What is the “Stars” Program”?
The Stars Program is specially designed for our youngest dancers age 2- Kindergarten. We use a lesson plan curriculum created by our very own Miss Teri and Miss Amy, In Sync Action Plans. Dancers are introduced to dance through guided instruction, games, interactive themes and props! All Stars classes have a required dress code to set a baseline for appropriate dancewear and equality in the classroom. During the season, our All Stars have monthly “share” classes and parents are invited into the studio for a short 10 minute demonstration to observe all of the excitement and progress we’ve made! All Stars classes have one lead teacher and at least one student intern in the studio for each class. All Stars classes participate in our annual June “mini recitals” produced specifically for our youngest students. Mini recitals are shorter performances held in a proper auditorium but without the speed and stress of a full show. All Stars dancers begin on stage together, perform one routine for each style their have learned throughout the season and then finish on stage again for a curtain call bow! All recital costumes are included in tuition. No extra surprise recital fees. Check out our Rising Stars package for savings on multiple classes!

What is the “Ballet Program”?
Our ballet program at In Sync is rooted in the Vaganova method, while also incorporating training from the Cecchetti method and Balanchine method to provide a well-rounded classical education. Beginning at grade 3, ballet classes are thoughtfully leveled based on each student’s ability, with evaluations ensuring proper class placement. Dancers can expect to repeat a level once or twice throughout their ballet career at In Sync. Movement through the levels will depend on execution of skills, attendance in class, class demand and availability. We subscribe to the concept that there will be years when students have a “learning” season and a “leading” season. Some years students will be challenged to push to a new level of technical performance, and other years will serve as mastery years where students are fine tuning technique and a leader at that level. Leveling is announced in the spring for the following fall with lots of time to continue to train over the summer. Students in grades 3–12 and enrolled in Ballet Levels 1-7 have the exciting opportunity to perform in our annual story ballet production. Tuition conveniently includes all costuming and rehearsals for this performance. Dancers in Ballet Level 3-7 have the opportunity to audition for featured roles in the annual performance. Featured roles will have weekend rehearsals for the 6 weeks prior to show day in February. The 2027 ballet production is Alice In Wonderland! For those who enjoy competition, we offer a Ballet Company team. The Ballet Company participates in various conventions, workshops and two regional competitions. Auditions are held in the spring for the following fall season.

Dancers in this program compete at two regional competitions each year, participate in guest teacher workshops, regional conventions, charity events, and all In Sync dance recitals. An optional travel opportunity is offered annually, either to NYC, a nationals competition or a large scale performance venue. Past trips included a performance on the Grande Ole Opry stage in Nashville and a parade and showcase performance at Walt Disneyworld Florida! Faqs When does the dance season run ?
Our main season runs from September to June wrapping up with our end of the season dance recitals!
Do you follow the school calendar ?
Yes. We follow the Quincy Public school calendar for school vacation weeks and snow days. A full season calendar will be in our student handbook and on our website at the start of the season. We will post, email and text if we need to cancel for weather. What if my child misses a class ?
In Sync has a flexible make up class policy. If your child misses a class they may make up that time in any other age appropriate class. We ask for a call or email to the office so we can inform the teaching staff.
Can parents watch classes ?
To minimize distractions and support dancer independence, we offer designated viewing in our lobby on monitors. Our Stars program offers monthly share days and parents will be invited into class for the final 10 minutes to watch! How many classes should my dancer take ?
Try as many styles as interest you! Multiple classes allow students to explore different dance styles, improve technique more quickly, and gain more performance opportunities throughout the year. We convieniently offer classes back-to-back, so dancers can take multiple classes in one visit without requiring extra trips to the studio. Check out our multiple class packages!
How will I know my child's recommendations ?
Current In Sync dancers will receive their class recommendations through our rollover registration process in April. These recommendations are based on each student’s progress, skill development, and overall readiness for the next level. New students can participate in trial lessons and speak to one of our team members for help choosing the right class.
What level should I pick for summer classes ? What should my dancer wear to class ?
Dress code varies by class style. Specific requirements will be provided upon registration. Link to our dancewear boutique can be found on our website.
Summer is a great time for dancers to maintain and reinforce their current skills while continuing to grow. We recommend having your dancer in the level they will be taking the next season. When will my dancer move up a level ?
Is there a recital ?
Yes! All dancers have the opportunity to perform in our annual recital, which is a highlight of the season in the beginning of June. How do we drop off and pick up our dancer ?
When bringing your dancer to class, please be sure to arrive a little early and allow time for a last minute bathroom visit. Young children can get thrown off track easily if class has started without them. Just take a seat in the waiting room and teachers will call their classes in. Parents are free to leave at that time or stay and watch class on the monitors. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the end of the program for pick up. Children are not allowed to walk into the parking lot alone. If parents are late for pick up, young dancers will be waiting behind the front desk. We have a consistent late pick up policy in our handbook but if you’re running late, please give the office a call so we can calm fear as needed. If someone different will be picking up your child, please let the front desk know. Drop off and pick up is the most important time for your dancer. Approaching class positively with excitement and greeting them at the end with open arms helps to imprint lovely memories! What if my child has allergies that require an epipen ?
If your child has allergies that require an epipen, you will leave the epipen clearly labled with your child’s name with our office staff. we will make sure the epipen is accessible in case of an emergency.
Our programs are designed for students to typically spend an average of two years at each level. This allows dancers the time they need to build strength, confidence, and properly develop the skills required for advancement. Every child progresses at their own pace. We believe in a “learning” and “leading” approach. One season in a learning phase, being challenged both mentally and physically. The next season is the leading phase for mastery and rising to the top of the class. Both phases are important for full dynamic growth. Our goal is to support every student in developing a strong foundation for long-term success. What if my child doesn’t like it?
First - they’re going to love it! But really, if it’s not working out we can try another style, teacher, day or time. Sometimes the simplist change makes a big difference! If it’s still not a good fit, we just withdraw your child from class! Your membership fee is good all season so you would be welcome to come back to member only events and get member pricing on special events! Do you offer classes for neurodivergent children?
Children of all abilities are welcome in our mainstream classes. Additionally, Our ME TOO program has been running at In Sync for 20 years and we simply love it! Classes run on Fridays and are open to all children of every ability. The class is based in a hip hop style and performs in our annual June recital. Please ask a team member for more details.
