Issue 3- 03 October 2025

COMMUNITY UPDATE DIRECTOR’S UPDATE Dear Community, In this issue, we’re pleased to share some recent highlights from our High School events. Brussels College Night brought dozens of U.S. colleges and universities to our campus, attracting families from across the region, while our High School Open House offered ISB parents valuable insights into the unique pathways available to their children. It was great to see both events so well attended, especially as High School represents such an important stage in our student’s lives as they step into young adulthood and make choices for their future beyond ISB. No other school offers our course range in Middle and High School, with over 80 Middle School courses and five distinct qualification pathways: AP, IBDP, BTEC, U.S. High School Diploma, and the Individualised ISB Diploma. This breadth of choice empowers students to build agency from an early age and design an educational journey that suits their strengths and aspirations. Since ISB offers so much choice, planning can feel complex for families, which is why we have a team of dedicated team counsellors across the school to guide each student in finding their way. It’s a privilege to support this process, and inspiring to see so many of you engaged in it. Looking ahead, one of the four pillars of our strategic plan is future-focused education. With this in mind, we are very excited to confirm that Professor Yong Zhao will be visiting ISB on 14-15 October. Professor Zhao is a globally recognised thought leader on the future of education, particularly in how artificial intelligence is prompting us to rethink and reshape our educational model. This will be an important conversation for us at ISB, and I am greatly looking forward to his visit. During his time with us, he will have the chance to connect with students, faculty, and parents. Please save the date for the parent sessions on 14 October at 09:00 and 15 October at 18:30. Further details will be shared with you as the date approaches. This is what personalisation is about, getting to know each student to understand exactly what would help them flourish and implementing the right systems that support their growth. It’s wonderful to see our students benefiting from our educators’ hard work and commitment! And of course, personalisation is also about community. I very much look forward to seeing many of you at Homecoming next week, a highlight of the ISB calendar and a chance to celebrate all that we share. Wishing you a nice and restful weekend!
