There’s something special about the work of Dunedin born, Auckland based artist Simon Williams. A special embracing of colour, a special vision of subject matter, a special refinement of style, a brilliant mix of disciplined exuberance resulting in a well established international clientele.
This long awaited solo exhibition of over thirty dazzling works, sees the artist paying attention to new subjects such as New Zealand’s oldest suburb, Parnell, whilst re-visiting others. The depiction of natural scenery remains the most popular genre of art sold worldwide. As such, the landscapes of Simon Williams afford the viewer a vista or retreat to the natural world - something increasingly sought-after and valued in our busy everyday lives.
