special guest appearance by Butch the Cougar, chauffeured via the groom’s red pickup. As the sun dipped behind the fields, the newlyweds shared a dance—a perfect end to their journey. —Isabelle Keller

VALERIA & BENJAMIN
Married & Celebrated: KIANA LODGE, POULSBO
Date: AUGUST 17, 2025

Valeria and Benjamin’s meet-cute happened in a grocery store. His simple question (“Do you know where the Parmesan is?”) set their whirlwind romance in motion and eventually led to a whimsical garden wedding full of joyful colors, personal details and a touch of goofiness. Their celebration took place on the lush grounds at Kiana Lodge, where towering cedar trees, brilliant blooms and a cascading willow provided an enchanting ceremony backdrop. There, the couple’s four tuxedo-adorned pups joined them down the aisle. The wedding party, dressed in shades of dusty blue, each received a bouquet or boutonnière—a single flower style handpicked by the bride that she felt reflected their personalities. Those same flower varieties, along with roses plucked from her mother’s garden, were gathered to create Valeria’s colorful bouquet. As they recited their vows, Benjamin paused, then read his again in Spanish, honoring his new wife and her family and ensuring every guest could appreciate the moment. Guests found their seats for dinner via small glass vases filled with keepsake florals. The tables featured hand-drawn illustrations of the couple’s dogs and four cats, plus several drawings of their dearly departed pets. After cutting the cake, which was detailed with lace-like piping to match the bride’s dress and a spray of family-favorite forget-me-nots, the party was in full swing. Married & Celebrated: SCHOONER ZODIAC, BELLINGHAM

Kelsey and Gawan met in their freshman dorm at Stanford University and dated for 10 years before getting engaged while backpacking through the Cascade Mountains. The plucky couple has hiked and climbed throughout the U.S. and weathered their share of storms together—the pandemic, graduate school, injuries, to name a few. So it was only fitting that their wedding was as adventurous as their love story. On a perfect summer day in Bellingham, Kelsey and Gawan, along with 40 of their nearest and dearest, boarded the Schooner Zodiac , a more than 100-year-old sailing ship (on which Kelsey’s dad once worked as a carpenter) for an epic celebration at sea, including a ceremony, four-course dinner and sea shanties aplenty. After exchanging vows at the ship’s helm and tying a literal knot, everyone on board gathered to help raise the sails, symbolizing the pair setting sail on their new life together. A large ringing bell signaled the start of the reception, where dinner and cocktail offerings reflected the bride’s Scandinavian roots and the groom’s Swiss and Italian heritage. As the sun set, a Jolly Roger skull-and-crossbones flag went up the mast, and the pirate-themed party commenced, complete with guests donning their finest swashbuckling duds and singing along to the songs of the high seas. —Lauren Mang

LILLY & MICHAEL
Married & Celebrated: CHATEAU LILL, WOODINVILLE
Date: MARCH 1, 2025

When a group project was assigned in Michael’s computer science class, he immediately jumped at the chance to pair up with his class crush, Lilly. Their spark was instant, and after years together—and a cross-country move from Florida to Washington—the pair decided to get married on the date they first became a couple. Their wedding-day vision was a whimsical, vintage-style affair, featuring unique, personalized details. The stunning Chateau Lill, with its European-inspired architecture, was the ideal backdrop for the early spring soirée. Whimsical greenery wrapped chandeliers, wall sconces and wine barrels, while florals in muted pinks, soft yellows and pops of violet lined the aisle and framed the candlelit stone fireplace that served as the altar. Once Lilly and Michael officially became husband and wife, a charming cocktail hour unfolded with a special poetic flair: years prior, the groom had commissioned Florida poet Paul Felker to write a poem for Lilly. Now, Felker was on hand at their wedding, vintage typewriter prepped, to create poems for their guests. The couple also displayed his original poem for Lilly as an ode to their love story. For their reception, eclectic and elegantly mismatched antique décor brought their vision to life, while shades of pink, purple and amber adorned the tablescapes. The vintage-inspired wedding cake sat amid a cloud of florals, with cheeky Animal Crossing cake toppers customized to look like the newlyweds. Talk about a sweet finish. —Ryley S. Hoff

PAIGE & NICK
Married & Celebrated: COLUMBIA COLLECTIVE, WOODINVILLE
Date: AUGUST 16, 2025

Paige and Nick decided to return to their hometown of Woodinville to host their wedding day. As loved ones walked into the alfresco venue, they were welcomed with a pre-ceremony ice cream cart—an early signal that the day would lean into an elevated playfulness. The garden ceremony unfolded in a palette of green, white and chocolate brown; layered florals framed the aisle and soft textures added depth against the manicured landscape. The bride carried a calla lily bouquet designed to mimic her favorite pearl bag, while her bridesmaids held the same blooms in pageantstyle nosegays paired with chic parasols. Near the entrance, a whiskey barrel was transformed into a card box—an idea dreamed up by Paige’s parents—paying homage to Woodinville’s winemaking and distilling roots. Inside the reception, the atmosphere shifted into refined warmth. Tables glowed beneath candlelight and were anchored by textural greenery that echoed the outdoor arrangements. A four-tier cake stood at the center of the room, detailed with cascading sugar florals and a custom monogram, each tier offering a different flavor the couple loved. After cutting the cake, the newlyweds poured espresso martinis into a tower of coupes before sharing a heartfelt thank-you speech with all in attendance. Throughout the space, personal touches continued, including a photo wall honoring the couples whose marriages they admire, and a custom Washington State University ice luge celebrating their multi-generational connection to the school. As the evening continued, the celebration found its rhythm on the dance floor, where the new Mr. and Mrs. danced with everyone well into the night. —Megan Simpson Teeter

LANEY & TROY
Married: OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK, PORT ANGELES
Celebrated: FIELD ARTS & EVENTS HALL, PORT ANGELES
Date: AUGUST 2, 2025

From their very first meeting at a cozy cabin with friends to their first date navigating the winding desert roads of Sedona, Arizona, atop a HarleyDavidson, it was clear Laney and Troy were meant to be. The adventurous couple celebrated their mutual love of the great outdoors (and each other) during an intimate ceremony on Hurricane Ridge, a majestic spot set high amid the Olympic Mountains. The scenery framed their vows, while an elegant display of all-white florals set the tone for an evening rooted in simplicity and sophistication. Guests, clad in classic black, then joined the newlyweds for dinner, dancing and toasts aplenty, while the waterfront venue’s floor-to-ceiling windows offered scenic views of passing ships in Port Angeles Harbor. As for words of wisdom for other soon-to-be-married couples, Laney and Troy gave this advice: “Remember why you are having a wedding in the first place—to celebrate love and becoming one. Spend the day together and never leave each other’s side for too long, because the day flies by.” —Lauren Mang

DONYA & RICK
Married & Celebrated: BELL HARBOR CONFERENCE CENTER, SEATTLE
Date: MAY 31, 2025

Underneath a gorgeous arch of purple and white florals, with Seattle’s Puget Sound shimmering behind them, Donya and Rick shared their first kiss as husband and wife. The pair took part in a Baha’i marriage certificate signing, during which their parents and two witnesses consented to the union, then they recited a traditional 10-word vow. The celebration then continued inside the ballroom, where more elegant floral displays awaited. For a romantic grand finale, Donya and Rick shared a private last dance together. —Lauren Mang
