Issue 14 - 11 April 2025

DIRECTOR’S UPDATE Dear Community, It’s the last Community Update before Spring Break and we are fast approaching the end of yet another school year at ISB! At this time in the year we always reflect on our achievements as a school thus far, and I am happy to see the many ways in which our connected international community grew stronger in 2024-2025. Friday marked the last day on campus for our graduating Class of 2025, and I would like to thank our teams for their work in planning and executing the wonderful celebrations for our seniors. This year we honoured our graduating class by unveiling “Patterns of Community”, an artwork celebrating our diverse and cohesive community. I would like to congratulate Antoine Almada-Midy, our BTEC Art & Design Extended Diploma graduating student, for capturing the essence of how we are made stronger by our differences, and to wish him and all of Class of 2025 all the best in their upcoming exams and future careers. We will miss seeing them around the campus, but cannot wait to see where their paths will take them next! Another testament to our strong community are our alumni, who stay connected to ISB and to the friendships formed here, no matter where life takes them. This past week we hosted alumni reunions in New York and Toronto with close to 150 attendees between the two events, and this weekend we will host another reunion in Seattle. Closer to home, today our Middle School is hosting a Kudimbathon, where students will walk or run to support the Kudimba Foundation, a daycare for vulnerable children in Malawi with whom ISB has been partnering for many years. We are also very excited that the 47th edition of the annual ISB International Festival is happening on Sunday, 8 June from 10:00 to 16:00. We hope that your families and friends can join us for a full-day of fun activities, sampling international cuisines, and enjoying cultural performances from the many nations that are represented at ISB. It takes all of us to maintain this sense of community and, year on year, it’s great to see that students, parents, and employees alike are committed to making ISB a place where everyone belongs and thrives. I wish you all a very restful break!
