1.INTRODUCTION The increasing reliance on space technology for critical communication, weather forecasting, national defense, and global positioning systems has created new and more sophisticated cybersecurity challenges. This paper explores the intersection of cybersecurity and space technology, highlighting the vulnerability of satellites, space stations, and associated infrastructures to cyber threats. Given the strategic importance of space technology in various domains, securing these assets has become a priority for governments and private organizations alike.

Space-based communication is one of the most transformative aspects of modern space technology, enabling seamless connectivity across the globe. Satellites in geostationary orbit (GEO), low Earth orbit (LEO), and medium Earth orbit (MEO) support a range of services that bridge vast distances and connect people in remote and underserved areas. With the increasing reliance on satellites for communication, their protection from cyber threats is paramount.

Space-based navigation systems, such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) and its global counterparts (e.g., Russia’s GLONASS, the European Union’s Galileo, and China’s BeiDou), are foundational to modern infrastructure, offering precise location services to both military and civilian users.
