Issue 16 - 23 May 2025
DIRECTOR’S UPDATE Dear Community, May and June are times full of celebration on our campus, with arguably the most beloved ISB events taking place! Starting next week when we’ll all be cheering on our Special Olympics Team as part of their community send-off ahead of the Belgian National Games next weekend, continuing the weekend after that with the awards and graduation ceremonies for our successful Class of 2025, and followed by the International Festival on Sunday, 8 June, we have some packed weeks dedicated to what makes our community truly special and a place where everyone is included, challenged, and successful. With the end of the year closely approaching, we are all thinking about our senior students and their achievements this year. There are many graduation pathways at ISB, including the US High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, the BTEC and Advanced Placement (AP) programmes, and the Individualised Diploma for students in Intensive Learning Support programmes, each qualification recognising our students' unique strengths, abilities, and passions. We are very proud to see another generation of seniors pursue their unique future paths, and are very eager to see what they will do next. Looking back at the many events and initiatives this year, from Homecoming to arts exhibitions, athletics events and music and theatre performances, it’s clear that none of them would have been possible without the help of our incredible parent volunteers, who contribute to school life meaningfully every year through their involvement in the Family Association, chaperoning students in community-based service learning activities, offering learning opportunities, and helping out at the Raiders Cafe and during student arts performances, amongst many more activities. To celebrate everything that you have done in support of our school this school year, I would personally like to invite you to this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Event, taking place on Tuesday, 10 June from 13:30 to 15:00. We kindly ask you to confirm your attendance via this form, form and we look forward to marking this occasion together! this I wish everyone a great weekend ahead, and a lot of energy and inspiration for the remaining 4 weeks of the school year! Best regards,
James MacDonald ISB Director
