WEB BASED APPLICATION ON FLATMATE SEARCHINGSYSTEM

Abstract Flat mate finding system is web-based housing system which would give renting or homestay services to tourists throughout the world. Our website will serve as a platform for people who want for renting out their places also those whom are looking for staying place. None of the real estates will be owned by our
platform. Our goal is to create a web application that is both user-friendly and responsive, as well as we might construct it specifically for tourism and personal usage. For the front-end side of our web application, we utilized HTML, CSS, and Angular JavaScript, and for the back-end side of the web programme, we used PHP and MySQL. Those who use our online application will find it much more useful.

INTRODUCTION
In India, more and more people are shifting to the A tier cities for better opportunities, so the demand for affordablehousingisalsoincreasing.Thebestoptionisto haveflatmateswhichhelptoreducethecostandhaveamore family environment in the house. But finding flat mates is a daunting task and having the wrong flat mates can be a nightmare.Duringmyresearch,Ifound2mainreasonsastowhypeoplemightbeneedingflatmates
Havingaflatmatereducestheoverallcostoflivingastherent,electricityandsomeotherexpensesarealsoshared.
People leave their home town and come to the cities for jobs and other opportunities, they feel homesick. Having someonetotalktoisniceandcanbehelpfulforyourmentalhealth.
2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Intoday’smodernworldforalmostevery studentneedsto reallocatehis/herresidenceforjob. Fewlocationsarethere where most of the companies’ offices are established. It is a big challenge to spend money in a new city even without havingthefirstsalary.Whichcouldbeeasyifwecanmakesharinginrentandfoodwitharoommate.Painpoint:
● Individual flat are not feasibleto either buy or to rentformostofthepeople
● Whenyoushareyourflatwithsomeoneyoudon'tknow,trustconcernsarisefrequently.
● Differentlifestylesandhabits.
● Mostoftheapps/servicesdon'tofferbothfacilitieslikeflat/flatmates
● Peopledonotgivecorrectinformationabouttheirlocation,lifestyle,andmove indate,amongotherthings.
● Takes a lot of time to search for places matching user expectations. 2. No real estates will be owned by this online application,whichwillonlylinktothosepropertiesthatarealreadyinthemarketforthiskindofrealestate.Itwill only serve as a conduit between those who need lodging and those who want to rent out their homes. The sort of accommodationwouldbeshort termandgearedtowardtourists.
3. FEASIBILITY STUDY
A feasibility study considers all possible solutions to situation at hand. The suggested solution shall meet all of needsofusersandbeadaptableenoughtoaccommodateanymodificationsthatmayariseinfuture.

B. Technical Feasibility
Weexaminedallofsystem'sfeaturestoseewhetheritcouldbeimplementedutilizingvariousbackendandfrontend platformsaspartofourfeasibilitystudy.
Asperfeasibilityanalysistechnique,thesystem'stechnicalfeasibilityisevaluatedandthesystem'stechnicalneeds, like programming capabilities, methodology, and input, are determined. In addition, this is among most critical phasesinsystemdevelopmentprocedure.
While processing speed has increased, the system's user friendliness has improved. Maintenance expenditures mightbereducedasaresult.
User friendliness and processing speed are both enhanced by software. As a result, lower maintenance costs are possible.
A fast processing speed and decreased maintenance workload persuade management that this project is both technicallyandpracticallyviable.
C. Scheduling Feasibility
The proportion of working groups given to each task must be known in advance. Through our software, we kept trackofstartandenddatesofeachactivity,aswellasnumberofworkingdaysineachweek.
Technically it is possible to execute this project on time since our project guide has extensive knowledge of all necessarytechnologies.
D. Operational Feasibility
Definitely,proposedschemeisallGUI based,whichmakesitveryeasytouse.Evenapersonwhodoesn'tknowhowto usecomputerscanfigureoutwhattodowithallofinputs.Inaddition,users havereceivedenoughtrainingonsystem's essentials,sotheyarealreadycomfortablewithit.Asperourstudy,customersarehappyandcontentsincesystemhas decreasedtheirburdenandto dolist.
E. Behavioral Feasibility
Humans are notoriously reluctant to change, despite fact that computers are well known for making it easier. It's importanttomakeaneducatedguessabouthowquicklyaverageuserwillembracecomputerization.Securitymeasures areinplacetoguaranteethatorganization'smostsensitivedataisprotectedatalltimes.
4. PROPOSED WORK
Onthissite,therewouldbe2differentsortsofconsumers.
TYPE 1 Users will seek for homestays, while others will post ads for the rental of their homes or rooms. Both types of users will place ads. The first sort of user will just put name for our site into their search box and they will be able to accessourwebsitewithouthavingtologinorcreateanaccountwithus.Theywouldbeenabledforaccessingallofour postingsassoonastheylogontooursite.

TYPE 2 USERS have to will need to register at the very first step. 5. METHODOLOGY
We developed this project utilizing the Waterfall modal technique, whichallowsusersto finda new roommate whosharestheirinterests,aswellaslisttheirroomontheinternet.
1] UserChoices:Thisprogramhasfollowingfeaturesaccessibletouser:
• In order to identify the user's kind, he or she must first log in. The existing client could be looking for flat mate or accommodation.
• Touseapp,ausermustfirstestablishanaccountandenterpersonalizedpreferencesandinformation
• Userhasaccesstotheirprofileandpreferences.
• Usermayamendtheirinformationbyusingtheeditprofilefeature.
• Nameofuniversitymaybeusedtolimitdownthesearchforroommate.
• Percentagesofpotentialmatchesareshownbasedontheuser'schoices,interests,anduniversity.
• User’sshortlistmaybeexpandedtoincludemoreselections.
• Sendanemailtoprospectiveclients.

Roommates who are looking for a place to live must complete the application process by providing details about their desired residence, like rent, number of roommates, their contact information, their apartment's website, and any pictures they may have. Incorporating personal interests and pastimes is the last step. Generalpreferencessuchasgender,dietandsmokinghabitsareincludedinthesixthphase.
4] View profile: The information a user provided throughout registration process will be shown on this page. Basic information,university relatedinformation,preferencesforanapartmentandpreferencesforaroommate,hobbiesand activities,andgeneralpreferencesmayallbeseenbyusersonthewebsite.
5] Editprofile:Uponlogininapp,ausermayseetheirprofilepageandmakechangestotheirdatabyclickingontheedit buttonicon.
6] Look for people that are seeking for a roommate: The user will be sent to search screen after login into the app and selecting "Search" from menu. Users seeking for an apartment may be found by choosing their university from drop down menu. A thorough information webpage would be presented if you pick one of them. Clicking on the "Add to Shortlist"buttonwilladdusertolistofthosebeingconsideredforfurtherconsideration.Itispossibletosendamessage by clicking the "Send Message" button, which opens a dialog box in which the user may type their message and then press"Send"tosendit.
7] Perfect roommate match for the user: Users will be presented with a list of all of their most preferred matches after signinginandselectingthePotentialmatchoptionfromthemenu.Athoroughinfowebpagewouldbepresentedifyou pick one of them. Clicking on the "Add to Shortlist" button will add the user to the list of those being considered for furtherconsideration.Itispossibletosendamessagebyclickingthe"SendMessage"button,whichopensadialogbox inwhichtheusermaytypetheirmessageandthenpress"Send"tosendit.
6. TECHNOLOGY USED
1). HTML HypertextMarkupLanguage(HTML)isindustrystandardmarkuplanguagefortextsintendedtobeviewedina web browser. Web browsers transform Html files in multimedia web pages after receiving them out of web server whether via local storage. Semantically, structure of a website page may be described using HTML, which initially includedavisualguide.ThebuildingcomponentsofHTMLpagesareHTMLelements.UsingHTMLstructures,pictures andotherobjects,likedynamicforms,maybeembeddedwithintheproducedpage.
2). CSS CascadingStyleSheets(CSS)isstylesheetlanguagethatisusedtodescribedisplayofadocumentauthoredina markuplanguagesuchasHTML.The World WideWeb reliesheavilyonCSS,along withHTML andJavaScript. CSSis meanttoseparateappearancefrominformation,coveringlayout,colors,fromfonts.Allowdifferentsitewebpagesthat considersharingformattingbydefiningtherequiredCSSinseparateCSSfile,anddecreasecomplexityandduplication inthestructurecontentbyprovidingmorefreedomandcontroloverpresentationfeatures.Itisalsopossibletoshow thesamemarkuppageinmultiplestylesfordifferentrenderingtechniquessuchasonscreen(through screenreader or speech based browser) and Braille based tactile devices due to the separation of styling and content, thanks to markuppages.
3). PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a general purpose programming language that was initially created for web development. MySQLisanexcellentchoiceforsitesofeverysize,frommicroblogstoenterpriseportals.Databasesloveitbecauseit is lightning fast. Our dynamic project has necessitated the creation of a table here, as well as the storage of relevant data. Access, query, update, and management of data in databases are all made easier using MySQL, commonly used database.
5). AngularJS: An open source framework for building websites. Misko Hevery and Adam Abrons created it in 2009. Googlepresentlymaintainsit.Themostrecentupdateis1.2.21.
● ItispossibletobuildrichInternetapplicationsusingAngularJS,anefficientframework(RIA).
● DevelopersusingAngularJSmaycreateclient sideJavaScriptappsinconsistentModelViewController(MVC)manner.
● AngularJS applications are cross browser compatible. AngularJS takes care of JavaScript code that is appropriate for eachbrowser,automatically.
● There are hundreds of developers throughout the globe using AngularJS, which is free and open source. The Apache license, version 2.0, applies to this work. As a framework for building massive, fast, and easy to maintain online applications,AngularJSisagreatplacetostart.
7. CONCLUSION
This project helped me to get a deeper understanding of user personas and get a better understanding of user. I could haveimprovedtobuildempathyandtriedaddresspainpoints.Thisprojectwasagreatlearningcurveandit’simportant to alwaysconsider user. Moreover, a web based application resolves theproblem that was earlier faced by people in findingaperfectflatmatewithoutanyhassle.
