n an important announcement the government has announced that Australia will be extending poststudy work rights for international students who graduate with degrees linked to workforce shortages. It implies students will get more time to find a job in the Australian economy and make use of the skills they have acquired while studying. However the government is yet to specify which degrees will be selected for work-rights extensions. The announcement is expected in late October after receiving advice from a working advisory group. ustralia’s Prime Minister defended recently a longstanding protocol that bars the nation’s Parliament from sitting for 15 days after a British monarch’s death. This means Parliament will sit again on September 23 to debate a condolence motion for Queen Elizabeth II, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said. Albanese wants to project himself as a traditionalist, though he is known to be in favour of replacing the British monarch with a President as the nation’s head of state. But recently following the Queen’s death, Albanese has
said that after the post-mortem and other formalities, the bodies have been handed over to the family. Cremation would take place under security later in the day. Security has also been beefed up in the district to prevent demonstrations and protests in the area.
NIA raids 60 locations linked to gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jathedi New Delhi, Sep 12 (IANS) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was conducting raids at 60 locations across India at the premises belonging to gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jathedi, Bambaiya and Kaushal Chaudhary in connection with the latest cases lodged against them. The raids started early Monday morning. The NIA officials were tight-lipped when contacted. The NIA had been mulling action against big gangsters like Bishnoi, Kapil Sangwan and Neeraj Bawana and their aides. The Union Home Ministry had asked the NIA to uproot their entire network as they were involved in targeted killings and were acting like terrorists. Recently the NIA had prepared a dossier and took permission from the home ministry to initiate action against these gangs. The gangsters of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh were on the radar of the NIA since then.
