COMMUNITY UPDATE DIRECTOR’S UPDATE Dear Community, Every five years, ISB goes through a reaccreditation process and we are very happy to share that following a week-long campus visit in October, we have received our reaccreditation from the Council of International Schools and Middle States Association. We now have a written report from the evaluating team, providing us with a combination of commendations and recommendations on a number of school improvement projects, focusing on our school-wide digital platform, our teacher evaluation system, the Pathways to Excellence Programme, and our integrated school-wide STEM curriculum. Having been involved with many accreditation processes over the course of my career, I found this report to be a particularly positive one. To give you a sense of what the external evaluators said about our school, I thought we could share a few quotes:
“The [Pathways to Excellence] project aligns strongly with the school's mission, emphasising personalised education through relationship-building, flexible learning pathways, creating learning systems, and differentiated pedagogy. [It is recommended that] the project team continues to develop a structured action plan with a clear timeline to streamline the development, scalability, and implementation process of the programme.”
“We found the school to be a happy and affirming place for learning, one that is fully aligned to the school's mission and its commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and the personalisation of student learning.”
“[At ISB] STEM is seen as a key tool for differentiation and personalisation, aligning with the school's strategic objectives and providing additional opportunity for the wide range of student ability. [ISB’s] leadership will play a vital role in developing core standards to ensure equitable benefits for all students, and effectively and efficiently aligning STEM experiences.”
