Olympic Fever Sweeps The World!
Hello and Welcome to the Irish Sport Horse Magazine Bite Size Newsletter! Our New look will allow you the reader to read all our fantastic content for free directly from our website, on whatever device you choose. Yes Olympic Fever is certainly taking over in the build up to the Long Awaited Tokyo 2020 Games. Well there has been a lot of controversy about the Irish Dressage Team, which despite a public outcry and having secured the necessary Olympic Qualification, Irish Riders were deprived the right to compete for their country as a Team. However, many of the Irish Dressage Community will be looking for more transparency in future team selections for Dressage, as it has taken 32 years of hard work on the part of Dressage Ireland and the Athletes to bring Irish Dressage to the Point where we had finally qualified an Irish Dressage Team for an Olympic Games. I for one will completely support Dressage Ireland as they work to ensure that Athletes who have achieved the necessary qualification are never deprived the chance to compete in future games. For now though we want to take this opportunity to wish Heike Holstein and her wonderful mare, Sambuca, the very Best of Luck in Tokyo as our Lone Dressage Rider, and we are sure Heike and Sambuca will keep the Irish Flag Flying High. For this month’s feature I had the pleasure of catching up with Irish Showjumper Michael Duffy about his life in horses so far, and how being chosen as reserve for the Irish Olympic Showjumping Team is just one of his Long Term Goals. We also have lots more for you this time, so check out the snippets here and if an article takes your fancy just click the link to read it in full on our website. Remember to stay subscribed so that we will send you an update every month, until next time Enjoy the Games and Keep Your Fingers and Toes Crossed for our Wonderful Showjumping and Eventing Teams, and our Lone Dressage Rider.
