A NOTE TO YOU FROM OUR PUBLISHER

INFLUENTIAL-MAGAZINE.COM

Welcome to 2026 There’s something quietly grounding about the beginning of a new year. Not because everything suddenly changes, but because we’re given space to reflect on how we want to move forward. January does not require urgency. It invites intention. And intention, when honored, shapes the way we think, live, and lead. As we open this January / February 2026 issue of InFluential Magazine, my hope is you feel both inspired and at ease. This issue was designed to meet you where you are. Thoughtful. Curious. Ready to step into the year with clarity rather than pressure. “Influence is not about how loudly we speak. It’s about how thoughtfully we choose.” As you move through this issue, you’ll notice a deliberate rhythm. Perspectives on leadership and career growth that invite clearer thinking. Creative expression that reflects personal evolution and shared culture. Practical lifestyle guidance that supports health, home, and everyday living. And closing reflections that encourage intention and forward movement. This balance is intentional. Influence is rarely one dimensional, and neither is the way we live our lives. At InFluential Magazine, we believe influence shows up in the details. In the decisions we make. In the environments we create. And in how we care for ourselves and plan for the

future. This issue reflects that belief through insight that’s useful, stories that feel human, and guidance meant to be lived with, not rushed through. “The most influential moments are often the ones that quietly realign us.” Rather than presenting resolutions to perfect or reinvention to chase, this issue focuses on progress that feels sustainable. Better choices. Clearer priorities. A more intentional approach to how we live and work. These pages are meant to be explored at your own pace, revisited when needed, and enjoyed without urgency. As the year begins, I invite you to consider what alignment looks like for you. Not in comparison to others, but in relationship to your own values, goals, and sense of purpose. When influence is rooted in alignment, it becomes both powerful and personal. “A well lived life is rarely rushed. It’s shaped through awareness and intention.” Thank you for starting the year with InFluential Magazine. We’re grateful to share this moment of reflection, inspiration, and possibility with you. May 2026 unfold with clarity, confidence, and quiet assurance as you move forward.

Warmly, William T. Jackson, ABA, B.Acy., MBA Publisher, InFluential Magazine

HOW

Influential

PEOPLE THINK

INFLUENCE IS OFTEN MISUNDERSTOOD. MANY ASSUME IT BELONGS TO THE LOUDEST VOICE IN THE ROOM, THE MOST VISIBLE BRAND, OR THE PERSON WITH THE LARGEST FOLLOWING. IN REALITY, TRUE INFLUENCE IS QUIETER, STEADIER, AND FAR MORE DELIBERATE. IT BEGINS LONG BEFORE A DECISION IS ANNOUNCED, A MESSAGE IS DELIVERED, OR A ROOM IS ENTERED.

I

nfluential people do not simply act differently. They think differently. Their power is rooted in mental discipline, emotional clarity, and a deep understanding of timing, language, and impact. This way of thinking is not accidental. It is cultivated.

18

FLUENTIAL JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

As we step into 2026, understanding how influential people think is more relevant than ever. The pace of the world continues to accelerate, yet those who truly move outcomes forward know when to slow down, observe, and choose their moments with intention.

Influence Begins Before the Room Is Entered The most influential individuals I’ve observed are rarely rushed. They arrive prepared, composed, and grounded. Their confidence does not come from performance, but from clarity. They’ve already done the internal work before engaging externally. Influence begins in thought. It’s shaped by how one processes information, evaluates consequences, and resists the urge to react. Those who hold influence understand presence isn’t about being seen everywhere, but about being felt when it matters most.

They Think in Terms of Impact, Not Attention Influential people are not preoccupied with visibility. Attention is fleeting. Impact endures. Rather than asking, “How will this be received today?” they ask, “What will this create tomorrow?”

They Protect Energy as a Strategic Resource

They understand that not every moment requires commentary, and not every platform deserves a response. Their restraint isn’t indifference; it’s discernment. They recognize influence grows when actions align with long term values rather than short term applause. This mindset allows them to move with confidence even when the crowd is moving in another direction. They’re comfortable being early, and equally comfortable waiting.

They Control Language, Not Just Outcomes Words matter. Influential people know this instinctively. They speak with purpose and economy, choosing clarity over excess. Their language is measured, not because they lack passion, but because they understand the weight words carry. They avoid emotional leakage. They don’t allow frustration, ego, or urgency to dictate how they communicate. Instead, they use language to steady situations, not escalate them. This ability to control tone and message builds trust, credibility, and authority over time. Influence is often strengthened not by what is said, but by what is intentionally left unsaid.

Energy is currency. Influential people guard it carefully. They don’t spend it indiscriminately on unnecessary conflict, unaligned commitments, or constant availability. They say no without apology and yes with intention. Their schedules reflect priorities, not demands. Rest isn’t viewed as indulgence, but as essential maintenance for clear thinking and sustained performance.

“ Influence is rarely loud. It’s thoughtful. It listens. And it knows when to move.

”

William T. Jackson, ABA, B.Acy., MBA

This approach allows them to remain consistent rather than reactive. Their steadiness becomes a hallmark of their influence.

They Measure Success Internally Before It Is External While external markers of success may follow, influential people first measure alignment. They ask whether their actions reflect their values, whether their decisions preserve integrity, and whether their progress feels sustainable. Influence, when rooted internally, feels calm. It does not require constant validation. It’s grounded in self awareness and reinforced by trust earned over time. This internal calibration allows them to lead, create, and decide without losing themselves in the process.

The Quiet Confidence of Influence They Think in Seasons, Not Moments One of the defining characteristics of influential thinkers is their understanding of seasons. They recognize life, business, and leadership move in cycles. There are times to push forward boldly and times to pause, observe, and recalibrate. They aren’t pressured by immediacy. Silence, to them, isn’t a weakness. It’s a strategic choice. By allowing space between stimulus and response, they gain perspective others often miss. This patience gives them an advantage. When they do act, their actions are decisive, timely, and difficult to ignore.

Influence is not about control. It’s about consistency. It’s built through thoughtful choices made repeatedly, often when no one is watching. As we move into a new year, perhaps the most powerful move is not doing more, but thinking more intentionally. Influence grows when we learn to pause, choose our words carefully, protect our energy, and act with clarity. Influence is rarely loud. It’s thoughtful. It listens. And it knows when to move. That is how influential people think. l JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

Financial planning is another great path to consider. Firms large and small are actively filling their ranks as senior professionals retire and the number of Americans in search of wealth management advisors grows. With the onset of artificial intelligence (AI), technology and financial planning experts alike agree that emerging digital tools will only enhance the work of financial planners.

SOME ARTISTS PAINT WHAT THEY SEE. OTHERS PAINT WHAT THEY SURVIVE. MARALOVE CREATES FROM THE SACRED INTERSECTION OF VULNERABILITY AND VISION, WHERE UNCERTAINTY IS TRANSMUTED INTO BEAUTY AND EMOTION BECOMES POWER. HER WORK DOES NOT SIMPLY INHABIT SPACE; IT SPEAKS TO THE QUIET, OFTEN UNSPOKEN PLACES WITHIN US WHERE IDENTITY IS FORMED, FEAR IS CONFRONTED, AND BECOMING BEGINS. 28

W

hat started as a private act of self expression on a small balcony evolved into a global artistic language, now recognized by fashion houses, high end retailers, and international institutions alike. Yet at its core, MARALOVE remains what it has always been: a fearless dialogue between the artist and her own evolution. Through her celebrated Moody Girls, she captures not merely faces, but states of being, each line and expression reflecting emotional truths so many carry but rarely reveal. In an era obsessed with immediacy and perfection, MARALOVE stands as a testament to patience, process, and the quiet courage required to answer a calling long before the world is watching. In this exclusive InFluential Magazine feature, she invites us behind the canvas and into the moments of doubt, discipline,

faith, and fierce self belief that transformed a confused young dreamer into a global creative force. What follows is not simply an interview, but an intimate journey into the soul of an artist who dared to become.

ORIGINS: THE SEASON BEFORE BECOMING InFluential Magazine: Before MARALOVE existed as a brand, it existed as a feeling. Take us back to the emotional and mental landscape of your life during those early years when everything felt uncertain. MARALOVE: Before MARALOVE existed as a brand, it existed as a feeling, a quiet whisper during a deeply uncertain time. I was navigating a season of transition, searching for purpose and a sense of identity. Creating became my refuge. What would later become MARALOVE began as small moments of beauty I created to stay grounded, a way to transform uncertainty into something meaningful.

THE COLLECTIVE FEATURE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW InFluential Magazine: Your childhood was surrounded by beauty, texture, and imagination through your mother’s floral and home décor work. Looking back now, what do you realize she was teaching you about creation, patience, and purpose without ever saying a word? MARALOVE: Looking back, I realize my mother was teaching me everything without speaking. Creation is an act of love. Beauty lives in the details. Patience is part of the process. Through her work, she showed me purpose does not need to be loud. It is built quietly, with intention, one small touch at a time. InFluential Magazine: You lived for years balancing a structured life as a preschool teacher with the private pull of your artistic calling. What did that tension teach you about faith, sacrifice, and timing? MARALOVE: Balancing teaching with my artistic calling taught me that faith often looks like showing up even when you cannot see the full picture. Sacrifice is part of choosing a life you love. And timing is divine. Creativity waits for the moment when you are finally brave enough to follow it.

THE LEAP: CHOOSING THE UNKNOWN InFluential Magazine: There is always a pivotal moment when the soul decides it can no longer stay silent. Describe the moment you knew you had to launch MARALOVE, no matter the risk. MARALOVE: The moment I knew I had to launch MARALOVE was when staying silent began to hurt more than taking the risk. One night, while creating alone in my small studio, I felt a clarity I had never experienced before. It was calm, but urgent. In that moment, fear felt smaller than my purpose, and I chose to begin. InFluential Magazine: You have said MARALOVE was born without obsession over success or fear of failure. How did releasing both expectations change the way you created? MARALOVE: Releasing the obsession with success and the fear of failure changed everything. It allowed me to create from honesty instead of pressure. I stopped

ASCENT: FROM PRIVATE CREATION TO GLOBAL RECOGNITION InFluential Magazine: Today your work reaches some of the world’s most prestigious platforms. When you reflect on that trajectory, what moment still feels most surreal? MARALOVE: Seeing my work recognized on a global stage for the first time still feels surreal. Something I once created quietly, in my own world, traveled farther than I ever imagined. That moment felt like time paused, a reminder dreams grow in ways we cannot predict.

trying to control the outcome and started trusting the process. My art became freer and more aligned with who I truly am, and that is when MARALOVE began to grow naturally.

InFluential Magazine: You often say persistence, not talent, has been your greatest gift. Can you share a time when persistence alone carried you forward? MARALOVE: There was a season when inspiration felt distant and my confidence had disappeared. What carried me forward was simply showing up. Painting when I did not feel creative. Creating small sketches when ideas felt empty. Persistence became my anchor. Commitment built momentum until inspiration returned.

THE MOODY GIRLS: EMOTION AS IDENTITY InFluential Magazine: The Moody Girls are more than illustrations. They are emotional portraits. When you look at them today, what do they reveal about your inner life across the years? MARALOVE: When I look at the Moody Girls today, I see a timeline of my inner life. Every fear, hope, heartbreak, and rebirth is there. They reveal emotions I did not always know how to express in words. Each one is a mirror of the woman I was becoming in that moment, guided by intuition, vulnerability, and truth. InFluential Magazine: Early on, sharing your art publicly frightened you deeply. What was the greatest fear you had to confront about being seen? MARALOVE: My greatest fear was being truly seen, not just my art, but the emotions behind it. I was afraid of being misunderstood or judged for my vulnerability. Letting my work be public meant letting myself be exposed. Facing that fear taught me authenticity is always worth the risk.

THE INNER WORLD: PROTECTING THE SOURCE InFluential Magazine: Your work carries deep emotional resonance. How do you honor your sensitivity while protecting your peace? MARALOVE: I honor my sensitivity by staying connected to quiet moments that ground me. Slow mornings, silence, time alone. I protect my peace by setting boundaries around what I share and what I keep just for myself. Staying centered allows my art to remain honest without letting external noise overwhelm the source. InFluential Magazine: How do you navigate expectations while staying true to your original artistic voice? MARALOVE: I return to why I create in the first place. Recognition is a gift, not a guide. Staying true to my voice means trusting my intuition and allowing the work to evolve naturally, not to please others, but to reflect who I truly am. JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

IMPACT: WHEN THE WORK TOUCHES OTHERS

MARALOVE: Trust yourself. The leap feels terrifying, but each step will reveal strength you did not know you had. Your intuition is your compass. Your art is worth sharing. InFluential Magazine: For the dreamer who feels creatively gifted but emotionally paralyzed, what truth would you offer? MARALOVE: Your gift is not defined by perfection or fear. Start small. Honor your emotions. Create anyway. Showing up is what transforms potential into something real.

InFluential Magazine: When people tell you your journey gave them courage, what does that do to your spirit? MARALOVE: It fills me with gratitude and humility. It reminds me sharing our truth creates ripple effects. Knowing my story gives someone else courage makes every risk and moment of doubt feel worthwhile. InFluential Magazine: How has your relationship with fear evolved since 2014? MARALOVE: In 2014, fear felt like a wall. Today, it feels like a signal that something meaningful is at stake. I acknowledge it, move through it, and let it guide me instead of stop me. Fear now fuels courage rather than limiting it.

PROCESS AND PURPOSE: THE LONG VIEW InFluential Magazine: What has trusting the process taught you about surrender and faith in yourself? MARALOVE: Surrender is not giving up. It is trusting the work will unfold in its own time. Control is an illusion. Faith grows when I keep showing up without guarantees. The journey shapes the art as much as the final piece. InFluential Magazine: How has choosing a slower, intentional evolution shaped your work? MARALOVE: It’s allowed my work to breathe and develop organically. It deepened its emotional resonance and integrity. Every piece reflects authenticity rather than trends. Patience has become the invisible hand guiding my art.

REFLECTION AND THE FUTURE InFluential Magazine: What would you tell the woman you were before MARALOVE?

FINAL WORD InFluential Magazine: Complete this sentence: MARALOVE is… MARALOVE: MARALOVE is where emotion, intuition, and creativity meet. A space to honor vulnerability, transform uncertainty into beauty, and share the art that lives quietly in the heart.

“

Seeing my work recognized on a global stage for the first time still feels surreal. Something I once created quietly, in my own world, traveled farther than I ever imagined. That moment felt like time paused, a reminder dreams grow in ways we cannot predict.

”

MARALOVE

What makes MARALOVE extraordinary is not merely the reach of her work or the prestige of the platforms that now showcase it. It is the way she chose herself long before anyone else did. Her story is one of quiet endurance, of showing up when no audience was present, of believing when doubt spoke louder than certainty, and of creating through uncertainty rather than waiting for clarity. Across every chapter of her evolution, one truth remains unwavering: MARALOVE does not chase approval. She creates from the undeniable necessity of her own becoming. Her Moody Girls now live across cultures and continents, yet their emotional language remains universal. They articulate what so many feel but struggle to name. In a world driven by speed and surface, MARALOVE’s journey reminds us meaning is built slowly, courage often moves quietly, and persistence outlives fear. When creativity is rooted in truth, its reach becomes limitless. Becoming is not a destination, but a lifelong act of faith. l JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

Get health screenings:

Manage stress:

Be physically active:

Follow a healthy diet:

Stay hydrated:

Start the year off by prioritizing physical activity. Strive for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity each week. If you have a sedentary lifestyle or primarily sit for long stretches at work, build in frequent breaks to stretch and move throughout your day.

Drink water instead of sugar-sweetened beverages and eat nutritious, whole foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds, low-fat dairy products and lean proteins. Avoid unhealthy ultra-processed foods, especially those with high levels of added sodium, saturated fats and sugar. Drinking sugary beverages, even 100% fruit juice, is associated with a higher mortality risk, according to a study published in JAMA Network Open.

Schedule preventive visits, tests and screenings so your physician can catch conditions before they become more serious.

50

Mental health is part of overall health. Techniques such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga can help reduce stress. Ask for help from a mental health professional when you need it.

FLUENTIAL JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

Drink plenty of water or other beverages composed mostly of water, such as milk or herbal tea, to avoid dehydration and to keep your body functioning properly. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired. Adult men should get about 15.5 cups of fluids a day and women should get 11.5 cups, according to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

Get plenty of good sleep:

Update vaccinations:

Drink in moderation:

To maintain your health and emotional well-being, most adults need 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep. Rest helps boost immunity and improve mental clarity.

Vaccinations remain the best defense against flu and other serious respiratory viruses. Since significant flu activity can stretch into May, it’s not too late to get a flu shot. The AMA recommends vaccination as long as the threat of flu remains. Talk with your physician or other health care professional to determine which vaccines are right for you. To cut through vaccine confusion and have open, honest conversations with your physician, first go to the AMA website for evidence-based information. For help finding a flu vaccine in your area, visit GetMyFluShot.org.

If consuming alcohol, do so in moderation as defined by the U.S. Dietary Guidelines: up to one drink per day for women and two drinks for men, and only for adults of legal drinking age.

Quit tobacco, nicotine and e-cigarettes:

Follow medication directions:

Ask your doctor or health care professional for resources and guidance to help quit smoking, vaping or using other nicotine products. Make your home and car smoke-free to eliminate secondhand smoke exposure.

When taking prescriptions, store them safely to prevent diversion or misuse, and properly dispose of any leftover medication. If you’re prescribed antibiotics, complete the full course to prevent antibiotic resistance.

For more health tips and resources visit ama-assn.org. “With the festive season cookies eaten and those missed workouts officially last year’s worry, the new year is a great chance to refocus on the healthy choices you want to make in 2026,” said AMA president Dr. Bobby Mukkamala. “Even tiny changes now can snowball into major gains for your long-term health.” (StatePoint) l JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

Keep clutter at bay with these three resolutions: Stop clutter in its tracks: New clutter can have a habit of accumulating each time you enter your home. To mitigate this, put away everything that you’re holding when you walk in the door. Hang your coat and put your shoes on the shoe rack. Store essentials like your keys, phone and wallet in a drop zone so you always know where they are. Recycle unwanted junk mail and deal with important correspondence right away. Put groceries and other items away immediately. Put a pause on shopping: Consider taking on a “no-buy challenge.” This means not purchasing anything beyond the essentials (groceries, toiletries, etc.) for a specific duration of time, such as a month or longer. While the purpose of these challenges is usually to save money or reduce one’s environmental footprint, it can also be beneficial for those with a clutter problem. Getting a handle on your current possessions can help you make more mindful decisions about what new items you bring into your home. (SPM Wire) l

DECOR WITH MEANING: HOW ART REVEALS WHO WE ARE BEFORE WE SPEAK

rt and decor, when chosen with intention, become a quiet language. They speak of where we have been, what we value, and how we choose to live. They aren’t about impressing others. BEFORE A They’re about SINGLE WORD alignment.

IS SPOKEN, A SPACE TELLS A STORY. IT COMMUNICATES INTENTION, VALUES, AND RESTRAINT. IT REVEALS WHETHER THOUGHT WAS APPLIED OR SIMPLY TASTE. IN THE HOMES AND OFFICES OF INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE, THIS STORY IS NEVER ACCIDENTAL.

As we enter a new year, many of us are rethinking how we live, what we keep close, and what truly deserves space in our lives. This reflection naturally extends to the spaces we inhabit. Influence does not end at the boardroom or the public square. It shows up privately, in the rooms where we think, rest, and gather.

The Power of a Thoughtful Space Influential spaces feel different. They’re calm without being cold. They’re expressive without being loud. Nothing competes for attention, yet everything feels considered. This doesn’t happen by chance. It happens when decor is approached not as decoration, but as curation. When each piece is

chosen for meaning rather than trend, a room gains presence. It invites pause. It invites reflection. I’ve found the most compelling spaces do not overwhelm. They allow the eye to rest and the mind to settle. They understand luxury is not excess, but intention. Art as Identity, Not Ornament Art should never be filler. When it’s treated as ornament alone, it loses its power. When it’s treated as identity, it gains depth. The art we live with often marks transitions. A piece acquired during a period of growth. A photograph tied to a place that changed us. A sculpture that reflects resilience, curiosity, or calm. These pieces carry stories that don’t need explanation. Influential people collect art the way they build their lives. Slowly. Thoughtfully. With purpose. They’re less interested in what is popular and more interested in what resonates. Art becomes a mirror. Not of who we were trying to be, but of who we’re becoming. Curating Versus Decorating There’s a meaningful distinction between decorating and curating. Decorating fills space. Curating defines it.

JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

FLUENTIAL 57

THE INFLUENTIAL LIFE

Curating requires restraint. It asks difficult questions. Does this piece add clarity or distraction. Does it support the energy of the room or compete with it. Is it here because it matters, or because it was convenient. Influential spaces often feature fewer pieces, not more. Each item has room to breathe. Each choice feels intentional. This discipline signals confidence.

58

FLUENTIAL JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

It suggests that nothing is present simply to avoid emptiness. Empty space is not absence. It’s invitation. Living With Art, Not Around It Art should be lived with, not staged. It should exist in daily view, integrated into the rhythm of life. When art is treated as untouchable or purely decorative, it loses intimacy.

The most meaningful collections are woven into everyday moments. A painting seen each morning that centers the day. A piece encountered at the end of a long evening that invites stillness. Art placed where life happens, not hidden away for admiration alone. Placement matters. Light matters. Proximity matters. When these

INFLUENTIAL-MAGAZINE.COM

elements are considered, art becomes a companion rather than an accessory.

In a world that often confuses more with better, restraint becomes a form of distinction.

The Role of Restraint Restraint is one of the most underrated forms of sophistication. In decor, as in life, restraint reflects clarity.

Collecting as a Long Conversation Art collecting is not a destination. It’s a conversation that evolves over time. What once spoke loudly may later feel complete. What once felt distant may eventually resonate deeply.

Not every wall needs to be filled. Not every surface needs an object. Negative space allows meaning to surface. It allows the eye to focus and the mind to rest. Influential people are comfortable with restraint because they trust their choices. They don’t need to justify silence with noise. Their confidence is quiet.

Taste matures. Perspective shifts. Life experiences reshape what we are drawn to. Influential collectors allow this evolution. They don’t cling to past versions of themselves. They make space for growth. Collecting, at its best, reflects a life lived attentively. It honors seasons, memories, and transformation.

A Reflection for the Year Ahead As we step into a new year, perhaps the question isn’t what we want to add, but what we want to honor. What stories do our spaces tell. What values do they quietly reinforce. What do they invite us to feel. Decor with meaning isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about choosing pieces that support who we are and how we wish to live. Our spaces speak long before we do. When curated with intention, they become an extension of our influence. Calm. Considered. Enduring. That is the quiet power of art. l

ong before its inclusion in The InFluential Table Series, Suerte had already established itself as one of Austin’s most influential dining rooms, an institution defined not by trend cycles, but by consistency and intention. That’s why it stands comfortably alongside Jeffrey’s, Red Ash, and Lutie’s. Each carries influence in a different voice. Suerte speaks through culture. Suerte opened with a clear point of view at a time when much of the city was racing toward novelty. Instead of leaning into shortcuts or mass appeal, the restaurant chose patience. It chose repetition. It chose to build its reputation one service at a time. That early confidence in its own identity is what continues to separate Suerte from the constantly shifting field of new concepts. There’s no urgency here to keep up with what’s next. Suerte’s power comes from knowing exactly who it is and remaining faithful to that idea. At the heart of Suerte is a deep respect for masa. Heirloom corn is nixtamalized in-house, ground daily, and transformed into the foundation of the menu. This isn’t culinary theater. It’s an intentional return to process, labor-intensive, precise, and uncompromising. You feel that intention immediately. Tortillas arrive warm, structured, and fragrant. Tostadas hold delicate balance without brittleness. The integrity of the grain remains present in every bite. In a city full of quick concepts and fast openings, Suerte moves at a different

pace, one grounded in patience and repetition. This reverence for process is not a detail. It’s the backbone of everything that leaves the kitchen. That philosophy extends well beyond corn. Proteins are handled with restraint and care. Sauces are developed slowly, layered rather than forced. Heat is applied thoughtfully, not aggressively. The kitchen shows discipline in what it chooses not to do. Nothing here feels rushed into existence. The food carries the quiet confidence of a team that trusts time as an ingredient. The menu succeeds because it never forgets its roots while embracing modern technique. The dishes feel considered yet approachable, refined yet familiar. It’s this balance that has built such enduring loyalty among Austin diners. The suadero tacos, now synonymous with the restaurant, exemplify Suerte’s philosophy.

Slow-cooked, deeply savory, and precisely balanced, they reflect a kitchen confident enough to rely on time and technique rather than embellishment. Seasonal vegetables, crudos, moles, and house-ground masa preparations extend that same restraint across the menu. Nothing here feels excessive. Everything feels deliberate. Suerte does not chase surprise. It delivers reliability with character. There’s also a sense of generosity in the way the menu is built. Shared plates encourage conversation. Portions are designed for gathering, not isolation. The table becomes the center of the experience, not the individual plate. It’s easy to see why Suerte has become a preferred destination for celebrations, reunions, and long dinners that unfold without pressure. The bar program mirrors the kitchen’s respect for heritage. the backbone of the offering, grounding the experience in geography and tradition rather than trend. The selection reflects both depth and curiosity, offering expressions that range from approachable to contemplative. Cocktails are composed with clarity and balance. They accompany the food instead of competing with it. The bar isn’t separate attraction. It’s a natural extension of the dining philosophy. It’s where evenings often begin and where many choose to linger after the final plate is cleared. Conversations soften here. Time stretches. Service at Suerte follows the same understated philosophy as the food. It’s attentive without being intrusive. Knowledgeable without being performative. Guests are guided rather than steered. The rhythm of the room is steady. You’re never rushed, and you’re never forgotten. This balance is difficult to achieve, but it’s central to why diners remain loyal year after year. Hospitality here feels practiced, not scripted. Suerte’s home on East Sixth Street is more than a location. It’s part of its identity. East Austin carries history, creative energy, and forward momentum in equal measure. The restaurant reflects that duality in both attitude and design. The dining room feels active yet composed. Warm materials, open sightlines, and steady movement create an environment that is welcoming without feeling staged or theatrical. The room belongs to the neighborhood. It does not borrow its character. Suerte does not feel placed in East Austin. It feels grown from it. There’s also something important in the way Suerte fits into the broader cultural fabric of the city. It does not operate as an insulated destination. It feels connected to the life around it. Local diners claim it as their own. Visiting guests discover it as a point of entry into a deeper understanding of Austin’s culinary identity. That dual relevance, local loyalty and national recognition, is difficult to earn and even harder to sustain. Each restaurant selected for The InFluential Table Series represents a distinct expression of influence.

Jeffrey’s reflects legacy and refinement. Red Ash delivers fire, energy, and spectacle. Lutie’s speaks in comfort and hospitality. Suerte represents cultural leadership through craft. It reflects influence built through consistency, luxury grounded in authenticity, tradition applied with modern discipline, and prestige earned quietly night after night. Suerte was not chosen for popularity. It was chosen for durability.

“

True influence at the table isn’t created by trend or spectacle. It’s created when a restaurant becomes part of the rhythm of people’s lives.

”

William T. Jackson, ABA, B.Acy., MBA

As William Jackson shared with The InFluential Magazine editorial team during our selection process, “True influence at the table isn’t created by trend or spectacle. It’s created when a restaurant becomes part of the rhythm of people’s lives.” Suerte embodies that truth with quiet certainty. Over time, Suerte has become a place where life naturally gathers. Weeknight dinners feel unhurried rather than transactional. Celebrations remain personal rather than performative. Business conversations loosen into something more candid over shared plates. Visitors encounter Austin through flavor rather than façade. It’s not a restaurant people visit once for novelty. It’s a restaurant people build into their routines, their milestones, their memories. That familiarity, earned over years, is a rare kind of influence. Suerte is not driven by external validation. It’s driven by internal standards. It does not attempt to be everything to everyone. It does one thing exceptionally well and sustains it with care. In an era defined by constant reinvention and short attention spans, Suerte has built its relevance through continuity. It evolves without abandoning what made it matter in the first place. That kind of discipline is increasingly uncommon, and precisely why Suerte endures. If you go to Suerte, go with intention. Order with curiosity. Share what the table offers. Notice the rhythm of the room. Sit a little longer than planned. Pay attention to what stays with you when you leave. That lingering impression, quiet, steady, and memorable, is the truest signature of an influential dining room. l JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2026

SKIN CARE IS OFTEN APPROACHED AS A FIXED ROUTINE. THE SAME PRODUCTS. THE SAME STEPS. THE SAME EXPECTATIONS. YET OUR SKIN, MUCH LIKE OUR LIVES, MOVES IN SEASONS. IT RESPONDS TO ENVIRONMENT, STRESS, CLIMATE, REST, AND RHYTHM. WHEN WE FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS, WE ASK OUR SKIN TO PERFORM WITHOUT SUPPORT.

SEASONAL SKIN PHILOSOPHY WHY THE WAY WE CARE FOR OUR SKIN SHOULD CHANGE WITH THE SEASONS

seasonal skin philosophy invites us to slow down and observe. It encourages us to listen rather than override. This approach is not about trends or excess. It is about alignment. As we enter the winter months and begin a new year, our skin is asking for something different. Less force. More care. More intention. Skin as a Living System Skin is not static. It’s a living organ that reflects internal health and external conditions. Cold temperatures, dry air, indoor heating, travel, stress, and reduced

sunlight all influence how skin behaves during the winter season. Rather than correcting perceived flaws, a seasonal philosophy focuses on support. What does the skin need now. What is it responding to. What should be protected rather than pushed. This mindset reframes skin care from control to care. Barrier First, Always One of the most important concepts in seasonal skin health is barrier protection. During colder months, the skin barrier becomes more vulnerable, leading to dryness, irritation, and sensitivity. Board certified dermatologist Whitney Bowe often emphasizes

that skin care should be approached with the same thoughtfulness as nutrition. “Skin care is like nutrition for your skin,” she has shared in multiple interviews. “ You want to support the skin barrier so it can function at its best.”

This insight is foundational. When the barrier is compromised, even the most luxurious products lose effectiveness. When it’s protected, the skin becomes more resilient, calm, and responsive. Winter Is a Season of Repair Winter is not the time for aggression. It’s a season for

restoration. This is when gentler cleansing matters. When hydration becomes more important than exfoliation. When nourishing formulas replace corrective ones. The goal shifts from transformation to preservation. Influential people understand seasons intuitively. They know when to push forward and when to protect what has already been built. The same principle applies to skin. Care during winter should feel supportive, not demanding. Fewer Steps, More Intention A seasonal skin philosophy favors simplicity. This does not mean neglect. It means choosing wisely. Overloading the skin during winter can create more imbalance than benefit. Thoughtful routines allow the skin to recover and recalibrate. Each step should serve a purpose. Each product should earn its place. This restraint mirrors quiet luxury. Confidence in fewer, better choices. Skin Reflects How We Live Skin health is influenced by more than what we apply. Sleep, hydration, nutrition, movement, and stress all play a role. Winter often disrupts routines, making intentional care even more important. This is the season to prioritize rest. To drink more water. To nourish from

within. To recognize that skin is often the first place stress shows itself. A seasonal approach honors the full picture, not just the surface. The Philosophy, Not the Formula Seasonal skin care is not a prescription. It’s a philosophy. It asks us to observe rather than compare. To adapt rather than insist. To support rather than correct. It encourages a relationship with our skin built on respect and patience. As we move into a new year, this philosophy offers something valuable. A reminder care does not have to be complicated to be effective. That listening is often more powerful than reacting. Our skin carries us through every season of life. When we learn to care for it in rhythm with the world around us, it responds with balance, resilience, and quiet confidence. That is the essence of a seasonal skin philosophy. l

A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO

Reigniting Energy and Purpose FOR THE NEW YEAR THE NEW YEAR ARRIVES WITH ITS USUAL SYMBOLIC RESET, BUT REAL MOMENTUM BEGINS ONLY WHEN YOU TRANSLATE GOOD INTENTIONS INTO SMALL, REPEATABLE ACTIONS. n WRITTEN BY GWEN PAYNE, CONTRIBUTING WRITER FOR INFLUENTIAL MAGAZINE

any people feel both hopeful and overwhelmed in January, a strange mix of excitement for change and anxiety about sustaining it. This guide is meant to cut through that noise and help you build practical traction.

Key Takeaways Start the year by simplifying your goals into small, repeatable actions that boost energy and create early momentum. Focus on systems, not perfection, and build habits that reinforce clarity, purpose, and longterm growth.

Reclaiming the First 30 Days Momentum is a compounding resource, a single habit performed for two or three minutes a day can quietly rewire your sense of agency. Think of the first month of the year as your “pilot phase,” where experiments matter more than perfection.

Small Levers That Create Big Lift l Rename goals as systems — “write daily” becomes

“open the notes app for five minutes each morning.” l Reduce friction: place workout clothes on the chair, water bottle on your desk, phone far away during focus time. l Add identity phrasing: “I’m becoming the kind of person who ___.” It works surprisingly well because the brain defends identity more fiercely than tasks.

How to Start

4. Track progress in micro-units — minutes, reps, pages, attempts.

Write 3 bullets: “What I want to feel today, 5. Review your emotional dashboard — What lifted you? What drained you? What can you adjust what must get done, next week? one thing I’ll celebrate.” Set a timer every How to Turn Intention 90 minutes for a 45-second stretch Into a Repeatable Rhythm 1. Name the feeling you want more of (calm, clarity, Turn lights down stamina, achievement). 30 minutes before bed Ask: “What worked? 2. Identify one behavior that produces that feeling — What dragged? What’s one adjustment?” even slightly.

Advancing Your Career with Purpose and Confidence Career clarity often lags personal clarity. For many people, professional stagnation quietly drains energy, even when the rest of life feels in motion. One powerful path is advancing through online education, especially in fields experiencing talent shortages or expanded leadership tracks. For example, the benefits of an MSN extend far beyond clinical skills. A Master of Science in Nursing can open pathways into nurse education, administration, informatics, or advanced practice roles while allowing you to continue working full-time. Online programs make it possible to study at your own pace without stepping away from your current role.

Your Weekly Reset Blueprint Use this as a quick, repeatable weekly scan: 1. Define your “one meaningful thing” for the week — a task that moves life forward more than sideways. 2. Eliminate one tolerance — unsubscribe, clean a drawer, cancel a forgotten subscription, fix something that’s been annoying you.

3. Schedule joy deliberately — a friend call, a slow walk, a hobby session.

3. Shrink that behavior to its smallest executable version (30 seconds to begin). 4. Attach it to an existing routine (after brushing teeth, right before lunch). 5. Track only the start, not the outcome. The streak builds everything else.

FAQs Q: I always lose momentum by February. What’s the fix? A: Stop optimizing for motivation and build frictionmanaged routines instead. Routines survive emotional variability; motivation does not. Q: How many goals should I set? A: One primary goal, two supporting habits. Anything more often becomes self-sabotage. Q: What if my environment makes change hard? A: Start by adjusting objects, not willpower — move items, set reminders, reduce temptations, add cues. Q: Is discipline more important than inspiration?

INFLUENTIAL-MAGAZINE.COM

A: Discipline is simply engineered context. You can design it instead of forcing it.

One Last Reminder as You Move Forward Change rarely arrives dramatically; it appears as the quiet accumulation of tiny choices made consistently. Your future clarity is built from modest actions performed long before they feel natural. Keep the bar low and the repetitions high. A new year doesn’t guarantee transformation, but it does offer a clean psychological runway. Start with simple behaviors that produce energy, introduce structures that support followthrough, and give yourself room to experiment without judgment. Growth compounds, and so does clarity, when you take one small action each day. You’re closer than you think to a year that feels genuinely yours. l

EACH YEAR ARRIVES WITH ITS OWN QUIET ENERGY. A NEW BEGINNING INVITES US TO REFLECT, TO REFINE, AND TO RISE WITH RENEWED INTENTION. YET 2026 CARRIES A DEEPER PROMISE. IT CALLS US TO EMBRACE A MORE EXPANSIVE VISION OF WHO WE CAN BECOME AND WHAT WE CAN CREATE. IT ENCOURAGES US NOT SIMPLY TO MOVE FORWARD, BUT TO MOVE FORWARD WITH PURPOSE.

or many, the past seasons have felt like a whirlwind of change. Expectations shifted, priorities evolved, and the world reminded us that life is both delicate and deeply resilient. But with resilience comes opportunity. With clarity comes direction. And with intention comes transformation. As I often remind readers, “A new year is not defined by the date, but by the decision. You decide when your life begins to shift.” Those words are not meant to inspire pressure. They are meant to empower possibility.

Begin With Identity Instead of Resolution Resolutions often fade because they focus on tasks rather than transformation. The more powerful question to ask yourself is not What should I do in 2026, but rather Who should I become in 2026 The shift is profound. When your identity grows, your choices follow. When you decide to become more centered, more courageous, more patient, or more intentional, your actions naturally rise to meet that decision. In my own work, I have shared, “The most meaningful growth begins when you stop chasing outcomes and start cultivating the person who can sustain them.” This year invites you to do exactly that.

Embrace Clarity as Your Foundation Clarity is the cornerstone of a meaningful life. It simplifies your path and strengthens your focus. Without it, even the most ambitious plans lose their direction. Ask yourself: l What matters to me now l What deserves my attention l What no longer aligns with who I am becoming Clarity is an act of courage. It requires honesty, presence, and the willingness to honor your own needs.

Choose Consistency as Your Quiet Strength Consistency builds the life you want far more effectively than intensity. The bold life is not created through grand gestures but through steady, thoughtful choices repeated over time. l A consistent practice of self reflection l A consistent commitment to excellence l A consistent effort toward personal growth l A consistent decision to show up with grace

One of my guiding principles is this “Momentum is not created by mastery. Momentum is created by movement.” Let every step you take this year be an intentional one.

Invite Joy and Wellness Into Your Daily Life

A Year Filled With Promise

Wellness is not merely the absence of stress. It’s the presence of peace, energy, and emotional strength. You cannot pour into the world if you refuse to pour into yourself.

As we enter this new season together, remember the year ahead does not shape you until you choose to shape it. You have everything within you to make 2026 a year of profound growth, renewed vision, and meaningful joy.

l Build rituals that restore your spirit l Protect the spaces that bring you joy l Honor rest as a form of self respect

May this be the year you discover new strength within yourself.

l Give yourself permission to pause

Joy is not accidental. Joy is chosen. And in choosing joy, you awaken the most radiant version of yourself.

May this be the year you see beauty in places you once overlooked.

Lead With Purpose and Authenticity

May this be the year you pursue bold dreams with confidence and gratitude.

The world is hungry for leaders who are rooted in compassion, clarity, and integrity. Whether you lead a team, a home, a business, or your own inner life, your influence matters. Authenticity does not ask you to be perfect. It asks you to be present. It asks you to live a life aligned with your values and to honor what you know to be true. I often share with colleagues, “Purpose makes your steps lighter. Integrity makes your journey longer. Authenticity makes your presence unforgettable.” Carry those truths with you as you move through 2026.

And may this be the year you step fully into the life you have long imagined.

Because in the words I often return to, “Your future is not waiting for permission. It’s waiting for you.” Welcome to 2026. There is brilliance ahead. l
