Do you drool over your 4-wheel drive truck in the snow? Are your winter boots equipped with heated foot massagers? Unless the highlight of your winter is the seasonal flu, you count on these things to make those colder months more tolerable. Let’s see if you can have a heads start on winter and buy yourself things you could look forward to use or play with when the first snow arrives. First of all, you certainly will need winter tires, are yours in good shape and can they be used for another season? If so why don’t you call your local garage and plan an appointment in advance for some date at the end of October or the beginning of November? This way you won’t be surprised with summer tires during the first snowfall or stuck in the waiting room because it’s rush time and every day is booked solid. No tires? Start slowly looking for what you need, sales will soon arise! You may not own Ski-Doos or 4-wheelers or you may be looking for a new one. Local dealers are ready to help you at this very moment! It takes time to find exactly what you want and what you need, why not start looking now? If you find what you need you will look forward to snow begins! If you’ve been shoveling snow off your driveway, perhaps you’re looking for another option. Will you hire a snow removal company or will you buy yourself a snowblower, a 4-wheeler with a plow, or even a tracker? Once again you need time to do your research... many questions can come up like, how long will that new snow blower last? Would it be more convenient to have best of both worlds perhaps having a 4 wheeler and a snow
plow? How strong will my 4-wheeler need to be? If I hire a professional, how much will he charge me for the year vs. per visit? Start calling around and get quotes now! Visit your local dealers and get some brochures or search the internet and get more information, now is a great time to learn more and not get rushed into it. Another thing that might make your winter more bearable is going down South! You may hate winter so much that you need a break from it in the middle of it...or you may not have the summer holidays that everybody else has because your work schedule doesn’t permit. Perhaps as a business owner, summer is your rush time and winter becomes your alternative holiday. If this is the case, start shopping now! ‘Last minute deals’ were very popular but more and more savings are done with ‘Early Bookings’. In my case, my holidays are already planned and booked. Once that’s done you don’t mind first snow coming down because this means you are getting closer and closer to your ‘Winter Break’! Another thing you can shop around to make winter more enjoyable is planning to rent a cottage for a get-together with family and friends either during the Christmas holidays or simply for a fun weekend! Now is the time to make reservations as you can have a nice choice of area, cottage size, and features. Some cottages may be close to ski hills, some may have hot tubs, pool tables, close to cross country trails, motor operated trails, 1,2,3,4 or more bedrooms... If you start your research now, you may have access to the perfect cottage for the perfect winter retreat! No matter your plans, winter is approaching faster than you think, might as well get ready for it on a positive note!

Your Angel Message Remembering Souls Who Have Graduated Back Into Spirit When I asked the Angels for their message this week, they gathered round and asked me to explain something to bring you peace regarding loved ones who have transitioned from their earthly form back into Spirit. They say, 'You are not Human Beings having a Spiritual experience, but rather, you are Spiritual Beings having a Human experience.' It helps to start from that fundamental truth as it is a shift in thinking from human's usual belief and it will help you understand what the Angels are here to tell you. As 'Energy Beings' that you all are, you can never be lost, you can only change form. First an individuated Spark from the God of your belief, sent out to experience and learn in many different forms and when filled and completed, finally to return homoeostatic to Creator. Your Soul is eternal, immortal...All experience gathered remains part of that Soul. What you have learned in body as cherished Sara, Joe, Mother, Father, Daughter, Son, Husband, Sibling etc...remains part of you, forever. So when it is time to end your Human experience, and return to Spirit, you, and your loved ones are never lost. That part of your Soul, remains 'you' always....And that part of your transi-
tioned loved one's Soul can indeed be contacted and connected with in prayer, meditation and by intention. You do not need anyone else to connect you to your loved one, though sometimes, a little guidance when getting started can help. You really only need to allow yourself some time to get quiet and fill your heart with the highest, loving thoughts you can. Being in the depths of deep grief can block your connection as your transitioned loved one, having left the body, is in a much lighter vibration now. After filling your heart with loving thoughts, intend to connect with the Soul of your loved one. Then give it some time. Be patient and open to any loving messages you may receive. Often times, your loved ones are as eager to get through to you as you are to get through to them. Be gentle with yourself and remember to ask your Angels to help with the connection. They are eager to help you any way they can. November is traditionally thought of as the month to 'Remember those who have passed on'....It is good and well to also remember that they are not lost, only changed, and they are still available to us at any time, if we set our intention and are open to them in their Spirit form.

However, no matter what the breed, please don't expect a dog or cat who spends most of his time indoors to suddenly be able to adapt to a full day or night outside in cold temperatures. His body will have adapted to indoor temperatures, his fur if thick, constantly shedding due to the warm, dry air. He is no longer equipped to sustain freezing temperatures outside. Ear, nose and tail tips, genitalia and paw-pads will frostbite first. If it's cold enough for you to wear gloves, keep an eye on these sensitive areas on your pet. Older, infirmed or short-haired pets will need extra care when going outside. If feasible, prepare an area indoors where they can both relieve themselves and get a little exercise. If not feasible, then perhaps a specially prepared carport or someplace protected from the wind will work. While some pets will easily adapt to wearing coats and booties, others will be vehemently opposed and fight you on it every time. This takes away from the pleasure of going outside, so please don't make the experience miserable for both you and your pet by continuing to try to dress them for the weather. Just keep the outing brief. Remember when walking a dog to be mindful of salt, and other caustic compounds used to keep roads and walkways clear of snow. These can cause irritation and chemical burns to your pet's paws.

Helpful Tips to 'WINTERIZE' Your Pets! The native Inuit dogs I rescued from the Arctic naturally adapted to our winters here much easier than my retired, racing Greyhound I rescued off a Florida racetrack. India, our Greyhound with his zero body-fat and very short hair was not naturally equipped for freezing temperatures like our Nordic dogs with their stockier builds and plush, dense fur. As much as I tried, India would never wear a doggie-coat, so we compromised by keeping winter outings very brief for him while the Nordic’s would revel for an hour in the deep snow before wanting to come back inside.

The easiest way to remove it is by walking him in clean, white snow just before re-entering the house. Otherwise, you will need to wash it off his paws once inside, or at least wipe his paws with a wet rag. If you don't, he will lick his paws to remove the offending substance, inflaming his mouth and esophageal and intestinal tract and possibly poison himself. You can help avoid this issue by rubbing on some topical paw-pad protectorate available in pet stores, sold specifically for this purpose, before leaving the house. Also, keep watch for snow 'balls' to build and stick between paw-pads, especially in longer-haired breeds. Remove them as these can also be very painful. Anti-freeze is another lethal poison too commonly encountered in winter-time. It's found in engine coolant and hydraulic brake fluids, windshield cleansers etc.. Until the companies that sell ethylene glycol products change their formula to include a bitter taste, many pets will continue to die. This is because anti-freeze has an alluring, sweet taste to pets and even a couple of licks can seriously harm or kill your pet. Try and fill your antifreeze somewhere other than in your driveway to avoid any spills. Check your car for leaks. Do not use it in your toilet bowl to winterize pipes, and find out if the person you are visiting with your pet uses it in their home. Remember, pets are drawn towards this poison and don't know that it can very well kill them. If you must, use 'propylene glycol' which the FDA has deemed less caustic, and keep the container in a very safe place. If your pet has indeed ingested anti-freeze this is an emergency! If you can, immediately give your pet some activated charcoal (you always keep in your cabinet for emergencies;). You must rush him to the vet as time is of the essence and there are things your veterinarian can do to save him if caught in time.
