COMMUNITY UPDATE DIRECTOR’S UPDATE Dear Community Members, It was wonderful to welcome so many of you on campus for last weekend’s Homecoming celebrations. Around 2000 attendees – parents, employees, alumni, and student athletes from other international schools – joined on Friday during what is one of the most exciting events of the year. Homecoming is a great reminder of what a special community we have at ISB and an opportunity to showcase student talents and to strengthen community connections. It was great to see dozens of student artists performing in the Atrium in front of a large audience. Thank you to our creative and dedicated Arts Department for arranging this production and, on a daily basis, for encouraging our student artists to find and cultivate their talents. We also heard inspiring student speeches about the significance of being a Raider in shaping them as young people, and their gratitude to all their coaches and Athletics team members for creating such amazing opportunities for them. It was a lot of fun for all of us to watch so many student athletes compete on Friday and Saturday across such a range of sports. As you might have heard already, a highlight of the event had to be the surprise unveiling of a newly wrapped Raiders bus at our whole-school assembly. I can honestly say that, over the course of my career, I have never seen students so excited to see a school bus! Let me also take this opportunity to offer a special thank you to two groups: our incredible Campus Support Team (CST) who always go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly and our Family Association of parent volunteers who contribute in so many ways. On a completely different note, some of you have been asking about the schedule for next school year, and we are happy to share with you the finalised school calendar for the 2025-2026 school year. It can be accessed below in today’s issue of the Community Update and on ISB’s digital platforms. Hope you enjoy reading about the many announcements and activities from across our school departments, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend! Kind regards,
James MacDonald ISB Director
