We are honored to welcome you to this year’s Ballet Production of A Cat in the Hat Ballet
Each year our ballet students in Grades 3 and up (Ballet Levels 1-7) participate in a main stage original ballet production. This full length story ballet is a wonderful additional performance opportunity for our dancers to develop artistry and acting skills while working alongside their classmates and other dancers as a team. Our first and second grade dancers, contemporary dancers, hip hop dancers, jazz dancers, and acro dancers were also invited to participate to enhance the experience Each class has a special role in this production and has been learning and rehearsing for countless hours In addition to performing with their ballet class, you will see fifty-two of our dancers who auditioned and were assigned feature roles based on their dancing, acting, stage presence, ability to learn choreography quickly, attitude, maturity, commitment, and class attendance They are to be especially commended for their (and their families’) serious commitment to the many extra hours of rehearsals to play the main characters who are necessary to complete the telling of the story
We are so proud of our ballet director and choreographer, Teresa Fardella, for creating a unique whimsicle production for all of our ballet students This is such a huge undertaking and we appreciate the time and care taken to make A Cat in the Hat Ballet a playful experience for all! Additional thanks to the choreographers for creating special moments for our guest performers: Amy Enos, Sarah Bristol, and Lauren Webber.

Once upon a time, in a far-away swamp, there lived a lonely ogre named Shrek, perfectly content in his quiet world. But when a parade of misplaced fairy-tale creatures suddenly invades his home—banished by the ruthless Lord Farquaad— Shrek’s solitude is turned upside down. Determined to reclaim his swamp, Shrek strikes a daring bargain and sets off on an unexpected journey to rescue Princess Fiona and deliver her to Farquaad as his bride. What begins as a simple quest soon reveals adventure, friendship, and a secret far deeper and darker than anyone could have imagined.
