LIGH READING

Always ready when it matters the most!
Thank you Lineworkers for all that you do for our communities.

InApril, we take a moment to pause and honor the individuals who make our lives easier every day — our lineworkers. When storms strike our communities and power outages occur, many experience inconvenience, but our lineworkers see a call to action. Our crews are always prepared when it matters most, leaving family gatherings, working through the night and facing challenging conditions to restore power as safely and quickly as possible. This readiness stems from extensive training, valuable experience and a collective commitment to serving others. What sets lineworkers apart is that they are not just restoring power to a system; they are restoring power to their own communities. They live here, raise their families here and understand that electricity is more than just

a convenience; it is vital to daily life, local businesses, schools, farms and emergency services. Powering the places we call home is a deeply personal mission for our lineworkers.

Inland Power was founded on the principle of neighbors helping neighbors, and our lineworkers exemplify that spirit every day. They are the first to respond and the last to leave, often putting in long hours behind the scenes. Sometimes, serving our neighbors means extending beyond our own service territory through a process known as mutual aid. During significant outage events, Inland Power crews stand ready to assist neighboring cooperatives in restoring power. This spirit of mutual aid strengthens all cooperatives and benefits the members we serve.

We recognize that any time the lights go out can be frustrating, disrupting daily life. We are immensely grateful to our members for their patience and support during these times. Linework is demanding, physical and can occasionally be dangerous. Our crews approach each task with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork, taking pride in their craft and the trust our members place in them.

On April 13, 2026, we will celebrate Lineworker Appreciation Day, but one day is hardly enough. Each day, we express our gratitude to lineworkers for their unwavering service and dedication, which form the backbone of our cooperative.

Our mission is our members!

Spring into savings!

Enhance energy savings with simple changes at home.

As temperatures rise and daily routines are in full swing, making a few small adjustments in your home can lead to significant energy savings. Inland Power is dedicated to assisting our members in using energy wisely while maintaining comfort throughout the year.

SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE FOR YOUR HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM

Spring provides an ideal opportunity to arrange maintenance for your heating and cooling systems. Having a licensed professional perform checkups in spring and fall ensures that your system operates efficiently, safely, and reliably before peak seasons arrive. A well-maintained unit consumes less energy, has a longer lifespan, and helps to prevent costly breakdowns when you need it the most.

UTILIZE CEILING FANS FOR EFFICIENCY

If you’re seeking an easy way to start saving, consider your ceiling fans. While fans don’t cool or heat the air directly, they enhance your comfort by circulating it. During warmer months, set your ceiling fan blades to rotate counterclockwise to create a downward breeze, allowing you to raise your thermostat by a few degrees without compromising comfort. In cooler months, switch the direction of the blades to clockwise to push warm air down from the ceiling, improving efficiency while your heating system operates.

ADJUST YOUR THERMOSTAT FOR SAVINGS

Making slight adjustments to your thermostat can lead to noticeable savings on your energy bill. As spring approaches, try setting your thermostat a few degrees higher when cooling or a bit lower when heating. Even a change of two or three degrees can decrease your energy consumption while keeping your home comfortable.

FOCUS ON HOT WATER USAGE

Hot water consumption is another area where small habits can have a big impact. Taking shorter showers can significantly reduce the energy required to heat water,

which constitutes a large portion of most energy bills. Cutting just a few minutes from each shower not only conserves energy but also saves water.

A home energy audit evaluates the overall efficiency of your residence or business, while uncovering opportunities for improvement. Here are four significant benefits of conducting an energy audit:

INSIGHT INTO ENERGY CONSUMPTION: An audit reveals where your energy is primarily being used and provides strategies for more efficient energy use, ultimately saving you money.

PROPER SIZING OF EQUIPMENT: It assesses whether appliances and heating/cooling systems are appropriately sized for your space.

SAFETY IDENTIFICATION: An audit can pinpoint potential safety hazards related to home wiring and ventilation.

• INCREASED PROPERTY VALUE: Implementing changes based on the audit's recommendations can enhance your property's market value.

Inland Power is pleased to offer a no charge energy audit service to Inland Power members. Our energy audit is a comprehensive assessment that can help you understand the whole picture of your home’s energy use. Inland Power Rate Adjustment

We recognize that you may be feeling the pressure from rising grocery, housing, and other monthly expenses that significantly impact your budget. The last thing you probably want to hear is news about increasing utility rates. Unfortunately, factors such as operational costs, the need for reliable power, escalating power supply expenses, government regulations, and aging infrastructure have prompted Inland Power to implement a rate adjustment this spring.

Please be assured that the Inland Power Board, along with our Leadership Team, is actively seeking the most effective strategies to keep our rates as low as possible while maintaining our commitment to reliability and service. After thorough analysis and consideration of the growing pressures and costs associated with power supply, Inland Power will be adjusting its rate structure.

A rate adjustment will take effect on April 1, 2026. This change will result in an increase of $16.58 on a typical monthly bill for a household consuming 1,500 kWh per month. We understand that managing these financial challenges can be daunting for our members, and we take the decision to adjust rates very seriously.

As the energy sector continues to face rising costs, we want to inform you that we expect further rate increases in the coming years. We will consistently provide clear explanations regarding the necessity of these adjustments. We genuinely appreciate your membership and look forward to the opportunity to continue serving you as your trusted energy provider.
