INT. BATHROOM - NIGHT
ROSAURO (22) Fixes his curly hair, he shakes his curls making his hairstyle look messy.
As Rosauro stares at himself, blue outlines start drawing on his image creating the illusion that he's wearing piercings, jewelery and a different hair style.
Blue rose petals start blooming out of Rosauro's chest and shoulders.
Rosauro shakes his head and makes the roses fly out, spiky vines start growing from his chest. He walks out of the bathroom without noticing.
BANG! Rosauro shuts the door.
INT. HOUSE PARTY - NIGHT
The party is on, the lights are dimmed and the music is loud. Guests enjoy themselves in the hallway. Rosauro walks through the busy hallway towards the living room.
As he walks the vines on his chest grow bigger.
INT. HOUSE PARTY - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Rosauro reached the couch. He is sat down with his legs crossed. The vines fix his posture making his legs wide open.
He looks around the room and notices MARGARITA (21). His eyes grow wider as he stares at her.
ASTER (23), throws himself on the couch. Rosauro jolts as he's caught staring at Margarita.
Aster grins when he sees Rosauro's reactiong. Aster tilts his head in Margarita's direction, raising his eyebrows with a cheeky expression on his face, he suggests Ross to make a move.
As Rosauro stands up,the room seems to get bigger and margarita gets farther aand farther away. Ross takes a deep breath and then he starts walking towards Margarita.
As he gets closer, his heart beats faster and blue petals leak out of his forehead. When he pays attention this, the vines from his chest grow instantly trying to repress his body language and face expression. The struggle on his face is noticeable.
Ross finally reaches Margarita but he approaches her with a cocky stance. As he is about to speak to her, Margarita is called over by her friends, she respectfully declines the interaction and walks away.
Rosauro stands confused and sad.
INT. HOUSE PARTY - KITCHEN - NIGHT
Rosauro grabs a plastic cup and fills it.
He looks around the room and pays attention to how other guys act and present themselves:
A guy with a beard and a big bulky body, talks with mannerisms and feminine hand movements.
A skinny young man with bleached hair, jewlerry and a femenine top talks to a girl very gently, they laugh seemingly being attracted to each other.
A black guy wearing nail polish, jewelery and feminine clothing juxtaposed with his highly masculine body language.
Our protagonist notices how they don’t have tangles around them. They have growing plants instead.
BEGIN MEMORIES MONTAGE:
INT. HOUSE PARTY - KITCHEN - NIGHT
MCU - PRESENT ROSAURO
Rosauro stares troubled and confused, black vines start wrapping around his face. The music dims and the kitchen background washes out until it turns blank.
MATCH CUT TO:
EXT. BLANK SPACE
MCU - 7 Y/O ROSAURO
A seven-year-old Ross with a hopeful expression, full of wonder and emotion. Amusement in his eyes.
EXT. GARDEN - DAY
The kid stands holding a small bunch of flowers picked from his surroundings, a dreamy garden. Aura flowers grow around him as he smiles.
A pair of mysterious hands with long arms come on screen and swing the index finger left and right showing disapproval. The hands snatch the flowers out of his hands, replacing them with a football. Rosauro's aura flowers begin to wither.
TRANSITION TO:
INT. ROSAURO'S ROOM - NIGHT
Rosauro at the age of 15 on the computer enjoying himself. As he scrolls through the screen he finds a post that reads
"YOU'RE NOT A REAL MAN IF YOU'RE DOING THIS..."
Rosauro keeps scrolling, some of the comments below the post display on screen.
"Only p*ssy's do that stuff"
"Nail polish? That's gay..."
"Those f*ggots will never get it"
"I can't believe some people think that is OK for guys to wear piercings"
"You said it bruv!! Dress like a MAN act like a MAN enough of that woke sh*t"
The hands come out of the computer screen tearing the few aura flowers Rosauro had left. The teenager starts growing vines around his chest instead.
CLOSE UP - 15 Y/O ROSAURO - CONTINUOUS
Rosauro's eyes wide open peak over the computer screen, as he reads more tangles grow slowly around his face.
MATCH CUT TO:
CLOSE UP - PRESENT ROSAURO - HOUSE PARTY
Rosauro’s frowning eyes peaking over his knees.
END MEMORIES MONTAGE
INT. HOUSE PARTY - LIVING ROOM
- NIGHT
As the loud music and fun continues for the rest of the guests, Rosauro remains on the floor against the wall.
The young guy sits hugging his knees, half of his face hidden, holding a cup in his right hand. The over grown tangles cover his body and spread on the wall behind him.
Rosauro feels the mysterious hands trying to reach out again. He quickly shifts his expression and stands up immediately.
Spiky vines continue to overgrow around him as he walks away.
EXT. HOUSE PARTY - FRONT GARDEN - NIGHT
As Rosauro leaves the house party, The mysterious hand follows him and grabs him by the wrist. Rosauro kicks the hand away then, in an instant, Rosauro turns around and instinctively throws a punch with his eyes closed.
BAM!!!
When Ross opens his eyes he sees Aster laying on the grassy floor. Aster holds his jaw with one hand.
Rosauro stands static, paralyzed and drowning in vines.
After wiping the blood from his inferior lip, Aster gets up from the grass and gets closer to Ross.
Aster hugs Ross through the huge jungle of tangles that surrounds his body.
Aster moves his lips but no sound comes out.
The phrase “It's OK, let it out” reads on screen.
Rosauro hugs Aster back and the vines dissipate.
Over Aster's shoulder a rose petal blooms like a tear out of Rosauro’s eye. Ross pushes Aster away gently.
MCU - ROSAURO'S TEARS
Rosauro’s looks directly to the camera as tears start flowing out of his eyes, they float upwards turning into blue rose petals. Ross looks down at his chest.
MEDIUM SHOT - ROSAURO BLOOMING
While crying he notices the roots growing out his chest and with them flowers grow too. More and more flowers grow, more and more petals fly all the way up.
Overflowing with tears that grow like blue rose petals and flowers; Rosauro's expression changes and he smiles towards the camera. He won't stop crying, however, he starts laughing as he finds himself and surrounded by flowers once again.
Hahahahaha!!! Rosauro's joyful laugh can be heard as the flowers drown the screen.
