Abstract The aim of this project is to build an android applicationforstudent alumniinteractioninourinstitution.It represents use of database management for ease of access of student records. This application will be useful for the instituition to monitor present students and alumni. It will help the alumni to update their current status and get notification about ongoing college activities. The system provides a single platform to operate alumni data, to enable communication between alumni and the institution and provides great flexible features to keep track of the data.

Weareformulatingthebestandroidapplicationforalumni whichwillfacilitateeffectiveinteractionplatformthrough online chatting, profile viewing and personal messaging withinthreemodulesoftheinstituteviaAdmin,Students& Alumni’s.Thisportalwillbeprovidingdirectcontactofthe alumniwiththestudentsaswellasthefacultymembers.The desiredqueryoftheexistingstudentswillberesolvedfaster. Ithelpsthestudentstokeepthemselvesupdatedwiththe newdemandsofthemarket.Thisapplicationwillhelpour alumnitotakeadvantageof benefitsandservicesthatthe instituition is offering after graduation. Nowadays the alumninetworkisbecomingveryimportantindevelopment of organization because of their potential that benefits instituitionandstudentsboth.[8].
Thepurposedofthismethodistoprovideaplatformwhere alumni’scannotonlycommunicateamongthemselvesbut alsocommunicatewiththeirjuniorsandorganization.This applicationwillbebeneficialforthestudentsofourinstituite sincetheyareengagingwiththeirseniorsandcanexplore opportunitiesandcareerrelatedguidance.Theadminscan communicatewithcurrentstudentsandalumnithroughchat and can inform them about any recent update about the institutions.Thesystemisnotonlyusefulforcommunication andadminreportbutalsoitallowsthestudentstoorganize theevents.Alltheupcomingeventsorganisedintheinstitute
willbedisplayedwithintheeventmanagersectionandthus theuserwillberecalledabouttheeventshappeningsothat theywouldnotmissanyupcomingevents.
In the past alumni engagement intended solely for fund raising and other advance activities. Our previous system wasacomputerizedsystemwhereseparatedatabasesare maintainedintheformofexcelsheets.Butitisaverytime consumingprocessaswellasmaintainingalltherecordsin the form of excel sheets is a complex process. If someone wants any kind of information, they will have to search through all the records. It was not accessible to multiple users. Presently some of the alumni associations are completely independent of their parent institution, even thoughsomeofthemembersareinteractingwitheachother theyarehavingverylimitedresourcesfortheirinteraction with their instituition. Currently the alumni portal was developedusingstaticpageratherthanofdynamicpage.In theexistingsystemmostoftheworkisrequiredtobedone manually and since human being is involved it is highly pronetoerror.Ourcurrentalumniportalisaccessibleonly to the old students and not to the current students. It is a measure problem for information to flow and to provide guidancetotheexistingstudents.Currentlytheinstituitionis maintainingaseparateportalforpresentstudents.

Ourproposedsystemisanandroid basedappwhichcanbe acquiredbyalumni’sandotherexistingstudentsbymeans ofinternet.Itenableseasyandfastcommunicationbetween adminsandusers.Eachuserwillhavetoupdatetheirown profiles. Admins and alumni can organize events and find jobs in different sectors in placement section. It also providessecurityauthenticationforeveryuser.
Asweknowthatthecurrentsystemisandroidapplicationso ittargetsthewiderangeofuserswheretheycanaccessthe systemfromanywherewiththehelpofinternetanduseit for their instituition purpose. The process of execution of thiscurrentapplicationisverysimpleandalsoitwillhelpto reduce the load on admin side in maintaining any kind of futureupdatesdonebyusers.Ithadmanyfeaturessuchas securityverification,placement,student alumniregistration, chat,eventsectionandmanymore.

The system is an application for managing and accessingAlumnidataonregularbasis.
Eachpieceofsoftwaregeneratedisuniqueandnecessitates a unique SDLC strategy depending on internally and externallyconsiderations.WechosetheWaterfallModelas ourdevelopmentsystemdesignbecause
It works effectively for tasks with well defined constraints

“Awaterfallmodel,eachphasemustbecompletedbeforethe next phase can begin and there is no overlapping in the phasesWaterfallmodelistheearliestSDLCapproachthat was used for software development. The waterfall Model illustrates the software development process in a linear sequential flow; hence it is also referred to as a linear sequentiallifecyclemodel”.
ThesequentialphasesinWaterfallmodelare:
Feasibility Study: Afeasibilitystudyiscarriedout bytakingintoaccountelementslikedevelopment cost, operating reaction time, development time, accuracy,anddependability.
Requirement Analysis: During this stage, all possibleneedsforthesystembeingdevelopedare captured and documented in a need project identification.
System Design: This step examines the needs requirementspecificationsfromthefirstphaseand createsasuggestedsystem.Systemdesignassistsin thecreationofarchitecturalframeworksaswellas the documentation of hardware and system requirements.
Implementation: The system is first built as a seriesofsmallprogrammersknownasunits,which are then merged in the next stage using insights gained during the design process. The process of buildingandtestingeachunitforitsfunctionalityis referredtoasunittesting.
Integration and Testing: Followingthetestingof each module, all of the units created during the implementationphasearemergedintothesystems. Afterthesystemhasbeenintegrated,itisverified foranydefectsorproblems.
System deployment: Oncethefunctionalandnon functionaltestingisdone,thesystemisdeployedon theclientsideorreleasedtothepublic.
Maintenance: There are a number of issues that develop on the user side. To resolve these issues, updates have been given. In addition, further versions of the software have been released in ordertoimprovethesoftware.

Asthisisafullyandroidbasedapplication,itcanbeeither frontendorbackend.
A] Frontend: Frontend technology is a client side application which provide the user interface i.e., visual aspects.Generally,itcontainsadesigningpart.
Exposures: HTML,CSS&JavaScript.
B] Backend: This backend technology communicates the server sideapplicationanddatabasealongwiththatmanage thelogiccontrolsection(generallyperformactionrelated part).
Exposures: PHP,JavaScript,MYSQL,Java
Along with that, we used xml for design purpose whereas javaisusedforoperationpurpose.
MVCarchitecture forourandroid application areasgiven below:
Oneofthemaingoalsofthissystemistomaintaina databaseofallcollegegraduates.
To develop, promote and fellowship among the students,professors,seniorfacultyofthecollege.
Providing a platform for students to organize seminars,professionalprogrammers,andevents.
To give permission to colleges to verify and authenticatetheiralumni.
Accommodate and deliver information sheet and registrationforalumni.
Analysis of all graduates and helps faculty to sort thealumnidataquicklysoitsavestime.
To verify the discrepancy between graduates' knowledge and skills and the industry's requirementsforqualifications.
Thisisanandroid basedapplicationcontaining3modules areasfollows:
1.Admin: Adminscanaccessaseparateadminportal,along withimportingandexportingdataalsogivepermissionto approveorreject.
2.Alumni: Alumniitselfregisterintosystem&thenverifyby admin and after that access all the functionality of the system.
3.Student: Studentalsoregisterintosystem&thenverifyby adminandafterthataccessallthefeaturessuchasview& updatetheirprofile,registrationandmanymore.

Server Side: Thesystemishostedonhostingspell server andconsistsoffollowingtwoparts:
1. WebServer:ItcontainsallthePHPfilesrelatedto oursystem.
2. Databaseserver: Itcontainsallschemasrelatedto oursystem.
Also,weusefirebasefromgoogleserverforimagestorage.
Flow: Androidapplicationsendsdatatothewebserverin streambitsformatafterthatfromwebserveritwilltransfer tothedatabaseserverandthenitwillgobackandnowthat datareceivetothewebserverandthenagainreceivetoour applicationandthenapplicationrespondsaccordingly.
Forsendingandreceivingdata,weusevolleylibrarywithin thatthereare2classes:
1. StringRequest(forsendingdata)
2. JSONStringObject(fordataretrieving)
Admincanmanagethewholeportal,arrangeeventsrelated to company or placements, update their status & send notices, He can approve or reject permission made by student and alumni. After registration, the student and alumni verified by admin then successful registration
happened.Also,sortandfilterstudentslistbyyearwiseand citywiseforbettermanagements.
Alumniregisterintothesystem,scheduleeventsifrequired, update their status, resolve student queries through chat, postcompanyrequirementrelatedtoplacements.
Whereas, Student also register into the system, attend events, update their profile, ask questions in chat section, view company details for placements and apply for them. Also,searchandviewalumnidetailsalongwithfeatureslike callsorsendingmailstorespectivealumni.
While this project has delivered the fundamentals for a system to keep track of students, many further enhancements are desired for greater authority of the information.
1]Thesystemwouldbeanextendedsystembywhichbuild thisapplicationatuniversitylevelalongwiththatfunding section for institution purposes. Also add a feature where usercanlogoutfromthesystemwhenevertheywant.
2]Passed out students are promoted as alumni automatically,alongwiththattheirstatusarealsoupdated automaticallylike‘left’or‘graduated’aftercompletingtheir graduationandforthatwerequiredAIbasedsystem.[8].
3]Buildaverificationsystemforalumniaswellbecauseif any alumni share some wrong information related to placements or something else So admin can block that particularuserusingthatfeature.
4]Addsearchoptioninalumniandstudentsectionbecause incurrentsystemwhennnumberofentitiesareaddeditis verydifficulttofindparticularone,wecan’tscrollthepagen timesforthatwerequiredsearchoptioninthisapplication.
5]Whenanyeventareorganisedstudentsgetnotificationin their mobile notification area or via email as well. Also, adminhaschoicetoapproveorrejectpermissionwhichare comingfromstudentsandalumni.
6]Setting personal information private or public: Some peoplewouldnotliketheideathattheirinformationcould be seen by everybody that is a member of the alumni application.Thatiswhyitwouldbeusefultobeabletoset some information, such as contact details as private or public.[7].
Therelationshipbetweengraduatestudentsandthecollege canbesmootheddownwiththehelpofthisapplication.In

ourinstitution,thisengagementcreatesastrongnetwork. Alumnicansharetheirknowledgeandmaterialswiththeir juniors using this technology, and scholars can clear their doubts in any area and take benefit of the other features providedbythisapplication.
If the Department needs information about alumni in an emergency, they can access it quickly by using this application.
Wehavetakeneffortsinthisapplication.However,itwould nothave beenpossiblewithoutthe effortlesssupportand helpofourinstitutionwhichdelivereddataforthisproject.
