ILC communitycentred update
Sye Whyte CEO ILC
ILC
Opening this year’s ILC Partner Day, Chief Executive Officer Sue Whyte reflected on a transformative 12 months for the business and the wider community it serves.
In a confident and forward-focused update, Sue celebrated the collective achievements of ILC’s partners and outlined the path ahead – one grounded in insight, engagement and collaboration.
Record-breaking growth across the board
ILC continues to go from strength-to-strength, with significant growth across all key areas:
• The number of Corporate Partners has never been higher, with new brands joining from every part of the claims ecosystem.
• Insurer Partner engagement is growing in both depth and breadth, with more tailored involvement in events, insight, and onboarding.
• Event attendance across motor, property, ARC360, ClaimsTech and beyond continues to rise, with new formats ensuring relevance for every audience.
• Community engagement through ILC’s digital platforms and newsletters has reached unprecedented levels, enabling faster access to knowledge and more opportunities to connect.
This collective growth highlights a shared commitment to driving better outcomes across the claims landscape.
Rainbow Trust: £1.4m and counting
A particularly proud milestone for the ILC community has been surpassing £1.4m raised for the Rainbow Trust. The long-standing partnership continues to make a real difference to families with seriously ill children – a cause that remains central to ILC’s values and its belief in building a better tomorrow beyond the boardroom.
Evolving events to deliver more
Sue highlighted the growing strength and strategic impact of ILC’s events, both in format and in purpose.
Flagship gatherings like ClaimsTech and ARC360 are evolving to become year-round platforms for collaboration, while the Property and Motor programmes are expanding to reflect real-world challenges and opportunities.
Recent highlights include:
• A record-breaking Mobility in Insurance launch.
• Continued evolution of the MGA Claims Conference, now established as a key annual touchpoint.
• ARC360’s highest-ever event attendance, reflecting a sector ready to come together and co-create change.
These events don’t just inform – they help shape the content of ILC’s Better Tomorrow reports and strategic discussions across the industry.
Claims Essentials: building for the future
The Claims Essentials programme continues to play a vital role in spotlighting key developments and inspiring future leaders.
The New Generation in Claims initiative, in collaboration with Consumer Intelligence and UCAS, and supported by major employer brands, released its first research report this year – helping to position the claims profession as a career of choice for young talent.
In innovation, ClaimsTech - The Pitch delivered its latest competition – start-ups bringing bold new ideas to market – with wider access and visibility across the ecosystem. The ultimate winner being Symphony – a US based start-up.
And there’s more to come, with new Essentials opportunities and a stronger platform for sharing sector-shaping stories.
More value for Partners
Sue reaffirmed ILC’s commitment to delivering added value for both Corporate and Insurer Partners over the next 12 months.
New benefits include:
• Bi-monthly updates for both Corporate and Insurer Partners to support planning and visibility.
• Deeper consultation to ensure the right people attend the right events.
• Exclusive event offers, early insights and bespoke content opportunities.
This more tailored, insight-driven approach is already making an impact – and will continue to evolve based on partner feedback.
Here’s to a better tomorrow
In closing, Sue thanked all partners for their trust, collaboration and shared ambition: “Together we are creating something powerful – a connected, informed and ambitious community built for the future. Whether you’re new to ILC or have supported us from the start, you’re helping to lead change – and that matters.”
Driving motor forward: ILC unveils major 2025 updates
Chris Ashworth Founder ILC
With a commitment to shaping a ‘better tomorrow’, ILC delivered a significant update on the future of its Motor Sector programme.
The session, led by ILC Founder and Motor Sector Lead Chris Ashworth, outlined new events, digital innovation, and strategic developments designed to elevate the entire motor claims community.
Expanding the events calendar
Top of the agenda was the announcement of a brand-new event, ‘Mobility in Insurance’, scheduled for 16 October at The British Motor Museum in Gaydon. The event promises to offer a timely and indepth examination of mobility’s evolving role within motor claims.
Designed for claims directors, credit hire specialists, technical teams, and procurement professionals, the event will tackle issues such as regulation, mobility models, credit hire, and the updated General Terms Agreement (GTA). An exclusive update from the GTA board is also on the agenda, highlighting the event’s relevance and importance.
Flagship event evolves
ILC’s flagship motor claims conference, Exclusive Motor Claims Conference, returns on 2 October – now in a brand-new venue, Events @ No.6 on Alie Street, London. The invitation-only event will welcome senior representatives from ILC’s Insurer and Corporate Partner communities for a day of keynote presentations, panel discussions, fireside chats and sector-specific insights.
Speakers confirmed include David MacMillan, Chief Executive Officer at esure; Ursula Gibbs, Chief Commercial Officer at Compare the Market; Penny Searles, Chairman of Howden Driving Data Ltd; and Dave Thompson, Claims Director at Tesco Insurance & Money Services. Reflecting the conference’s growing influence, a number of CEOs are expected to attend, underlining its value as a forum for toplevel conversation and collaboration.
Following the event, ILC will publish its firstever Better Tomorrow – CEO Report, providing a summary of the day’s content and an outlook across key motor claims sectors.
Iconic lunch levels up
Another major change was the announcement that ILC’s iconic Motor Networking Lunch – often dubbed the hottest ticket in the industry – is moving from its longstanding home to an iconic, five star venue in the heart of Mayfair – Grosvenor House. The move reflects the event’s ever-growing popularity and ILC’s continued commitment to add value to its community.
Digital growth and engagement
ILC’s digital newsletter has experienced fivefold growth in the past 12 months, now reaching thousands of claims professionals each day. Delivered at no cost extra cost, the newsletter continues to achieve exceptional open rates – a testament to its relevance and quality. The content remains focused on delivering accurate, timely news to help readers stay ahead in an increasingly competitive environment.
Strategic collaboration through the Motor Advisory Board
Significantly, the Motor Advisory Board is being reformed with renewed purpose and energy. The board will include representatives from across the sector, offering diverse perspectives and helping to shape ILC’s direction. Corporate Partners will be invited to one in-person meeting each year, as well as an online session – all part of ILC’s commitment to collaboration and community-driven progress.
As ILC looks ahead, the message is clear: the motor claims sector is evolving rapidly, and ILC is providing the platforms, insights, and partnerships to ensure the industry remains prepared – and connected –for what comes next.
Advisory Board
Property claims programme builds momentum for 2025 and beyond
Alan Soutar Chairman - Property ILC
Alan Soutar, Chair of Property at ILC, shared a compelling update during Partner Day on the evolving property claims programme – spotlighting new initiatives, event launches, returning favourites, and the next phase of digital content designed to support the industry in creating a better tomorrow.
A significant move this year sees the launch of its restructured Property Advisory Board, at the heart of which sits a dedicated cohort of senior leaders within insurers each offering deep expertise and a shared commitment to shaping a better tomorrow for the industry.
The board will help guide ILC’s property claims strategy, championing best practice and innovation across the market. The structure ensures that voices from across the spectrum – claims, supply chain, and customer experience – are part of shaping impactful dialogue and action.
Focused events with wider reach
A key element to developments is the broadening of the sector, now labelled under a more encompassing ‘property’ umbrella which includes commercial, domestic and specialist areas.
These moves are reflected in the newly formatted two-day, property conference titled ‘Making property claims quicker & more effective’, which takes place 26–27 November at the Telford International Centre.
The event, created to delve into practical ways to improve speed and effectiveness across the claims lifecycle, for 2025 includes a newly added Advisory Board meeting and Welcome Reception on 26 November, ahead of the main Conference & Expo taking place on 27 November.
Looking further ahead
Looking ahead to 2026, the Property Claims Networking Lunch returns to the Grand Connaught Rooms on 27 March. A firm favourite in the ILC calendar, the lunch provides a relaxed but highly
productive platform for insurers, loss adjusters, suppliers and service providers to connect in person and strengthen relationships across the sector.
Also confirmed for 2026 is the Subsidence Claims Conference, scheduled for 30 April at the British Motor Museum. This one-day event will examine the subsidence claims journey in depth – from data-led prevention through to recovery and resolution. The format will include sector insight, operational case studies and regulatory perspectives, all framed to equip attendees with actionable takeaways.
Property news: a digital leap
Recognising the need for clear, consistent communication in a fast-changing sector, ILC is introducing a bi-weekly digital newsletter specifically for property claims professionals.
These newsletters will provide timely updates, news and sector analysis – ensuring readers have access to the insight they need to navigate challenges and opportunities. These updates will be exclusively available in the new ILC App.
This evolution builds on the continued success of Better Tomorrow, ILC’s digital post-event publications. The most recent property edition reflected on this year’s Specialist Subsidence Conference, providing high-quality takeaways and showcasing sector voices in a clear, digestible format.
A connected future
With more events, more relevant content, and more opportunities to collaborate, ILC’s Property claims programme continues to evolve with the needs of the industry.
Alan emphasised the importance of shared progress: “These developments reflect what our partners and community have asked for – more space to learn, connect and drive better outcomes. Whether through in-person events or digital insight, ILC is committed to supporting the sector in making property claims more effective for all.”
The message is clear: through insight, collaboration, and innovation, ILC continues to help the property claims sector move forward together – and shape a better tomorrow.

Following the various exciting updates from ILC - detailing efforts to deliver even greater value to the claims community - it was time to enjoy a game of bowls in a sun-baked Finsbury Square all in aid of ILC charity partner, Rainbow Trust.
Guests were divided into teams - sponsored by some of the industry’s leading organisations and headed by a team captain - all of which helped raise funds for Rainbow Trust.
It was then on to the ‘serious’ task of discovering who would take the crown of ILC bowls champion 2025...
