the medicine on time and sometimes, they may forget which leads to unavoidable medical errors. Nowadays most of the hospitals encourage home healthcare by decreasing the stay of patients in hospital, where two significant factors need to be considered- 1) Preventing accidents by real-time monitoring. 2) To check if the patients follow their prescription on time.

is growing at a faster rate and updating every day. The implementation of the recent technology like the internet of things(IoT) finds the application in various fields. The Internet of Things is very useful in the treatment field for treating the patients like telemedicine, robotic operations, online medications/therapies and consultation of specific treatment across the globe. In this paper an attempt has been made towards the development of prototype smart medicine box controlled and monitored by Internet of Things. The model will be helpful for regular medication of the patients and the care takers.

In proportionate intake of drugs and failure in following the medication norms are the most frequent problems encountered. This leads to ineffectualness and adverse effects where this might affect body organs, when proliferated this may lead to death. These problems cannot be avoided by elderly people due to their memory degradation and cognitive impairment.

This model consists of an Arduino board stored with the information of prescribed medicines connected to internet. Through the IoT devices the medication timely updates will be notified to the patients as well as care takers through android mobile application/buzzer alarm. In conclusion, the paper addresses these problems by automating the tracking of medications by blending the capabilities of IoT. Additionally, the smart medicine box connects to a patient/caretaker mobile app. It helps the caretakers to remotely monitor prescription schedules, get reminders, and access thorough medication histories. An important development in medication management is the IoT-based smart medicine box, which offers patients, care takers, and healthcare professionals a dependable/effective option. The work potentially improves patient outcomes, decrease prescription errors, increase adherence rates, and streamline healthcare procedures.

The problem of forgetting to take pills at right time, taking wrong medicines and accidentally taking of expired medicine causes health issues of patient and this leads to suffer from unhealthy life. Hence this paper put forward intelligent medicine box that can conveyance medicines to the patients on time through the notification regarding medicine intake, also ease with buzzer to inmost the long-suffering peoples to take the right medicine at right time.

2. LITERATURE SURVEY The literature survey, synthesized from the research papers, confirms a strong and growing focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) based smart medicine dispenser and box systems as a solution for medication adherence challenges. These systems are primarily designed to address issues like forgetting dosages, medication errors, and lack of consistent monitoring, particularly among the elderly and patients with chronic diseases. Key features consistently highlighted across the literature include automated dispensing, timely reminders delivered through alarms or mobile applications, and remote monitoring capabilities that allow caregivers and doctors to track real-time adherence and patient vital signs (pulse rate, temperature). Common architectural components involve microcontrollers (like Arduino/STM32), connectivity modules (Wi-Fi/GSM), and various sensors (IR, RTC, DHT-22) and actuators (servo motors) to manage scheduling, pill detection, and environment control. The general consensus is that these intelligent systems are a vital technological intervention, aiming to enhance safety, reduce

1. INTRODUCTION Technology development in the 21st century finds wide area applications like medical field, engineering, information technologies and agriculture fields etc. The Internet of things is one such field find the application in the field of medical treatment. It starts from consultation till final choice of treatment across the globe. Keeping this in mind, an attempt has been made to develop a prototype model of smart medicine box which is operated by internet of things. The model informs the patients/ caretaker towards timely medication/treatment. In order to treat the aged persons for regular medication, the proposed work will be helpful in specifying the medicines and its consumption on time through the smart medicine box. Timely consumption of drugs will be intimated to the patients/caretaker, which will improve the health condition.
