Amid the soaring stone pillars and historic halls of the newly renovated Avalon in St. Paul, a love story turns a new page with dramatic flair. Drawing inspiration from the grand library’s rich architecture, a monochromatic tablescape in deep merlot serves as the heart of this decadent design. Thoughtfully draped burgundy linens set a moody backdrop for a tabletop adorned with delicate cymbidium orchids and wine-colored dishware. Lit by warm candlelight, soft sentimentality takes hold at the center of the grand hall, anchored by carefully curated antiques—crystal stemware, gilded swan figurines, and embroidered lace place cards. A lush cascade of blooms punctuates the table and artfully climbs the staircase, while a balance of grounding moss and playful daffodils creates an enchanting effect. Classic formalwear completes the picture: the clean lines of an elegant suit and a dreamy strapless tulle gown accent the timeless aesthetic.

SPRING INTO MONET

“This design was inspired by a color combination I had been wanting to bring to life for a long time: soft yellow paired with complementary tones of lavender and purple,” says Candace Holmstadt, owner of 651 Studio & Floral Design, who teamed up with My Event Buddee to create the design. “The result was a romantic scene that felt like stepping into a modern Monet painting—soft florals, layered textures, sculptural bouquets and playful details that still felt luxurious.”

Rather than opting for predictable pastels, the team took a fashion-forward approach, leaning into storytelling through design. Abundant arrangements of tulips, orchids and ranunculus in layers of yellow, lavender and soft lilac with hints of blush deliver an airy, garden-like feeling to the scene. As an ode to spring, tulips were artistically woven into every element—particularly the bouquets, which embraced the latest trends. “I experimented with bouquet trends by wiring florals to create sculptural movement and shape,” says Holmstadt. “One bouquet featured wired cascading tulips, creating dramatic movement unlike a traditional hand-tied bouquet. Another explored wired orchids, allowing the blooms to float and move in a whimsical way.”

The reception styling was equally reimagined, with an oversized statement lamp standing in for the expected table lamp and a wavy fabric ceremony backdrop adding texture and dimension. A Monetinspired seating chart brought the artistic reference full circle.

“My biggest advice is not to be afraid of color,” Holmstadt reflects. “Sometimes pairing colors you simply love can create something completely unique.” — Ryley S. Hoff

Besides playing in front of millions of people during football season, JJ McCarthy and Ivan Pace Jr. had another touchdown to score: the groom reveal. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback and linebacker traded purple and gold for custom suits from MILBERN CLOTHING (@custombymilbernclothing) . But these weren’t your average suits. Enter the “groom reveal,” the latest trend in which, much like a bride revealing her dress, the groom opens his suit coat to showcase meaningful images sewn into the lining. You can showcase anything you’d like, from engagement photos and pets to family members and meaningful memories.

“We’ve seen a major shift in how grooms approach wedding style,” owner Vivian Milbern says. “Today’s groom wants a suit that feels personal, stylish, comfortable and memorable—not just traditional.” In addition to personalized photo liners, the trend opens the door to endless customization opportunities that couples can make their own and wear again long after the wedding day. “Versatility matters,” Milbern says. “Investing in a timeless custom suit means it can be worn for future events, work and special occasions for years to come.” — Sydney Stevens

JUST DANCE

DISCO BALLS, JUICY FLORALS AND A SCENE-STEALING DANCE FLOOR SET THE TONE FOR A HIGH-ENERGY CELEBRATION

From the very first note, Maren and Nick’s wedding at Urban Daisy was built to move. Music lovers at heart—bonded over a shared obsession with EDM and Rufus du Sol—the couple made one thing clear from the start: the dance floor wasn’t an afterthought, it was the main event.

Designer Laine Palm translated that energy into every inch of the space. The clean white interior and lush greenery of Urban Daisy provided the perfect blank canvas, one that practically begged for color, pattern and personality. Bold striped linens anchored the head table, while a custom orange checkered dance floor became the visual centerpiece of the room—a graphic, electric statement that set the tone for the night ahead. Disco balls woven into the overhead greenery installation caught the light and the mood in equal measure. “Have fun on your wedding day,” notes Palm. “Play with color, play with patterns, exude personality if that’s what you want!”

Ergo Floral brought the design deck to life with bright, asymmetrical arrangements—juicy and unapologetically bold—built to hold their own against the maximalist energy of the room. Live saxophone paired with DJ Benny Nord kept the momentum building from cocktail hour straight through last call.

“Make music a centerpiece to the day,” advises Palm. “Celebrate every little moment and make sure your people know the point of the day is to enjoy it!”

A few weeks later, they went on their first date. “It was one of those rare dates where everything just felt easy and right,” the pair reflected. With a little time and a “second first date,” things clicked into place, and they have been choosing each other ever since.

An annual tradition of celebrating Bobbie’s birthday with a trip to Orlando set the scene for a magical proposal. As usual, the couple were enjoying the amusement parks, and while exploring Central Park in Universal Studios, Matt popped the question amidst greenery and sunshine in a moment that felt “intimate, peaceful and full of warmth.”

A treasured walk frequented by both, the cobblestone paths and riverside views of St. Anthony Main served as a rich backdrop for their engagement session, captured by Jennifer Sanders Photography. Sydney almost didn’t attend the New Year’s Eve party where she would meet Cole, who would prove to be the love of her life. Thankfully, their paths crossed. Five years later to the day, Sydney grew suspicious when Cole put on dress pants to “grab coffee and walk around.” Her instincts were confirmed when, on that chilly winter day, he asked her to marry him.

Their shared love of music became an inspiration to their wedding photographer Madison Delaney. “They mentioned they love music and records, so I thought Electric Fetus would be a cool place to incorporate that and ran it by them,” says Delaney. Sydney and Cole found it to be

the perfect choice, having initially bonded over their love of music and spent much of their relationship hunting for records to add to their collection.

“This is one of my favorite sessions to date!” Delaney reflects. “Sydney and Cole are so easy to be around and incredibly photogenic. It was slowpaced, allowing them to truly enjoy places that meant something to them while I documented it.”

While attending the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, Peri was initially planning to ignore Peter’s DM on Instagram, but a mutual friend encouraged her to give him a chance. Their first date over coffee instantly connected the pair through their shared dry, goofy humor. “It was amazing to find someone who liked me for who I really am,” Peri reflects. From there, the adventurous couple became pet parents to the adorable Bo and attended EDM festivals, all while surviving over two years of long distance.

When Peter and Peri took a trip to scout out potential apartments in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Peter proposed with a private re-creation

of their first date—with only one photo taken by a passing stranger after she said “yes.”

Reflecting their love of dining and dancing, their engagement session at Minneapolis speakeasy Volstead’s also paid homage to their time living in Las Vegas and Peter’s love of the James Bond films—all captured through Lexie Kennedy-Schuyler’s cinematic lens. “The dark wood, vintage furniture and stunning bar, paired with the true speakeasy atmosphere, made it the perfect location. We covered every nook and cranny of Volstead’s and still could have found more corners to explore,” says Kennedy-Schuyler.

Libby was working the outdoor bar at Bunker Hills Golf Course when she met Cole, who was playing in the men’s league. He became one of her regulars and eventually asked her out. Years later, he recreated their first date, taking her to dinner and bowling at the Medina Entertainment Center before ending the night with ice cream at Honey & Mackie’s.

“He proposed on the hill by the ice cream shop where we had sat for hours talking on our first date,” Libby says. “It felt just like the beginning, but even more special the second time.”

Cole came up with the idea of giving their engagement session

a golf theme, given their shared passion for the game, and the pair immediately agreed that Bunker Hills would make the perfect full-circle backdrop. They shared their vision with photographer Alexis Schneider of Alexis Christine Photography, who brought it to life with a laid-back flair.

Jeni Becht of Green Goddess Floral teamed up with culture expert Noor Siddiqui of Noor’s Decor and Events to create an elegant balance between modern personalization and reverence of cultural traditions. To put a fresh spin on the design, the creatives shifted the South Asian wedding palette from the traditional red to fresh peach and coral hues. Romantic roses spring up in every corner of this design—atop the mandap and swathed across the lounge vignettes. Floating flowers accented by ornate gold details set the tone for a trend-forward reception, the hollowed-out tablescape allowing pink petals to shine in modern glass vessels. Bold tapered candles cast the scene in flickering light, and a thoughtful red rose at each place setting added a dash of romance. From a floral purse with pearl and calla lily accents to the veritable meadow gracing the king’s table, this delicately crafted scene is proof of the power of petals.

DEEP REDS AND OPALESCENT DETAILS CREATE A STRIKING BOUT OF INSPIRATION

Dark romance envelops this striking concept at The B Suite, where designer Ayomide Agunbiade, founder and head planner of ÌRÁNTÍ, crafted a wedding vision steeped in mood and modern opulence. Titled “A Love Letter From Us,” the design pulls would-be guests into a world of sweeping candlelight and velvet-rich tones that make every corner feel uniquely, almost cinematically, romantic.

Against the venue’s dramatic staircase and soaring architecture, bride stuns in a sculpted satin gown accented with pearls, while the groom’s crisp ivory jacket sharpens the modern edge. Deep burgundy florals spill across the tablescape and bouquet design, softened by delicate blush blooms and low, flickering flames that cast the entire evening in a seductive glow. As is true for so many enticing designs, the space thrived in its juxtapositions—from cascading strands of pearls draped across the statement cake to the chocolate-hued linens pooling beneath crystal stemware.

Despite its polished aesthetic, the photoshoot was constructed around the idea of collaboration. Many of the creatives involved had never worked together before. “This was inspired by a desire to broaden the visual narrative often seen within the wedding and event industry, particularly in Minnesota,” Agunbiade shares. “I wanted to create something that felt intentional, elevated and reflective of the richness, artistry, and care that exists within our community.”

A QUIET HOMAGE TO THE BEAUTY OF FRANCE

When Ashley and Antoine said “I do” at Minneapolis’ Paris Dining Club, the setting was more than a backdrop—it was a love letter. The venue, with its inherently French spirit, was a natural fit for a couple whose romance quite literally crossed an ocean. Ashley followed Antoine to France while he completed his master’s degree in art, and the two spent a year alternating between Minnesota and France before planting roots together. Ten years, two children and two dogs later, they finally made it official.

As a floral designer, Ashley brought her own vision to life, drawing inspiration from the gardens of Versailles—specifically the wilder, untamed landscape surrounding Marie Antoinette’s Petite Trianon. Lush ground meadow arrangements framed an intimate ceremony in the round, awash in green with soft blushes of pink and yellow. “France has always been woven into our life together, so it felt natural that it would be woven into our wedding day too— not loudly, but in all the small details that mean something to us,” Ashley reflects. STOCK & BOND (@stockandbondmn) is a love letter to the nation’s agricultural industry, paying homage through traditional dishes, heritage steaks and an extensive list of American whiskey—300 bourbons, ryes and Tennessee whiskeys, to be exact. Upon entering, guests feel as though they’ve been transported to the Art Deco era, where conversations over divine fare rule the evening (not a screen in sight!). THE CEDARHURST MANSION (@thecedarhurstmansion) is set to open its doors in Spring 2027. The sprawling 13-acre 1860s Cottage Grove estate will maintain its historic integrity throughout the restoration process. One of the most anticipated elements of the project is the revival of the rose garden; Bellagala is building a 4,000-square-foot atrium to highlight the property’s natural beauty. In addition to The Atrium, the estate will feature The Mansion, The Historic Ballroom, two private getting-ready spaces and five ceremony locations. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Cedarhurst Mansion is an ideal venue for couples looking to bask in the bygone era and add to the estate’s legacy as they begin their next chapter together.

Owner Eva Johnson set out to create a never-before-seen locale to tie the knot at a lower cost than a traditional venue, and the result is totally rad. Located in North Saint Paul, the kitschy chapel sits conveniently between two dive bars and within walking distance of a florist, bakery, tattoo shop, antique stores and an array of bars (they even share the building with a vintage dress shop). Guests can bring in their own food and beverages to accommodate everyone in the celebration, while an assortment of veils and faux florals is available for use. “In Minnesota, there is no waiting period once you apply for your marriage license,” Johnson explains. “If a couple decides on a Tuesday that they want to get married, I could make it happen.”

A MODERN RETELLING OF OLD HOLLYWOOD STEEPED IN FASHION, FILM AND ART DECO DETAILS

The Hollywood Theater set the stage for an immersive design that is modern, nostalgic and dramatically cinematic. The brainchild of photographer Alina Kay and event designer Stephanie Koehne of Serce, the editorial captures the glamour and drama of Hollywood’s golden age through a distinctly trend-forward lens. “A huge inspiration point was historic theater culture itself: old Hollywood premieres, vintage supper clubs, dramatic stage curtains, tungsten lighting, live jazz performances and the feeling of being transported somewhere timeless for one evening,” explains Kay.

Cinema Luxe was inspired by the golden era of Hollywood cinema—not through nostalgia alone, but through atmosphere, theatricality and emotional world-building.

The historic Minneapolis theater provided the backdrop for the creativity to unfold, starting first and foremost with one of the key components: the lighting. “We intentionally blacked out the theater’s natural light and built the entire environment using cinematic lighting techniques more commonly seen in film production,” says Kay. “The goal was to sculpt the space emotionally—allowing the ceremony, dinner and dance floor to evolve almost like acts within a movie.”

Beneath a tower of draping, an elegant tablescape takes shape with nods to old-world abundance and classical art. Sculptural orchids and calla lilies in deep burgundy are nestled in bear grass while still-life fruit details appear

throughout: overflowing silver tiers of grapes, citrus and artichokes alongside candlelight, crystal, layered metallics and a seven-foot, Art-Deco-inspired cake.

Fashion was another major storytelling element. “Rather than approaching bridal styling traditionally, every look was built to feel character-driven and cinematic,” says Kay. “A blend of Old Hollywood glamour with modern tailoring and editorial fashion references.”

The result is a perfect slice of life, a moment that strikes a beautiful balance between drama and design. “What makes the project feel unique to us is that it intentionally blurred the lines between wedding, film, theater, fashion editorial and live performance,” says Kay.

We wanted the shoot to feel like stepping into a film set where every scene carried its own mood, lighting and narrative tension.

FROM A VISION BOARD TO REALITY, A VIBRANT WEDDING RADIATES JOY

Sydney and Tanay’s wedding was a bright, joy-filled celebration defined by color, elevated design and an infectious party energy at Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot. The sophisticated aesthetic was driven by Sydney’s deep passion for design, and she was personally involved in every detail to ensure the event felt unmistakably like them.

Immersive, elevated, fashion-forward and highly intentional were the key words driving the design. To illustrate the plan for bringing this concept to reality, Krista Hess Crawford of de Vasco’s Daughters created inspiration boards outlining every detail, from the groom’s suit to the centerpieces. “Every design choice was a direct extension of who Sydney and Tanay are,” says Krista. “The vibrant color palette of poppy, saffron and peacock blue spoke to their shared love of color and served as a meaningful nod to Tanay’s Indian heritage.”

The floral design embraced the striking color story, featuring vibrant arrangements. The ceremony focal point was a sophisticated color-blocked display with lush flowers mounted on large columns of varied heights and set against a backdrop of dramatic ivory velvet draping.

Unique club-style seating fostered an upbeat, energetic and party-like ambiance that facilitated guest mingling and late-night celebration.

At the reception, club-style seating created a high-energy atmosphere, fulfilling the couple’s wish where guests could dance the night away. Guests were encouraged to arrive in technicolor hues and patterns, a request that added another splash of color and deepened the infectious sense of joy. As a nod to traditional Indian wedding design, verdant flower garlands were woven into the opulent centerpieces and adorned the sweetheart table and escort display.

“Trust your vision: Don’t be afraid to be bold,” advises Sydney. “If you and your partner love color or a nontraditional layout, embrace it fully. Being intentional about every element creates an event that truly feels like you.”

A swoon-worthy shimmer is swept across the eyes, while the same shimmer is gently tapped onto the lips for a light-reflecting finish. “The vision evolved into something softer, luminous and ethereal,” Michelle Dunlap, owner of Michelle Dunlap Design says. Pink accents add a feminine touch and bring warmth to the complexion. Leaning into the delicacy of the look, Dunlap applied body oil on the décolletage, while the hair remains polished with soft curls gently pulled back at the front to highlight the makeup.

An exquisite Martina Liana Luxe ballgown from Bridal Accents Couture exudes romanticism. Two gowns demonstrate a how clean and natural aesthetic can be interpreted in different ways. “Amelise” by Milla Nova from Ivory Bridal Co. follows the natural shape of the body with a mermaid silhouette, while the scoop neckline and gathered chiffon create an organic feel. “Miller” by Divine Atelier, also from Ivory Bridal Co., is another example of how the clean-and-natural theme can complement a unique gown. To let the skin remain the focal point, jewelry is kept minimal with diamond and South Sea cultured pearl earrings and a three-stone engagement ring.

Hewing Hotel in Minneapolis’ North Loop is known for its chic rooftop series, incredible cuisine and cocktails from Tullibee and oh-so-gorgeous interiors. The historic building recently underwent a round of meticulous renovations. “The architectural character is always the starting point,” says Heidi Sohn, senior director of sales at Hewing Hotel. “Exposed brick, timber beams and steel accents reflect the building’s warehouse roots, creating a setting that feels grounded, warm and distinctly Minnesotan.”

Inspired by the venue and a “classic Ralph Lauren Christmas,” Revel & Flourish set out to create a moody masterpiece filled with unexpected texture, dark details and, of course, flourishing florals throughout the Andrew’s Ballroom and Lobby Lounge. “We wanted to do something untraditional and leaned into the masculine touches already present in the venue—rich textures, deeper tones and structured elements,” says Kristina Kenan, owner of Revel & Flourish. “To elevate it to a sophisticated wedding aesthetic, we decided to layer in vintage-inspired details.”

Although the florals championed a “less is more” approach, the head table served as a harmonious fusion of dramatic romance, grand elegance and a touch of retro charm. “The head table design came together as a subtle nod to classic ’90s wedding fashion, drawing inspiration from the decade’s iconic maximalist gowns,” says Emily Nelson, floral manager of Revel & Flourish. The main tablescape introduced a contemporary flair, complete with fruit accents, layered textures and luxe paper goods. “The details in the tablescape helped bring a more current vibe to the overall design, striking a balance between nostalgic romance and modern florals,” Nelson says.

Enhancing the Ralph Lauren-inspired atmosphere, the stationery suite echoed the overall theme while sprinkling subtle nods to Minnesota and Hewing Hotel. Deep color tones and leather accents were accompanied by a custom monogram and a whimsical stag-shaped RSVP card. A tartan vellum wrap and leather belly band sealed the deal, evoking a feeling of classic Americana. “Moodier tartans and color tones mixed with a delicate scripted font and monogram are perfectly balanced while leather accents bring a warmth and richness, and the vintage postage tells the whole story,” says Brandi HuntWright, owner of Hunt Wright Design Co.

Alongside the standout tablescapes in the Andrews Ballroom, Revel & Flourish created an interactive “Bloom Bar,” where guests could pull stems from floral buckets to craft their own bouquets, acting as both a unique experience and favor.

The dessert display was one to admire, with a towering four-tier confection standing as a beacon of playfulness amid candlelight and green blooms. Finished with an Italian meringue buttercream frosting, each tier featured intricate, vintage-inspired piping, with delicate swirls, scallops and hand-textured details. Burgundy bows offered a bold contrast to the ivory buttercream and complemented the tower of cherry-filled coupes.

Blending work and play, the renovated space now offers flexible seating and a library table for gathering, while the historic pool table remains a constant. Rather than competing with the lounge’s cozy feel, Revel & Flourish embraced it, accenting the space with bud vases filled with delicate blooms and a few standout arrangements complemented by the soft glow of chic table lamps and flickering candlelight.

“Drawing my inspiration from my numerous vintage floral design books, I leaned into simplified recipes and classic ’90s flowers with a more modern design structure,” Nelson says.

With their relationship beginning in northern Minnesota on the Whitefish Chain, it only made sense for Emily and Jack to wed amid the natural beauty of Nisswa. Catalyst at Nature Link was the perfect venue, combining the bride’s love for contemporary charm with the groom’s affinity for the outdoors. Drawing inspiration from Emily’s personal style and incorporating cornflower blue into the design, the couple brought to life a timelessly elegant celebration with playful touches. Blue-and-white striped patterns and toile linen details added visual interest among vibrant pops of color and an abundance of unique florals. Meadow-style arrangements lined the aisle, leading to the spot where Emily and Jack exchanged vows, surrounded by towering pine trees, floral pedestals and loved ones. The decision to share vows during the ceremony was a last-minute addition after the couple privately read them to one another that morning. “Initial nerves aside, we found it to be one of the most calming, special moments of the day, both for us and our guests,” Emily says. Bright blooms and fun patterns carried into the reception, where tablescapes featured a harmonious mix of flowers, taper candles and, for a fun twist, disposable cameras for guests to capture memories. Amanda and Paras filled their wedding weekend with electricity, packing it with wonderful activities at every junction. Centered around Indian traditions but styled through a modern lens, the multi-day celebration brought together vibrant design and plenty of personal rituals. After initially meeting in New York and reconnecting years later when the timing finally aligned, the couple invited guests to Minnesota for an immersive few days of merriment. The festivities opened with a high-energy sangeet featuring live-action street food stations serving fresh pani puri, pakoras and kebabs straight from the tandoor. Family members performed choreographed dances they had spent months rehearsing across different cities, creating one of the weekend’s most emotional moments. Jewel-toned draping, layered rugs and brass accents gave the celebration warmth and movement while guests packed the dance floor late into the evening. The following day, Paras arrived on horseback for the baraat as dhol drumming echoed through the crowd. The pair exchanged vows beneath a flower-laden mandap overflowing with vibrant blooms before guests returned for an evening reception awash in saturated color, candlelight and textured blue linens inspired by the bride’s favorite shade. A dramatic floral installation framed the sweetheart table while bhangra and Western hits kept the dance floor full deep into the night. On a midsummer evening, they transformed those everyday rituals into a cinematically magical wedding day at White & Sable. The ceremony space glowed beneath the soft glow of candlelight and clouds of orchids, the bride’s favorite flower. Her father built the wooden cross anchoring the altar by hand, giving the setting the emotional gravity the couple sought. As a live string quartet filled the air, Rebecca floated down the aisle in a custom gown reimagined with romantic sleeves and an altered sweetheart neckline, her cascading bouquet trailing white blooms like silk ribbons in motion. Inside the reception, the palette highlighted creamy whites and quicksand roses, creating a dreamlike softness against the venue’s modern architecture. Towering floral arrangements hovered above tables dressed in gold accents and flickering candlelight, while a sculptural cake, wrapped with lace inspired by the bride’s gown, became its own work of art. Though every detail was elevated and luxurious, the celebration never lost its heart. Partners in life and business, Allyx and Ethan carefully crafted a wedding day exuding the elegance of a romantic autumnal dinner party. The Whim provided a neutral backdrop for an abundant scene of fall blooms and twinkling chandeliers. Greenery cascaded across the ceiling and crawled along lighting fixtures and pillars, where they met the meadow-style ground installations in seasonal hues. Allyx and Ethan exchanged their vows in the middle of the space, the circular ceremony setup allowing their friends and family to literally surround the bride and groom with love. The couple playfully included an olive exchange into the ceremony, symbolizing the act of giving “olive” their love to one another. The pair was intentional with every design choice, reflecting their love for music, food, books, art and hosting throughout the reception. Guests found their seat on an escort card display overlaid on a vintage painting, place cards doubled as bookmark favors and live music was thoughtfully blended into the evening. Maintaining the circular set up for dinner enabled speeches to take place in the heart of the room, fostering an incredible sense of intimacy. The pair started their day getting ready on Summit Avenue, the bride and groom made their way to an ivy-covered alcove for their first look, with their sage-clad wedding party in tow. Natalie embraced a whimsical elegance in her attire, with billowing sleeves and a delicately patterned fabric accented with a simple sprig of baby’s breath in her hair. Teagan, sharp in a dark olive suit and custom bolo tie, was her perfect complement as they exchanged “I do’s.” Lacing their day with a bit of rock-and-roll edge, the party moved to Icehouse where the pair highlighted the central role that music and community play in their relationship. Rather than the band scoring the evening in the background, a lively concert-style reception bonded the newlyweds to their guests. Teagan and Natalie made their grand entrance to “Reelin’ in the Years,” which started the champagne toast off strong. The décor for the later portion of the evening leaned into playful theatricality, featuring organic red florals that accented a hand-painted moon and clouds. A serendipitous meeting in Dallas brought Brookelyn and Markus together at a honkytonk dance, and the two quickly realized their shared northern roots. Brookelyn, originally from Mahtomedi, Minnesota, and Markus, who had recently moved to Texas from Canada, exchanged phone numbers and danced the night away. The couple’s regal winter wedding was inspired by 1950s glamour, and fashion ruled the day with a color palette of icy blue, crisp ivory and sparkling silver. Their traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Jude of the Lake Church was entirely candlelit for an old-Hollywood glow, as the bride’s strapless gown and matching gloves reflected the sophisticated style. Brookelyn’s mother hand-sewed coordinating faux fur capes for each bridesmaid to complement their blue jacquard gowns. She also created reception table runners from the same blue fabric, seamlessly tying fashion and décor together to create a couture-inspired design. The reception was held at the Lora Hotel, where sleek, industrial architecture contrasted beautifully with soft candlelight and simple white florals. During their grand entrance, Brookelyn and Markus paused when they reached their seats to blow out candles atop a cake baked by the bride’s sister, sealing the moment with a kiss before the evening unfolded with dinner and dancing. — Diane Meyer
