HeRACles
Heracles, son of Zeus, with superhuman strength and great intellect became a celebrated hero and a symbol of bravery. As an infant, he strangled the snakes sent by vengeful Hera with bare hands. Later, he killed his children in a fit of rage. As atonement to this sin he had to complete the twelve Labors. Controlling his extreme character he fought victoriously against mythical beasts, kings and even the guardian of the underworld.
Pattern inspired by the statue of Heracles, 68-98 AD, the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
