The following donations were made:

• Tattnall Evans Baptist Association: $5,000

• New Beginnings in Christ: $5,000

• Toombs County Family Connection: $5,000

In addition to organizational grants, the foundation board awarded $17,500 in individual grants to members of the Canoochee EMC community in need of financial assistance. These grants provide critical support for essential needs, such as housing, medical expenses and other unforeseen challenges.

Through the generosity of Canoochee EMC Foundation members and Operation Round Up participants, Canoochee EMC continues to make a meaningful difference by investing in community organizations and individuals across its service area.

Canoochee EMC Partners With Cappstone

System Improvement Notice: Pole Inventory Underway

anoochee EMC has partnered with Cappstone to perform a comprehensive inventory of our utility poles.

You may see Cappstone personnel and vehicles in your neighborhood or on rights-of-way as they collect data to help us maintain system reliability and ensure safe, uninterrupted service.

All contractors will be carrying identification and will follow safety protocols while working near our equipment. Thank you for your continued understanding as we serve you safely and reliably.

Bryan County Student Competes in EMC/FFA Wiring Contest

In January, FFA held their EMCFFA Wiring Contest at Treutlen County High School in Soperton. Bryan County High School sophomore Michael Chance competed alongside his adviser, Ag teacher Riley Thompson.

The EMC/FFA Wiring Contest, part of the Georgia Department of Education’s Agricultural Education division, is organized through local FFA chapters and sponsored by the electric membership corporations (EMCs) of Georgia. This contest promotes the safe and efficient use of electrical energy in agriculture through hands-on wiring exercises, oral presentations and problemsolving exams.

Canoochee EMC is proud of Michael’s hard work and dedication throughout the competition and wishes him continued success in future endeavors.

Rate Adjustment

TThis is a reminder that Canoochee EMC implemented a rate adjustment effective March 1, 2026. The residential rate charge will increase by $5 through an increase in the base charge, but the energy rate will remain unchanged. As we continue investing in the infrastructure needed to serve our growing membership reliably and affordably, we thank you for your understanding.

Unprecedented residential growth, along with increased costs for essential materials, has placed additional demand on our system. After careful consideration, the Canoochee EMC Board of Directors approved this adjustment to support the long-term health and reliability of the cooperative.

We appreciate your trust in Canoochee EMC as we remain committed to providing quality service today and well into the future. If you have questions about how this change may affect your bill, our team is happy to help.

Scammers often pose as electric utilities, demanding immediate payment or threatening service disconnection.

Remember: Canoochee EMC will never demand payment through gift cards, cryptocurrency or wire transfers; and we will not threaten to shut off your service over unsolicited calls or texts.

Never share your Canoochee EMC account number or passwords with unsolicited callers or through messages. We will only ask for personal information when you contact us directly.

If something feels off, be sure to contact us directly by using the phone number on your bill—(800) 342-0134. Protect yourself by staying alert!

Congratulations to C. Paul Eason of Claxton for being selected as the March 2026 Touchstone Energy Senior Citizen of the Month.
