GeneralPolicy
Thefollowingistheminimumsetofentryrequirementsfornon-programmed activities:
oAllchildrenunder10shouldbeunderconstantparentalandstaff supervision,whileinthewater.
oChildrenaged0-10mustbeaccompaniedbyaresponsibleadultinthe water.
oChildrenaged11-14whoarenotproficientinwater*mustbe accompaniedbyaresponsibleadultwhomustremaininviewofthechild inthepool.
oChildrenaged15andupwardsmaybeunaccompaniedinthewater.
oHowever,groupsofmorethantwochildrenaged15yearsandupwards willnotbeadmittedwithoutadultsupervision.Thisexcludesfamilies.
UnprogrammedActivities

oParentorguardianmustalwaysparticipateinthewaterwiththechild.
oParentorguardianshouldalwayskeepthechildwithinarms-length.
oThereshouldbeprovisionofaclearlydemarcatedchildren’splayarea.
oThisdoesnotincludeusebytheparentorguardianoftheAncillary facilities[Sauna,steam-room,jacuzzi,hot-tubetc.]wheretheymaylose visibilityofthechild.
oGuardiansmustbeover18yearsofage.
Age11-14[Non-swimmers]
oParentsorguardiansmustalwayskeepthechildwithinview.Thiscould beintheReceptionArea,ViewingGalleryorfromtheGym.
oWalking/standing/sittingonthedeckwillnotbepermittedastheadult maygetinthewayofalifeguardeffectingarescueorcauseablindspot foralifeguard.
oUseofthemobilephonewhilesupervisingisprohibitedinlinewithour childprotectionpolicy.
Age11-14[Proficientinwater]*
oParentsorguardiansmustinitiallyattendthepoolwhilethechild undertakesawaterproficiencytest.Thiscanbeviewedfromthe ReceptionArea,ViewingGalleryorfromtheGymasappropriate.
oThe‘WaterProficiencytest’willbeundertakenbythelifeguardonduty butmayonlybedoneduringanunprogrammedactivitytime.
oNote:Onlyoneopportunitywillbegiveninanycalendarmonthto completeandpassthiswaterproficiencytest.
oOncedeclaredproficientinwatertheymaythenattendthepoolwithouta supervisingadultorguardianeitheraloneoringroupsofnomorethan2 persons.
*Definitionofproficientinwater:Mustbecapableofswimmingonefulllength ofthepool[anyfrontfacingstroke]withoutstoppingandoftreadingwaterfor atleast90consecutiveseconds.

Mayattendtheswimmingpoolaloneoringroupsofnomorethan2children. ThisdoesnotincludeuseoftheSauna,Steamroom,jacuzzietc.
