These get-togethers are the perfect way for families to enjoy a nice meal, participate in fun activities, and get to know other families in the community. Each event will feature raffles for special prizes. Pre-registration is required for all our special events.

At the Y, we provide safe, affordable, and fun camps for youth in grades K-8. YMCA Summer Camps offer kids a chance to have fun while building a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships.

SUMMER’S COOLER AT THE YMCA Teen REACH Camp

This summer, the Y will be offering a FREE summer day camp program for students entering 6-8 grade attending a middle school that feeds into Joliet Township High School District 204. Proof of residency is required. At Teen REACH Camp, students will learn to respect themselves and others, work out their differences, and discover the value of true friendship. Campers will also enjoy up to 10 weeks of summer fun full of swimming, sports, outdoor exploration, field trips, and more.

In addition to summer day camp, the YMCA offers a wide variety of sports and specialty camps each summer. Each Y is unique and diverse, just like your child, so programs will vary by location.

2026 FALL YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES

NFL FLAG Football, Junior Wolves Dance Team, and Fall Soccer League

Preschool, Grades K-8

The YMCA Junior Wolves sports program is offering three coed programs this fall: A Youth Soccer League, an NFL Flag Football League, and our Junior Wolves Dance team. Open to all skills levels ages 4-14, teams will practice, compete, and perform at Joliet Junior College’s athletic facilities. Practices occur once per week starting the week of August 9 and teams will compete and perform for at least eight games starting the week of August 23.

Flag Football is open for ages 4-6 will play 8 regular season games. Age divisions 7 and up will play 7 regular season games and at least 1 playoff game.

Youth Soccer is an 8 game season.

The Junior Wolves Dance team will perform at halftime of league games and will receive a purple Y dance shirt. Participants in our Youth Soccer League will receive a game jersey and NFL Flag Football League will receive a game jersey and warm up shirt. Ages 7 and up will finish the season with a single elimination playoff.

Leagues may be merged with the Village of Shorewood YMCA, Morris Hospital YMCA and C.W. Avery Family YMCA, with games played in Shorewood, Plainfield, Joliet and Morris.

JUNIOR WOLVES

SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Co-ed league open to Grades 3-8

Dates: June 15-July 31

Practices begin the week of June 15. Games begin the week of June 22.

All games and practices will be held at Joliet Junior College on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Five-game season. No playoffs.

No games/practices the week of June 29-July 3.

This recreational league promotes fundamental development and is open to all skill-levels and abilities.

SUMMER YOUTH SOFTBALL

Joliet Township High School/YMCA Summer Youth Softball Program

Ages 6-8 | 5-7 p.m. | $25

The YMCA Junior Wolves program is partnering with Joliet Township High School District 204 for a summer youth softball program. This program is designed for girls, ages 6-8, who are looking to strengthen their game!

Athletes will practice key skills, including catching, throwing, hitting, and base running. Whether your child is brand new to the sport or working to develop their fundamentals, this program is the perfect way for kids to have fun and learn the values of teamwork and sportsmanship!

Participants will attend sessions at both Joliet Central and Joliet West High School.

Programming will run from 5-7 p.m. and include 60 minutes of practice and 60 minutes of gameplay. All participants must bring a glove and are encouraged to bring a helmet, face mask, cleats, and a bat.

Before and After School Youth Enrichment Program

Please see next page for income-based pricing and financial assistance information.

Apply for Financial Assistance and pay as little as $1 per month for Kid Zone. At the Y, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay. DHS funds are accepted. Financial assistance may also be available for those who do not qualify for DHS funds.

In the YMCA’s Before and After School program, kids participate in physical, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. Kids have fun, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Joliet Community YMCA’s Before and After School Program serves children from Troy CCSD 30-C at Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 40 Houbolt Rd. in Joliet. Transportation to and from school is provided by a joint partnership between Troy 30-C and the Joliet Community YMCA.

MONTHLY PROGRAM RATES

The YMCA’s Kid Zone program is designed to meet the needs of local families. When enrolling in the Y’s before and after school program, families can choose from the following enrollment plans.

*10 installments total. Plus a one-time annual $50 non-refundable registration fee per family.

Kid Zone monthly installment payments will be paid via automatic withdrawal from a checking account or debit/credit card. Participants may start attending Kid Zone four business days after the day registration is completed.

There must be 10 registered students to run the program on-site at the elementary schools. After August 3, 2026, sites will be confirmed and families notified.

Child Care Financial Assistance

At the Y, we believe that no one should be denied access to YMCA child care programs based on their inability to pay. Ensuring access for all, Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) funds are accepted and financial assistance is also available. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL

To be eligible, you must live in Illinois, be employed or in school, have children under 13 that need care, and fall within the household income levels listed.

If your family size is larger than five, you can check your eligibility for assistance through IDHS by visiting: www.dhs.state.il.us/applications/childcareeligcalc/eligcalc.html

3. Families that qualify for assistance through IDHS will be directed to visit www.childcarehelp.com to download a Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) application. Please bring your completed application to the YMCA to have it signed before submitting it your local Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Agency.

Applications can be left in the blue drop box located outside of the CCR&R building.

4. As part of the YMCA’s continued partnership with the State of Illinois Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), the Y is required to keep up-to-date immunization records or documented exemptions on file for all children receiving CCAP funding in our Kid Zone program. This documentation is required to maintain your child’s enrollment in Kid Zone and to ensure our program remains in compliance with Illinois and Federal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Health and Safety Standards. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our records current by submitting your child’s immunization record when registering for the Y’s Kid Zone program.

Please note: If your family is not approved for funding through IDHS, assistance may be available through the YMCA’s financial assistance fund. To learn more, please contact the Child Care Director at your local YMCA branch. Families will be required to submit a copy of their IDHS denial letter when applying for assistance through the YMCA.

GYM RENTALS

Members of the community may rent the gym at the Salvation Army Community Center for birthday parties, baby showers, special events, and sporting events/practices.

SATURDAYS AND LIMITED WEEKDAY HOURS ARE AVAILABLE.

RATE: $50 PER HOUR

Dates and hours are subject to availability. Rentals are not available in December. A rental agreement/ deposit are required to reserve the space. Tables and chairs are included. Bluetooth sound system and wireless microphone also included, if requested. A bounce house is available for an additional charge. Renters are responsible for their own decorations, including table coverings, food, and utensils.

The Joliet Community YMCA (JCY) brings vital YMCA youth development, sports, and family programming to neighborhood locations throughout the greater Joliet community. With offices located on the main campus of Joliet Junior College (JJC), the Joliet Community YMCA partners with area churches, local school districts, and other likeminded community organizations to provide year-round programs for Joliet residents of all ages.

The Joliet Community YMCA offers childcare and life-readiness programs specifically designed for students attending schools in Joliet Public Schools District 86, Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C, Laraway School District 70C, and Rockdale School District 84.
