INGLIS CLASSIC
YEARLING SALE
8-10 FEBRUARY 2026
RIVERSIDE STABLES, SYDNEY

CEO - Bloodstock Sales
It’s exciting to be back for another Inglis sales season and what a way to start with Classic, the best value yearling sale in the Southern Hemisphere.
It’s going to be a huge week of action in Sydney – both in and out of the Riverside auditorium – as we showcase one of the world’s best cities and hold what is the fastest growing success story of the Southern Hemisphere’s early-season auctions.
This ‘What’s On’ publication outlines events in Sydney in the lead-up to and during the Classic Sale.
The main event – the 798-lot Classic Yearling Sale at Riverside on Feb 8-10 - will be preceded by a range of activities for buyers, vendors and general racing enthusiasts.
Inspections for Classic begin on Tuesday Feb 3, there will be the inaugural Charity Volleyball Tournament in Liverpool on Wednesday Feb 4 as well as the traditional Welcome Drinks at Riverside on Thursday Feb 5.
The Inglis Millennium Race Day will take centre stage at Randwick on Saturday Feb 7 as many of the country’s best 2YOs battle it out for the jewel in the crown, the $2m Inglis Millennium.
The Millennium will also carry a potential $400,000 in Pink Bonus payments for eligible 2YOs with a minimum 75% female ownership.
The Millennium and the Classic Sale have a strong affiliation already with five of the seven Millennium winners being Classic graduates – Castelvecchio, Prime Star, Profiteer, Fully Lit and Rivellino.
Once the week of inspections and the race day are done, attention centres on the Riverside auditorium for the sale.
We are hugely grateful for the support of the sale by the Australian and New Zealand breeders and vendors who have committed to working with us to help achieve an outstanding set of results again in 2026.
Classic has become known for its diversity and to have progeny of 113 individual sires and drafts by 74 individual vendors has ensured there’s something for every buyer again this year.
The Classic Sale continues to be the best value yearling sale in the Southern Hemisphere.
It has produced 25 G1 winners since 2018 – 14 which could have been purchased for $100,000 or less – and hence its reputation has been elevated to one that serious buyers cannot afford to miss.
We are confident buyers will be at Riverside in large numbers again this year, given Classic is the only sale at which you could have bought the winners of each of The Everest, Golden Slipper, Melbourne Cup, TJ Smith and Blue Diamond in the past 10 years and is the sale that produced recent carnival stars such as Pride of Jenni, Sepals, Private Harry, Skybird and Voyage Bubble to name just a few.
Interestingly, in North England and Revengeance, it is the Classic Sale that has produced the winners of the past two runnings of the $1m Golden Gift, the race that has become Australia’s most significant pre-new year 2YO race.
We are excited by the immense appetite of trainers, syndicators, new owners and general industry participants to be involved with the Inglis Sales Series in 2026 and I’m looking forward to seeing and working with you all again throughout the year.
Regards, Sebastian
