Wedding Designs Having a Moment If you’ve spent any amount of time on Pinterest or Instagram lately, you’ve probably noticed that weddings are looking a little different. Couples are getting more creative,

more intentional, and a lot more fun! We’re seeing couples move away from checking the traditional boxes simply because they’ve always been part of a

wedding and instead asking, “What would actually make this feel like us?” Here are a few of the wedding details and experiences we can’t get enough of right now.

Custom Stationery Your invitation sets the tone for the entire wedding, so why should it feel like something picked from a template? Custom stationery is having a serious moment. Think hand-drawn illustrations, fun typography, custom crests, unexpected colors, textured paper, and details that feel like they could only belong to your wedding.

Focus on Joy Photography

We’re seeing that design carry way beyond the invitation. Menus, cocktail napkins, matchbooks, bar signs, place cards, programs, and even the dance floor can all tie back into the same visual identity. Wedding stationery can be romantic and classic, but it can also be weird, colorful, playful, fashion-forward, or completely unexpected. The possibilities are more openended than ever.

Full Wedding Planning If there’s one thing we tell couples to invest in, it’s a great planner. Weddings have gotten big in terms of the number of moving parts. Between custom

stationery, elaborate florals, specialty rentals, transportation, content creation, multi-day events, and all the tiny details you’ve saved on Pinterest, there is a lot to manage. Having a full-service planner means you get to actually enjoy your engagement and your wedding day instead of spending it on answering questions like, “Where should the candles go?” A good planner takes your vision, helps bring it to life, and then handles the logistics so you can be present for the fun part. And honestly, that is worth its weight in gold.

Food Experiences Food is becoming a much bigger part of the wedding experience, and we are here for it.

Instead of simply choosing between chicken or salmon, couples are creating entire food moments for their guests. Think interactive cocktail hours, raw bars, pasta stations, champagne towers, wood-fired pizza, custom cocktails, tableside desserts, and food inspired by places that are meaningful to the couple. Your food can be part of the story.

Julie Martin Photography

The Euresti Co

Maybe serve the pizza you always order together. Or create a signature cocktail inspired by your first date. Another crowd pleaser - bring in a late-night snack from your favorite Richmond spot. The goal isn’t to make dinner as complicated as possible. It’s to serve food your guests will talk about afterward.

Heavy Florals Minimalism has had a good run. We’re ready for more flowers. Couples are going all in on floral design. And we don’t just mean a big

bouquet and some centerpieces. We’re talking flowers climbing up ceremony structures, overflowing tables, hanging installations, florallined aisles, statement arrangements, and entire spaces transformed by flowers. The fun part is that “more flowers” doesn’t have to mean traditional. Florals can be sculptural, colorful, wild, monochromatic, romantic, or completely unexpected. Instead of asking, “Where do we need flowers?” couples are asking, “How can flowers completely change this space?”

Wedding Cake Alternatives Listen, we love cake. But your wedding dessert does not have to be a five-tier white wedding cake. Couples are getting much more creative with dessert, and some of our favorites include cannoli, croquembouche, pies, cookies, doughnuts, gelato, vintage heart cakes, and giant dessert tables. You can even have a small cake for cutting and then serve something completely different to your guests. And why not? If you and your fiancé would pick cannoli over cake every single time, have cannoli. Your wedding should be full of things you love, not things you included because someone told you that every wedding needs them.

Statement Dance Floors 757-608-8510 infinitycoordinator@outlook.com www.infinitycoordinator.com

Where elegance meets warmth

The dance floor has officially become part of the décor. We’re seeing custom dance floors with checkerboard patterns, bold graphics, colorful designs, monograms, florals, and artwork that coordinates with the rest of the wedding. And we love this because the dance floor is already going to be the center of the party. Why not make it a statement? It also happens to be one of those details that photographs well. Your first dance, your friends packed onto the dance floor, your champagne spray, your late-night chaos… all of it happens right there. So let it be fun.

Espresso Martinis Is the espresso martini technically a wedding trend? Maybe not. Does that mean we’re taking it off the list? Absolutely not. Espresso martinis have become a wedding staple, and we understand why. They’re fun, photograph well, and keep the party going. We’re seeing couples make them even more personal with custom cocktail menus, fun glassware, branded napkins, espresso martini towers, and signature variations. If your wedding starts at 5 p.m. and your guests are still dancing at 11 p.m., that little hit of caffeine might be exactly what everyone needs.

Late-Night Bites You can serve the fanciest dinner in the world, and at 11:30 p.m., your guests are still going to want fries. Late-night bites have become one of our favorite wedding details because they’re fun, unexpected, and useful.

Some fun ideas are: pizza, sliders, tacos, chicken sandwiches, fries, breakfast sandwiches, soft pretzels, mini grilled cheeses. Whatever your thing is, serve it! This is another place where you can make your wedding feel personal. Maybe it’s the fast-food craving you always get after a night out, or your

favorite pizza spot. Whatever it is, your guests will probably be very happy to see food coming out when they thought dinner was long over.

Wedding Weekends The wedding day is important, but we’re loving the shift toward celebrating the whole weekend. Welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, casual happy hours, pool days, morning-after brunches, and post-wedding hangs are giving couples more time with the people they love. And these events don’t have to be another formal production.

The Candy Lady PRESENTATION IS EVERYTHING!

Kimie James Photography

A welcome party can be pizza and cocktails. A rehearsal dinner can be a backyard cookout. The morning after can be coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and everyone sitting around talking about the night before. Especially if your guests are traveling for your wedding, a wedding weekend gives everyone a chance to spend time together instead of saying hello during cocktail hour and goodbye at the reception.

Your love story deserves to be felt in every beat and every detail. The Euresti Co

Make It Yours If there’s one thing all these trends have in common, it’s that couples are making their weddings feel more like them. This could mean a completely custom invitation suite, covering the reception in flowers, skipping the traditional cake for cannoli, serving espresso martinis all night, or bringing out pizza at midnight. Possibilities are endless! There’s no prize for having the most traditional wedding. The weddings that stand out are the ones where you can look around the room and immediately know who the couple is. So, take the trends you love, skip the ones you don’t, and make the day your own. Your wedding doesn’t need to look like everyone else’s. It just needs to feel like yours.

Why Having a Day-of Wedding Coordinator Will Save Your Sanity Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

By Ashanti Neal A wedding takes months, sometimes years to plan. From the color palette to the seating chart, every detail has been thoughtfully curated. But when the big day finally arrives, the last thing you want to worry about is whether the florist delivered on time or if the DJ has the right playlist queued. That’s where a day-of coordinator comes in. Hiring one isn’t just a luxury, it’s often the secret ingredient that allows couples to truly enjoy their wedding without stress.

Someone to Manage the Chaos Even the most perfectly planned wedding can hit a few bumps. Deliveries might run late, décor may need adjusting, or family members could have questions at every turn. A day-of coordinator is your built-in problem solver. They’re the ones who step in, smooth out the wrinkles, and keep everything moving according to schedule – without you ever knowing a hiccup occurred. Instead of being pulled in five different directions, you get to sip champagne, take photos, and soak in the joy of the moment.

The Gift of Delegation Many couples underestimate just how much work happens behind the scenes on the wedding day. Setting up centerpieces, making sure the caterer knows where to unload, organizing the bridal party for the processional – those are not tasks you want your mom, maid of honor, or best man juggling. When you hire a coordinator, these responsibilities shift off your shoulders and onto a professional who thrives in that environment. Your loved ones can relax and celebrate, instead of running around with clipboards and timelines.

Keeping the Day on Track Timing is everything at a wedding. The ceremony needs to begin when the guests are seated, the dinner service must flow smoothly, and you definitely don’t want to miss your sparkler send-off because no one told the DJ it was time. A coordinator acts as the conductor of your wedding day orchestra. They cue vendors, direct the wedding party, and make 10

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

sure the timeline you worked so hard to create actually happens. Without someone managing those moving parts, it’s easy for the day to spiral into delays and confusion.

Peace of Mind for You and Your Partner Perhaps the most valuable part of having a coordinator is intangible: peace of mind. Knowing that a professional is there to advocate for your vision allows you to be fully present. Instead of double-checking the cake delivery or worrying about whether the décor looks right, you can focus on the person you’re marrying. Those are the moments you’ll remember - not whether the napkins were folded correctly.

A Smoother Experience for Guests Guests might not notice the hours you spent comparing linen swatches, but they will notice whether the day flows smoothly. When things run late or feel disorganized, it can take away from the celebratory mood. A coordinator ensures your friends and family have the best possible experience - welcomed, guided, and free from confusion.

The Bottom Line A wedding day should feel joyful, not like a stressful event you’re managing behind the scenes. A day-of coordinator is more than a nice-to-have; they’re your safeguard against overwhelm. By trusting a professional to handle the logistics, you’re giving yourself permission to let go, celebrate fully, and enjoy the day you’ve been dreaming about. In short, hiring a day-of coordinator doesn’t just save time – it saves your sanity. Ashanti Neal is the owner and lead planner of J.J. Ash Events and Designs. The Secret to Stunning Wedding Photos?

YOUR VENDOR TEAM

The Euresti Co

You spend months creating that perfect inspiration board – luminous ceremony, glowing reception, and effortlessly romantic, magazine-worthy portraits. You've found the photographer who gets your vision, but here's a secret: photography doesn't happen in a vacuum. The quality of your final wedding gallery is actually shaped by every single vendor involved. Understanding this collaboration is essential if you want your final photos to match the dreams you've been saving. 14

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

The Euresti Co

The Euresti Co

Of course, an experienced photographer brings the technical genius, creative direction, and the ability to adapt. They're pros at handling harsh sunlight, dim ballrooms, and timelines that move at warp speed. They can find your best angles and guide you into a natural pose in a split second. But even the most seasoned pro can't magically undo major environmental challenges. Lighting, design, and coordination directly impact what is even possible for them to capture.

1. Lighting Designers & Planners: The Mood Setter Lighting is, hands down, one of the most critical factors. A planner or lighting designer who makes ambiance a priority can completely transform a space, both visually and photographically. Think soft overhead lights, balanced candlelight, and intentional spotlights — that's what creates depth and clarity in an image. On the flip side, harsh, colored uplights or a reception space that’s dark can distort skin tones and completely obscure details. A seasoned photographer can adapt in editing, but they cannot completely reverse challenging lighting conditions. 16

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

The Euresti Co

The Euresti Co

2. Florals & Decor: The Composition

4. Coordination: The Timekeeper

Your flowers and decor aren't just pretty; they are crucial visual elements. High-quality arrangements with an intentional color palette simply photograph differently than sparse or mismatched designs. Textures, layers, and cohesive tones add a richness to your images that elevates the entire composition. When your florist and designer are thoughtful collaborators, they give your photographer so much more visual artistry to work with.

This might be the most underrated factor. A planner who builds a realistic timeline ensures there is ample breathing room for portraits, detail shots, and travel time. Without that structure, the photography process gets rushed, and those beautiful, relaxed moments can be missed entirely. Strong coordination guarantees your photographer has the time and the right conditions to create their best work.

3. Hair & Makeup: The Camera-Ready Finish

The bottom line is that great wedding photography is a team effort. Hiring talented vendors across the board does more than just enhance your event, it directly impacts how your day is documented. When every professional contributes their expertise, your photographer is free to focus entirely on artistry instead of constantly problem-solving.

This is an essential component. Professional artists truly understand how makeup translates on camera and under different lighting conditions. Techniques that look subtle in person can disappear in a photograph if not applied correctly. Skilled artists balance coverage, contour, and tone to ensure you look polished, radiant, and exactly like yourself, both in real life and in your final gallery.

For couples hoping their final photos truly match the beautiful inspiration boards they've saved for months, assembling the right vendor team is just as important as choosing the right photographer.

Welcome Party & Engagement Party Ideas The wedding doesn’t have to be the only party you throw. Whether celebrating an engagement or kicking off the wedding weekend, these smaller events are a chance to loosen up a little, have fun with your guests, and do something that feels completely different from the wedding itself. A welcome party does not need to be a formal dinner with assigned seating. An engagement party doesn’t need to be a cocktail party in a ballroom. Think about what you and your people like t o do and start there.

Pizza & Cocktails Keep it simple. Rent out a favorite pizza spot, bring in a pizza truck, or have your favorite local pizzeria cater. Add cocktails, beer, wine, good music, and you’re done. This is especially fun for a welcome party because it gives everyone an easy way to mingle before the wedding weekend begins.

Backyard Dinner Party If you have access to a great backyard, use it. Long tables, candles, string lights, a great playlist, and a family-style dinner can feel incredibly special without feeling overly formal. This is also a great opportunity to incorporate family recipes or foods that mean something to you as a couple.

Pool Party For a summer wedding, we love the idea of leaning into the season. Pool party but make it a wedding weekend. Have cute towels, frozen cocktails, sunglasses, poolside snacks, and a playlist that makes everyone want to stay awhile. Guests can come and go, which makes it feel much more relaxed than another scheduled event. Pro tip: Some wedding venues offer pool rentals even when the wedding is being held elsewhere.

Bar or Brewery Night If your idea of a perfect night is grabbing drinks with your favorite people, do exactly that. Reserve a section of your favorite bar, brewery, or cocktail spot and let everyone hang out. No elaborate entertainment required. Sometimes the best welcome party is simply giving everyone a drink and letting them catch up.

Brunch Who says an engagement party must happen at night? A brunch can be such a fun option, especially for couples who aren’t interested in a traditional cocktail party. Think mimosas, espresso martinis, pancakes, pastries, and a good playlist. Bonus points for a dress code.

Your engagement party or welcome party doesn’t need to be another event you have to perfectly execute. It can be the night where you get to be a little less traditional, try something unexpected, and spend time with the people who are about to celebrate one of the biggest moments of your life with you. The Wedding Day Timeline: First Look vs. No First Look One of the first timeline decisions couples make is whether they want to see each other before the ceremony. While the choice is emotional, it also has a pretty big impact on how the rest of the wedding day flows. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Each choice comes with its own benefits and creates a different pace for the day. Below is a look at what a typical wedding day might look like with a first look versus waiting until the ceremony.

Reception

The biggest advantage of a first look is simple: many of the photos are done before the ceremony. Instead of spending the entire cocktail hour taking family portraits while guests are enjoying drinks and appetizers, you can walk into it with most of the formal photos already finished.

If you’ve always imagined walking down the aisle and seeing your fiancé for the very first time, this is the timeline. There is something really special about spending the morning completely separate and building that anticipation throughout the day. The catch is that you will need to plan for more photography after the ceremony.

It also gives you more time together. You get to see your fiancé and have a few quiet minutes together before the day gets too busy. And for couples who really want to attend their own cocktail hour, this timeline can be a game changer.

Photos of the family, wedding party, and you the couple will all take place after officially getting married. Depending on how large these groups are, that can take anywhere from thirty minutes to well over an hour.

You might even get 20 or 30 minutes to yourselves before the reception. Grab a drink, eat some appetizers, take a breath, and let it sink in that you just got married.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoy drinks and appetizers while you’re off taking photos, and you may not make it there at all. Some couples are totally fine with that. Others really want to experience that part of the day with their guests. That is where the timeline decision becomes less about photography and more about what you want the day to feel like.

The tradeoff? Seeing each other before the ceremony. For some couples, that is a huge positive.

28

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

There isn't one perfect choice. If the biggest priority is having that traditional aisle moment, skipping the first look may be the obvious choice. If it is spending more of the day together, getting photos early, and attending cocktail hour, a first look can make a huge difference. There are also plenty of options in between. You could do a first look with dad or bridesmaids but save that moment with your fiancé for the aisle. You could exchange letters without seeing each other or have a private “first touch” where you hold hands around a corner without seeing one another. Or skip all of that and simply keep the whole morning separate. Your wedding day isn't a production needing optimization. If seeing your fiancé before the ceremony would make you feel more relaxed and excited, do it. If the thought of waiting until the aisle gives you chills in the best way, wait. The timeline should work for you, not the other way around.

WHAT COUPLES ARE CRAVING IN 2027 & BEYOND

Wedding food is entering a new era. For 2027 and 2028, couples are moving beyond the idea of simply choosing options off a brochure and are thinking more intentionally. Cuisine is becoming part of the design, entertainment, storytelling, and overall guest experience, with food that feels personal, unexpected, and distinctly its own. The result? Wedding catering that feels less like a traditional reception meal and more like part of the celebration itself. 34

Celebrating 44 years of catering the most delicious events! help@homemadesbysuzanne.com 804-798-8331 www.homemadesbysuzanne.com

Here are the trends shaping the future of wedding food.

1. Food Becomes an Experience, Not Just a Meal The days of simply sitting down and waiting for the next course are evolving. Couples are creating dining experiences that invite guests to interact, explore, and watch their food come to life. Live-fire cooking, chef-attended stations, made-to-order pasta, sushi rolling, wood-fired pizza, tableside finishing, and dramatic dessert presentations all turn food into part of the entertainment.

from a meaningful destination, or a modern interpretation of something the couple grew up eating. In 2027 and 2028, we expect this storytelling to become even more nuanced. Instead of naming a signature cocktail after the couple or adding a favorite dessert, entire menus can be built around shared memories, family traditions, cultural heritage, or places that have shaped their relationship.

3. Food as Part of the Overall Design Grazing tables, sculptural desserts, beautifully styled hors d'oeuvres, specialty bars, colorful cocktails, and dramatic tableside presentations can all become design elements within the reception. We're moving beyond food that is simply “Instagram-worthy.” Instead, couples are

The next evolution is making these interactions feel even more intentional. Rather than adding an interactive station because it's fun, couples are choosing culinary moments that complement the overall personality and atmosphere.

2. Menus That Tell the Your Story Options may include a family recipe, a dish inspired by a favorite vacation, ingredients Fingerprint Photo Studio

thinking about how food fits into the larger aesthetic of the celebration. From the colors and textures of the menu to the way dishes are displayed and how guests encounter them throughout the evening are being taken into consideration.

4. Multi-Sensory Dining Takes Center Stage Couples are increasingly interested in dining that engages multiple senses - the aroma of live-fire cooking, the sound and spectacle of a tableside preparation, the contrast between hot and chilled dishes, unexpected textures, or desserts finished in front of guests. Even small details can create a sense of occasion.

The Euresti Co

5. Cultural Heritage Meets Personal Storytelling Global flavors will continue to influence wedding food, but the conversation is becoming more personal. Rather than incorporating international dishes because they're popular, food is being used to celebrate heritage, family traditions, travel, and the cultures that have shaped their lives. Bao buns, dumplings, tacos, samosas, bánh mì, regional street foods, seafood bars, and other globally inspired dishes can all find a place when they're thoughtfully connected to the couple's story. Authenticity will matter more than novelty. The most memorable ones won't just borrow from a cuisine; they'll give guests a reason to understand why it matters.

6. Plant-Forward Plant-forward dining is becoming a natural part of the menu planning rather than a 37

special category reserved for guests with dietary restrictions. Couples are looking for vegetarian and vegan dishes that are creative and satisfying on their own, while also making sure guests with gluten, allergen, and other dietary needs can enjoy the celebration without feeling like an afterthought. Sustainability is also becoming more integrated into the culinary conversation. Seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, thoughtful purchasing, reduced food waste, and intentional planning can all contribute to a more sustainable celebration.

7. The Rise of the Second Meal Late-night dining is evolving, giving another opportunity to surprise their guests. Sliders, mini tacos, gourmet pizza, breakfast sandwiches, truffle fries, loaded potatoes, gelato, and other nostalgic favorites can make a late-night appearance once the dancing is in full swing. The most memorable pairings strike a balance between elevated and playful, champagne with mini breakfast biscuits, espresso martinis with truffle fries, or a gelato cart appearing just as guests think the food portion of the evening is over. Late-night food will feel less like a snack and more like a second chapter.

8. The Bar Goes Beyond the Cocktail The beverage program is getting just as much

attention as the food. Custom cocktails, elevated mocktails, specialty coffee, tableside cocktail preparation, curated wine pairings, and interactive beverage stations are give new ways to personalize the bar. Nonalcoholic drinks are also becoming more sophisticated, with fresh ingredients, house-made syrups, creative garnishes, and thoughtful presentation making them feel like an intentional part rather than an alternative for guests who aren't drinking. We're also seeing more opportunities to connect food and beverage together, pairing cocktails with passed bites, desserts with espresso drinks, or late-night snacks with signature beverages.

9. More Variety, Less Formality One of the biggest shifts in wedding dining is the desire for variety. Instead of relying entirely on a traditional sequence of courses, couples can create menus that allow guests to sample different flavors throughout the celebration. Passed bites, shared plates, chef-attended stations, tasting portions, grazing displays, multiple dessert selections, and late-night offerings all create opportunities for guests to discover something new. The future of wedding dining may be less about choosing between plated or buffet and more about creating a combination of culinary moments that keeps guests engaged throughout the evening.

38

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

The Euresti Co

10. Highly Personalized Ultimately, the biggest trend for 2027 and 2028 may be personalization itself. Couples are moving away from the idea that there is one perfect menu. Instead, they're creating ones that reflect their personalities, families, cultures, travels, and the atmosphere they want to create for guests. That might mean a formal multi-course dinner paired with a late-night food truck. It might mean a beautifully styled grazing display followed by a chef-driven tasting experience. Or it could mean a menu built almost entirely around family recipes and childhood favorites. The most exciting wedding menus are the ones that feel intentional from beginning to end.

7 Wedding Trends to Watch By Brandi Mata Wedding planning comes with an almost endless stream of ideas and inspiration. One minute the focus is on venues, and the next it’s table settings, flowers, seating charts, and countless other details. With so many possibilities to consider, the process can quickly start to feel overwhelming. One noticeable shift in weddings is that couples seem less interested in copying what others have done. Instead, they’re taking ideas they love and finding ways to make them their own. It’s a trend that brings more personality to the celebration and helps ensure no two weddings feel exactly alike. Here’s a look at what’s making its way into weddings right now.

1

Color is back.

White, ivory, and black remain classic choices, but lately more couples have been incorporating additional color into their palettes. Deep greens, terracotta, soft blues, colorful flowers, and even patterned linens have been making appearances. You don’t have to make everything bright to make a statement. Sometimes changing the napkins or adding colored glassware is enough to make the whole room feel different.

2

Lounge furniture isn’t just for looks. Lounge seating certainly photographs beautifully, but it also serves a practical purpose. Guests genuinely enjoy having a comfortable place to sit, relax, and spend time together.

The Euresti Co

During cocktail hour, it gives guests a relaxing place to gather. Later in the night, you’ll usually find grandparents resting their feet, parents visiting with family, or friends taking a break from the dance floor before heading back out. It’s one of those rentals people don’t always think about at first, but it usually stays occupied all evening.

42

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

3

The bar has become part of the décor. Bars have turned into a focal point instead of something tucked away in the corner.

An empty venue can look completely different once the tables, chairs, linens, lighting, and décor are in place. You don’t always need to spend more money to get that “wow” factor. Choosing rentals that fit the space and work well together can make a bigger difference than people realize.

Couples are decorating the bar area with flowers, custom signs, shelves, and signature drinks that have funny stories or meaningful names behind them. It gives guests something to talk about while they’re waiting in line, and it ties everything together without feeling overdone.

4

Guests like being part of the celebration. People remember experiences.

Audio guest books have become a fun alternative to the traditional guest book. Photo booths are still a hit for both the young and old. Late night snacks are always appreciated too. By the time dancing has been going for a few hours, everyone is ready for a bite to eat. Little things like this help keep the energy up throughout the night.

Fingerprint Photo Studio

The Euresti Co

5

Couples are thinking about guest comfort. Outdoor weddings aren’t going anywhere, but couples are putting more thought into planning for the weather.

Some ideas are fans for summer ceremonies, blankets when the evenings are cool, water stations, or even baskets with sunscreen are small details that show you’ve thought about your guests. Most people won’t remember every centerpiece, but they’ll remember if they were comfortable.

6

Rentals can completely change a venue.

7

Personal touches never go out of style. This is probably the biggest trend we’ve noticed.

Couples are serving favorite foods, honoring family traditions, writing personal vows, bringing beloved dogs into the ceremony, or adding little details that reflect their story. Those are the moments people remember years later because they feel genuine. At the end of the day, the wedding doesn’t have to look like the ones filling your social media feed. The best ones are those that feel comfortable, personal, and true to who you are. Trends are fun, but they’re just ideas. The details that mean something to you are what guests will remember long after the last song plays. Brandi Mata is a member of the Rent-E-Quip team, where she helps couples throughout Central Virginia choose rentals that fit their style, venue, and budget. She enjoys seeing each wedding come together and loves how thoughtful details can completely transform a space.

The transformation of a room from an empty space to a fully designed celebration can be remarkable.

Choosing the Color Palette for Your Dream Wedding Choosing a wedding color palette is about more than picking a few favorite shades. Color helps establish the mood, tie together details, and give the entire celebration a sense of direction. Whether you’re drawn to something soft and understated, bold and saturated, or somewhere in between, use these palettes as a starting point for creating a look that feels distinctly yours.

5 Reasons to Say “Yes” to Engagement Photos

By Kieran Segaloff The debate over whether to have an engagement session is a big one. While there are plenty of reasons to book one, there’s an even stronger case for having an engagement session with the photographer who will be capturing your wedding day. Not only will you get those stunning portraits for save-the-dates or wedding-day signage, but you’ll be able to connect with your photographer, learn how they work, and feel more comfortable in front of the camera.

1. No Stranger Jitters On the wedding day, the person you'll spend the most time with is the photographer. They are there for all the major moments: getting ready, seeing your partner for the first time, crying during toasts, and celebrating the grand exit. It's important to feel safe and comfortable with the person you'll be spending so much of the day with. An engagement session provides a chance to meet each other, chat in person, get to know their vibe, and let them get to know

50

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

you. They will learn what makes you and your partner feel comfortable, so the trial and error of posing happens before and not during the wedding day. Some couples want direction every step of the way, while others thrive with a loose prompt. By the time the wedding day arrives, that connection is already established, allowing the photographer to feel more like a familiar friend than a stranger behind the camera.

Fingerprint Photo Studio

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

2. An Opportunity to Provide Feedback Maybe the connection wasn’t quite what was expected, or perhaps most of the engagement gallery was perfect, but a few things could be done differently. The session may reveal a preference for fewer kissing or PDA photos and more romantic moments with handholding and hugs. Or maybe those smiling-at-the-camera photos ended up being more appealing than originally expected after choosing a documentary-style approach. This is an opportunity to communicate preferences so they'll already know what makes you happy on the big day. Wedding photographers genuinely want to create images that are treasured for years to come. They find joy in your joy, and the best way to learn what you love is through honest feedback.

3. Have a Fun Date Night An engagement session can be entirely unique to each couple and, most importantly, should be a fun experience. Beyond receiving beautiful photos together, it’s also a chance to create a special memory during the fleeting season of being engaged. It's such a short and magical chapter between dating and the beginning of forever. Plan dinner afterward. Choose a favorite date-night spot, or order takeout and look through the gallery together while gushing over favorite moments.

4. Wedding Day Portraits Will Feel More Genuine By the time the wedding day arrives, being in front of the camera will already feel more familiar and comfortable. There's no awkward feeling of trying something new. Instead, it's just you, your partner,

Fingerprint Photo Studio

and the photographer having a fantastic time together while documenting one of the best days of your lives. Providing feedback from the engagement session can create the best experience possible on the wedding day. They’ll already understand how the couple interacts, what brings out genuine laughter, and the little things that help everyone relax in front of the camera. With that familiarity already established, the focus can remain on enjoying the day with confidence that the photography is in good hands and the final images will be ones to love.

5. Ask Questions For many couples, this is the first wedding they've ever planned, and the amount of conflicting advice from social media, magazines, Google searches, and family members can be overwhelming. Your photographer has done this before and has likely photographed dozens, if not hundreds, of them. If you aren't sure whether something that is being considered is possible, just ask! Timelines, family portraits, lighting, and locations are all great topics to discuss beforehand. If you’re worried that there's something that won't go smoothly, chances are they’ve seen it before and can help come up with a plan. Most couples leave their engagement session feeling more confident, not only about their photographer, but about the entire planning process. Kieran Segaloff is a Virginia wedding photographer who believes the best images come from real moments, genuine emotions, and being fully present. Through Fingerprint Photo Studio, Kieran captures heartfelt, documentaryinspired photographs for couples who want their wedding memories to feel authentic, joyful, and uniquely theirs. Five Wedding Photography Trends Shaping 2027 Weddings are no longer centered solely on the ceremony. Couples are designing immersive experiences that place equal emphasis on celebration, connection, and storytelling. As priorities shift, photography trends are evolving. Today’s couples want imagery that captures not just how their wedding looked, but how it felt. Here are five defining wedding photography trends shaping the year ahead.

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

1

Guest Experience Takes Center Stage

Intentionally curated weddings that feel interactive rather than observational are gaining popularity. This shift is influencing how photographers approach coverage. Instead of focusing exclusively on portraits and formal moments, photographers are documenting guest reactions, candid laughter, and participation in activities. Champagne towers, live painters, and interactive food stations all create movement and emotion, which translate beautifully on camera.

2

Documentary Style Over Perfect Posing

Highly posed photos are becoming less of the focus. Timeless portraits still matter, but the real magic often comes from the candid, unscripted moments in between. Photographers are paying closer attention to what’s happening in real time – the reactions, the laughter, the quick glances people share. Those unscripted moments often become the most meaningful images of the day.

The Euresti Co

3

Editorial Portraits with Personality

While candid coverage is on the rise, editorial inspired portraits still have their place. The difference in 2026 is personalization. Couples are requesting portraits that reflect their style, whether that means fashion forward poses, dramatic lighting, or unconventional compositions. Photographers are blending editorial direction with authenticity, so images feel polished without losing personality.

4

Film Inspired Aesthetics

Digital photography still dominates, yet many photographers are incorporating film inspired tones and textures into their editing or shooting hybrid coverage with both film and digital formats. Couples are drawn to the nostalgic softness, natural grain, and subtle color shifts associated with film.

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

5

Intentional Lighting Design

Lighting is no longer treated as a technical detail. Couples and planners are recognizing that lighting design directly affects how a wedding photographs. Candlelit receptions, layered uplighting, and spotlights create dimension and mood. Photographers are collaborating more closely with planners and lighting teams to ensure each moment is captured in its best possible form. Ultimately, the defining theme across 2026 wedding photography trends is intentionality. Couples are planning experiences with storytelling in mind, and photographers are adapting their approach to reflect that vision. The result is imagery that feels immersive, emotional, and deeply personal. Weddings are no longer just documented. They are artfully preserved.

WHAT HAPPENS IN BETWEEN

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

By Anna Gibbs A wedding day can be busy, fast-paced, and filled with moving parts, but some of the most meaningful memories are found in the quieter, in-between moments. The way the light falls across the room in the morning, a few extra seconds spent looking out the window, or the anticipation that builds as the day unfolds. These are the small details that make each entirely its own. There are so many subtle details on a wedding day that often go unnoticed. Ones like the quiet exhale before you step into your dress or button your jacket, the way your partner’s shoulders drop when they finally see you; the pause before a laugh, the way hands find each other instinctively. These moments don’t announce themselves; they live in the margins. They’re subtle and they’re fleeting…and they’re everything.

64

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

Fingerprint Photo Studio

Photography & videography will always have ever-evolving trends, but the way your wedding day unfolds cannot be manufactured or predicted or replicated like a trend. Timelines, details, and playlists can be planned, but you can’t choreograph how it feels to be there. You can’t script the way emotion moves through your chest or through the room. A good documentarian gets to see all of this and capture it without interfering. They’re there to witness it, move quietly through the spaces you’re moving through, notice what’s happening while you’re busy living it, and capture it from every angle that reflects the beauty it organically holds. The sweeping moments and big, wide frames, the soft light and the veil lifting in

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

Anna Gibbs Photo + Video

the air - all of these things matter. They give context and texture and help shape the story. But what matters even more is seeing you. Not as a subject or as another couple to document – but seeing you for the way you lean into each other when you’re nervous, and for the way you laugh, and the way you move through the day together. All the quiet, specific, human things that make you exactly who you are, and why you fell in love with each other in the first place.

Years from now, you won’t remember what editing style was popular, you’ll remember how it felt to stand there together, the glances, the way your chest felt before walking down the aisle, the sound of your friends clinking their glasses in celebration, the way your partner held your hand a little tighter than usual. The most aligned photographer and videographer for you will reflect it all back in a way that leaves you feeling so very seen.

The wedding day doesn’t need to be performed or perfected for the camera. It doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s or follow whatever aesthetic is circulating online at that instant. It just needs space to breathe. Space for real moments, space for softness, space for whatever shows up naturally.

Because that’s what lasts! Anna Gibbs is a photographer, filmmaker, and founder of Anna Gibbs Photo + Video LLC. After graduating from VCUarts in 2017, she found her way into wedding land and has since documented hundreds of celebrations along the East Coast and beyond. Her documentary work focuses on honest moments, natural emotion and what makes each couple unique. Peruse at annagibbs.com!

CHOOSING IN-SEASON WEDDING FLOWERS When dreaming about wedding flowers, the first instinct is often to search Pinterest for favorite blooms. While inspo boards are a great place to begin, one factor that can dramatically affect the final cost of floral design is seasonality. Simply put, flowers that naturally bloom during the time of your wedding are usually easier for florists to source, more abundant, and therefore more budget-friendly. Richmond’s climate allows for a beautiful range of flowers throughout the year. Planning with the seasons in mind can stretch a floral budget while still delivering a stunning look.

SPRING

(March–May) Spring is one of the most popular wedding seasons in Central Virginia for good reason. Many flowers are naturally blooming. Tulips, ranunculus, anemones, sweet peas, lilac, and peonies begin appearing during this time. Garden roses and flowering branches are also common. Because these blooms are widely available in spring, they tend to be more affordable and look especially fresh and lush. Spring arrangements often feel romantic and airy, with soft pastels or vibrant garden colors.

SUMMER

(June–August) Summer weddings in Richmond bring bold color and plenty of texture. Popular seasonal blooms include dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, and lisianthus. Hydrangeas, often grown locally, are also abundant and make beautiful statement flowers for centerpieces and bouquets. Because many of these flowers grow well in the region, florists can often source them from nearby farms, which keeps costs manageable while giving designs a fresh, locally grown feel.

FALL

(September–November) Autumn weddings often feature rich colors and natural textures. Dahlias continue into early fall and remain a favorite for bouquets. Chrysanthemums, marigolds, amaranthus, and celosia are also common during this season. Florists frequently incorporate foliage such as eucalyptus, maple leaves, and berry branches to create warmth and depth. Because many of these elements are plentiful in fall, they help create full, dramatic designs without relying on expensive imported blooms.

WINTER

(December–February) Winter weddings may require a bit more creativity, since fewer flowers are naturally in season locally. However, beautiful options still exist. Roses, ranunculus, hellebores, anemones, and orchids are commonly used, often paired with winter greenery like pine, cedar, and eucalyptus. While some flowers may need to be imported, using seasonal greenery and thoughtful design can still create elegant arrangements without pushing the budget too far.

The key takeaway? Trust your florist’s guidance. By building designs around flowers that naturally bloom near your wedding date, you’ll often get better quality blooms, fuller arrangements, and a more efficient use of your floral budget, all while embracing the beauty of the season in Richmond.

K

atie and Brian’s love story began in 2008, when Katie was a college student shadowing her physician father and Brian was a medical student. Her dad thought she would learn more from the medical students, so he paired the two of them together for the summer. They crossed paths throughout the years that followed, but it wasn’t until 2023 that they officially went on their first date. Katie and Brian’s story has always felt meant to be. Her dad was the one who first introduced them, while Brian’s parents were ultimately the ones who brought them back together. Their story is even more meaningful because Katie’s dad passed away in 2022, making his role in bringing them together an especially sentimental part of their relationship. Brian proposed on August 4, 2024, in Germany, on a lake outside Neuschwanstein Castle. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts was a natural choice for the wedding as it was the site of Katie and Brian’s first date, and it brought the couple’s story full circle in a beautifully personal way. Katie describes the wedding as sentimental, intentional, joyous, and simply “us.” Nearly every detail reflected that philosophy. Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests signed a piece of red silk, incorporating a Chinese wedding tradition. Brian also drew their wedding invitations with an outline of the VMFA, which became a recurring motif throughout the day. The couple continued the DIY details from there. Katie embroidered the table numbers, while Brian built the wooden display stands. Katie’s engineer brother even created their wedding cake, complete with a custom LED-lit drawing of the VMFA based on Brian’s invitation design. At each place setting, guests also discovered a personal note from the couple tucked onto the back of their place card, a thoughtful surprise to make everyone feel especially included. For Katie and Brian, the most memorable part of the day was simply having all of their friends and family together to celebrate their marriage. Their advice to other couples: “Plan a wedding that feels truly personal to you.”

lizabeth and Luke first met through mutual friends nearly 10 years ago. They mostly crossed paths only at parties and events, never spending too much time together one-on-one. Luke’s best friend is Elizabeth’s friend’s younger brother, so their circles naturally overlapped. “We would always see each other at their family parties and events, but I never thought Luke would be interested as I am 5 years older.” Then one day, everything changed thanks to a stray dog. While driving home from work, Elizabeth spotted a dog running across the street. Knowing Luke lived a few houses down, she pulled into his driveway, hoping he wouldn’t be home, and tried to catch it. She wasn’t successful, and when she went to leave, Luke pulled into the driveway and caught her there instead. A few weeks later, in the spring of 2003, Luke texted Elizabeth with a simple question about the dress code for a friend’s engagement party. That message sparked a conversation, and the two spent the entire night together at the event. A week later, they went on their first date, marking the start of a relationship neither had quite expected. Around a year and a half later, Luke proposed on October 4, 2024, during a weekend getaway to The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. Being too nervous to wait until dinner, Luke popped the question in their hotel room! For the August wedding, Elizabeth envisioned an elegant garden party that blended the beauty of the outdoors with an elevated, romantic feel. Keeping as much of the celebration outside as possible was a priority with a lively reception, a great band, and plenty of time spent under the summer sky. Luckily, they were blessed with beautiful weather! One of the biggest wow moments was the tent entrance, which came together beautifully and set the tone for the celebration. Elizabeth also chose not to have a first look, opting instead for the traditional moment of Luke seeing her for the first time as she walked down the aisle with her dad. Their wedding was a celebration of tradition, thoughtful details, and the people who brought them together in the first place.

amantha and Kole’s story began in 2019, about a year before they began dating. From their very first conversation they instantly hit it off, bonding over a shared love of animals. A friend remarked that they seemed like the perfect match – a comment that was brushed off at the time but would later prove surprisingly accurate. Over the next year their paths continued to cross, turning a casual acquaintance into friendship and eventually into something more. After a little over three years together filled with growth, memories, and plenty of adventure, Kole proposed during a family trip to Turks and Caicos on December 18th, 2023. It was Samantha’s first time out of the country, which already made the trip incredibly special. Kole’s parents, sister, and cousin were all in on the plan, making the moment even more meaningful. On their second day, Kole suggested a walk on the beach. As they strolled along the shore, Samantha began looking for shells, completely unaware of what was about to happen. A few moments later, while she was facing away, Kole came up behind her, took her hand, and turned her around. After a quick kiss, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. For the wedding day, the vision was a celebration that felt romantic, elegant, nature-inspired, heartfelt, and playful. Pinterest became a major source of inspiration, with warm lighting, candles, florals, and greenery helping create the atmosphere they had imagined. A playful twist on tradition added even more personality to the celebration. Instead of a garter toss, custom wedding shirts were shot from a cannon, creating one of Samantha’s favorite photo moments of the day. Since saying “I do,” the couple has been busy building their life together and celebrating another exciting milestone. They are preparing to open the storefront for Kole Tang Aquatics, the business Kole started just a few months after their engagement. They couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter and all that’s ahead!

oah and Ryanna met in the fall of 2024 after running into each other at a worship night at their church. What followed was a true case of “when you know, you know.” The two quickly became inseparable, and within a month, Ryanna was completely smitten. She knew there was something special about Noah from the very beginning. In fact, she began writing secret love notes to him, saving them to be opened on the day of their future engagement. Ryanna shares, “Some might have called it presumptuous, or maybe even a little wild”, but Ryanna simply knew. And, as it turned out, she was completely right. The following summer, on August 2nd, 2025, Noah had a plan. They went to Lost Letter for dinner, followed by a walk to the VMFA. Noah led her up to the terrace area overlooking the lawn, a place that had become special to the two of them. As they stood there that day, Noah fumbled through a few random conversation topics before slowing down and getting down on one knee. She said the easiest “yes” of her life! When it came time to plan their wedding, Ryanna and Noah envisioned a celebration that felt family-focused, romantic, festive, and full of endless dancing, all while honoring the spiritual foundation that brought them together. They embraced the season with a festive palette of wine red and mossy green, softened by blush pinks and pale greens in the bridesmaids’ dresses. One of the most unique elements of their day was a Christmas tree in place of a traditional gift table. Guests placed their gifts beneath the tree, adding another festive and personal touch to the celebration. They also hoped to wow their guests with the beauty of Mankin Mansion, creating a setting that felt both elegant and memorable. When asked about their favorite part of the day, Ryanna and Noah had an easy answer: the dancing. The couple and their loved ones truly tore up the dance floor, making memories they’ll never forget. Even the BEST Have a COACH. Make Your Marriage the G.O.A.T. By Chris Beach

I

n all the excitement of wedding planning, no one wants to think about divorce. Trust us, it is not something we want to talk about in a wedding magazine either. But with roughly over 50% of all marriages ending in divorce or separation, it is something we MUST address! After all, getting married is much more than planning for one day, it’s planning for the rest of your lives together. Now, what if we told you that there is something that you can do together as a couple to cut down your chances of experiencing divorce by 30%? You would do it, right? Studies show that attending premarital coaching as a couple will decrease your chances of divorce by a third. This is where the Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia comes in. Before you think we are putting the cart before the horse, let us explain. Strong men become strong husbands and strong husbands become strong fathers. If a man knows early on that the greatest gift he can give his children is to love their mother, then we must build upon the foundation — a strong, enduring marriage. FFVA’s mission is purpose-driven, educating men to be stronger husbands and more active fathers to drive true systemic change in the Commonwealth. To fulfill this mission, you must begin at the heart of the family; the relationships. Whether you’re single, engaged, married or in a longterm relationship, FFVA offers coaching and engaging programming that provide practical tools for building strong and fulfilling relationships. Chris Beach, CEO of FFVA states, “Many of the men we serve through our programs come from a family without a dad and never witnessed what a healthy relationship looks like.” Speaking from experience, Chris came from a broken home where he was stuck between his mom and dad going through a divorce. “When you are old enough 82

R I CH MOND WED D IN GS MAGAZINE

to understand what is going on between mom and dad, it makes you want to do better for your children”, says Beach. “My wife and I are raising four boys to not only be strong men but loving husbands and fathers.” In his role with the organization, he has worked with men from all backgrounds and situations and the one thing that he has never heard a man say is, “I want to be a bad dad.” Many of them just did not have one around to show the way. “When my dad wasn’t around, I looked up to my coach,” Chris continued. In a man’s life, if dad is not present, a coach likely fills that role. There are business coaches, athletic coaches, and even birth coaches. Eventually you will retire, your athletic career will come to an end, and once the baby is born, you achieved your goal. Isn’t your marriage supposed to last ‘til death do you part? Coaching does not mean that there is something wrong. It means that you want it to be the best it can be. If a lasting marriage is the goal, shouldn't a coach be there to help achieve happily ever after? According to studies, less than half of couples getting married go through pre-marital coaching. In addition, most people who are officiating weddings don’t even require it. But if the success rate of marriage increases because of coaching, shouldn’t you make it a priority? That’s a no-brainer! Coaching is different than counseling. Coaching starts where you are and gives couples the tools to be successful in their relationships. It is an opportunity to slow down

during wedding planning, connect with your spouse, talk about what will happen and COULD happen after you say I do, and the good and bad of being married. Topics that are covered in pre-marital coaching include communication, problem solving, finances, sex and affection, children, religious beliefs, and dealing with family. Are you still not sold on pre-marital coaching? Ask yourselves if you and your partner have had conversations about these few things: How many children do you want? And how soon? How much time will we spend with each other’s family? How would you handle a job loss or a sudden move? What roles do you find yourself taking around the house? What will you spend your money on? How often do you plan on being intimate? If you haven’t discussed these topics as a couple, many of them lead to conflict in a marriage. Studies show that the top reasons for arguments in a marriage are finances, sex, children, and IN-LAWS. Coaching offers a safe space for productive conversations, an opportunity to share your feelings, and growth as a couple.

Coaching is different than counseling. Coaching starts where you are and gives couples the tools to be successful in their relationships. And it doesn’t stop there! Strong relationships lead to wanting and having children. FFVA offers New Dad 101, a ‘Vegas’ conversation for New Dads by Real Dads, giving men a safe space to ask questions they’re embarrassed to ask in front of mom. A Real Dad talks you through what conversations you should have and what you should have done before the baby is born, what will happen in the hospital, and what to expect when you get home. Starting every class with the three guiding principles 1) there is no such thing as a perfect dad, 2) there is no such thing as a dumb question and 3) the most important relationship you will show your children is the one with their mom. This class gives new dads the confidence they need to be a part of their child’s life from when they first see the ultrasound to when they take their first steps. You can find all these programs and much more by going to their website at vadad.org. To make pre-marital coaching an even easier decision, the preassessment and four sessions of coaching are only $150. Considering the significant cost of a wedding and added expense if a divorce should occur, isn’t a fraction of the cost of both of those worth it? Even better, mention RVA Weddings and FFVA will take off $25 dollars. Know another couple getting married? Give them pre-marital coaching. Invest in a nice set of mixing bowls or invest in your marriage? You make the call. We have the coach that can help.

Think you would have trouble getting the man to buy in? That’s the beauty of our pre-marital programs. We are an organization that helps educate MEN. And it is not counseling, it is coaching. Reality is even Tom Brady and Michael Jordan had a coach. Tell him you want your marriage to be the G.O.A.T. The team from FFVA not only coach new couples, but they also coach couples who are getting remarried and blending families. They will help couples learn from previous relationships to create a stronger foundation and clearer communication for success in their new union.

To get started, go to wecoachcouples.org. If you still have questions, you can email admin@vadad.org. To learn about upcoming events, follow FFVA on Instagram @fatherhoodfoundationva.

Once you’re are part of FFVA, they will be with you for many of life’s big events. After the big day, they offer fun date night opportunities with relationship lessons built in. If you are the proactive type, grab a bunch of friends and host your own date night letting FFVA do all the planning. Whether you are looking to grow with couples you know, or meet new couples, FFVA offers opportunities to make memories, have fun, and learn tips to grow stronger together. R ICHM O NDW E DD I N G S . Q. What made you want to take control of your skin? A. My acne started in my younger teens which led to unbearable scarring. I didn’t know how to take care of my skin. I felt like I couldn't leave the house without piles of makeup on. It was time for me to finally do something about it, and I’m so glad that I did because I barely wear makeup anymore. I feel so much more confident and comfortable in my skin! Q. How far in advance did you start treatment? What treatments did you receive? A. I started treatment less than a year before my wedding, which I didn’t think was enough time. Dr. Agnihotri assured me that this was enough time to achieve my goals, and we got started a month later. I had two Hydrafacials and then two microneedling sessions. I also received Obagi® Rebalancing Cream, their medical grade skin care products. Q. How fast did you notice the results? A. After the first microneedling session, it was really kind of crazy. My husband, (fiancé at the time) said, “Oh my gosh, your skin looks so different. Are you wearing makeup?” And I said “No!” Q. What was your experience like with Dr. Agnihotri and the ACS Team? A. I cannot say enough good things about them. Dr. Agnihotri didn’t rush; he took the time to talk to me before each procedure and made me feel really calm throughout the whole process. There aren't a lot of people like him, it’s so refreshing. I can’t pinpoint exactly what to say about the team because everything sounds right. They made me feel so good, and their location is very convenient. Q. Is the investment worth it? A. Oh my gosh, yes! Also, I now know how to use skin care products properly because of Dr. Agnihotri. Q. Anything else you want to mention or any advice for current/future brides? A. Skin care is extremely important. You can put as much makeup on your face as you want, but at the end of the day, clear, beautiful skin is so worth it. Take care of your skin. Go have this experience, thank me later.

CATERER/FOOD/BEVERAGE Before you sign the contract, be sure to look at the food and beverage minimums. If you are looking to stay within a budget, limit the bar to beer and wine or add a little bit of personality with a signature beverage!

The Estate at Independence includes all these items as well as an onsite coordinator.

The Estate at Independence has lowered its rental fee to help ensure you have a fantastic meal at your reception!

DJ VS. BAND When making this decision, know the rules of the venue and the space available. A 5-piece band is going to need more space than a DJ!

Many places, like The Estate at Independence, welcome both.

A = Number of Guests

WINE:

B = Drinks required per guest

A x B x 0.5 ÷ 5 =

Based on length of party

750ml Bottles Needed

BEER:

A x B x 0.3 =

1 hour = 2 drinks 2 hours = 3 drinks 3 hours = 4 drinks 4 hours = 5 drinks 5 hours = 6 drinks

12 oz. Servings of Beer Needed

SPIRITS:

A x B x 0.2 ÷ 15 =

750ml Bottles Needed

Not serving cocktails? Plan on a mix of 60 percent wine, 40 percent beer. BEER:

WINE:

A x B x 0.6 ÷ 5 = 96
