Any graduating high school senior who is the dependent of a cooperative member-owner is eligible to apply. The scholarship funds can be used at a four-year or twoyear college or university, as well as at a technical or trade school. The cooperative will be awarding $36,000 in scholarships, with each of the 12 selected recipients receiving $3,000. Apply at the link below!

INGREDIENTS:
2 cans black-eyed peas, rinsed/drained 1 medium bell pepper, chopped 1 can black beans, rinsed/drained ½ cup chopped cilantro 1 can corn, drained 1-2 jalapeños, seeded/chopped 1 can chopped tomatoes 1 avocado (optional)
¾ cup chopped red onion (about ½ small onion)
DIRECTIONS:
In a large serving bowl, combine the drained black-eyed peas, black beans, corn, chopped tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, cilantro and jalapeño. If you’ll be including avocado, wait to dice it until you’re ready to serve the dip, so it doesn’t turn brown in the meantime. Drizzle enough Italian dressing to coat ingredients and toss until wellmixed. Season to taste with additional salt and pepper. Did you know that only 1/3 of your monthly power bill is related to costs for services directly provided by your cooperative? The remaining 2/3 of your monthly bill goes towards our power supply costs, which includes construction and maintenance of power plants, the transmission system to supply power to our substations, and the fuels needed to run the power plants. We were recently made aware that our power supplier is implementing a power cost increase in 2025 that will affect our members. As a result of this increase, beginning with bills dated after January 1, 2025, our residential members will see an increase of $3 per 1,000 kWh and our commercial and non-residential members will have an increase of $6 per 1,000 kWh.

Fully load your dishwasher before washing.
When buying new appliances, consider Energy Star versions. Unplug appliances you’re not using.
