e understand that many of our valued members may have seen recent news stories mentioning Inland Power serving a potential data center facility being established in our area. As the electric cooperative serving the West Plains region, Inland Power receives numerous requests for electric service from businesses interested in locating within our service territory. These prospective businesses range from warehouses and manufacturing facilities to developers, data centers, cannabis farms, casinos, food processing plants, and more. Inland Power is committed to nondiscrimination and cannot favor one type of business over another. We must evaluate whether we can accommodate any load based on system impact studies and the project's feasibility.
Recently, an energy developer specializing in clean energy infrastructure, including solutions for powering data centers, has approached Inland Power to explore how we could meet the potential energy needs of a project they are considering. We are currently in the due diligence phase involving all parties. The developer is investigating potential locations in the West Plains and has not yet made a final decision regarding our region. Our team is researching the feasibility of supplying power for this potential project, with all costs associated with this work— including power supply and infrastructure— being covered by the developer, ensuring that no expenses are passed on to our members.
services to those we serve. Rest assured, our members will not subsidize this potential project. Any large load will be responsible for purchasing their own power and any infrastructure costs. Inland Power will also thoroughly assess whether the project could yield net benefits for the cooperative and its members, such as managing rising power costs and supporting long-term rate stability. We are committed to evaluating this specific request with our existing members' interests in mind. Inland's mission focuses on our members, and we will always ensure that any significant load does not adversely affect rates and provides benefits to our membership.
We recognize that affordability is critical for our members, and our primary goal is to provide reliable, affordable, and clean energy
