Welcome
Welcome to this special edition of Better Tomorrow – providing a visual overview of ILC’s Partner Day 2024 plus a recap of the exciting ILC announcements made on the day.
I would first like to express a sincere thanks to all those who joined us on the day. The ILC Partner Day provides an incredible opportunity to bring the whole ILC community together in exclusive and relaxed surroundings.
It is also our chance for us to say ‘thank you’ to all of our Partners for the ongoing support and contribution you make to the ILC claims community – the influence and scale of which continues to grow.
This year’s special guest speaker Dr Jo Salter MBE was the perfect guest - as the first female fastjet pilot in the Royal Air Force, Jo broke barriers and continues to inspire many. She now focuses on leadership development and STEM advocacy, empowering the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Chief Executive Officer ILC
Jo – who spoke about her pioneering career and experience she now possesses - provided the perfect portrayal of what we are trying to achieve for the industry with our New Generation in Claims programme (see page 6) which is too supported in many ways by the launch of the Summer Networking Event – a new concept for the insurance industry.
Both the above – discussed on the day – along with developments with our digital content strategy are innovations to help positively influence the perception of the sector, continue to broaden the ILC community and, ultimately, ensure our Partners are front and centre of that progressive movement.
We are truly excited to be working alongside you all to ensure a ‘better tomorrow’ for the insurance claims sector and, vitally, for all those who rely on our services everyday.
Thank you all once again for your ongoing support.
Best wishes
Sue
New Generation in Claims
SUE WHYTE Chief Executive Officer ILC
Partner Day 2024 provided the opportunity to provide some exciting updates on ‘next steps’ for the New Generation in Claims programme. Here we provide an overview of what is to come and how to get involved.
ILC’s New Generation in Claims programme – sponsored by Carpenters Group, Enterprise Mobility and Zurich along with our New Generation Ambassadors: Activate Group; edam; Gemini Accident Repair Centres; Innovation Group; Kennedys; S&G Response; Solera Audatex; and Volkswagen Group UK – is gaining momentum.
Not only did this year’s event prove a great success but we were also inspired by the volume of responses and level of ideas we received when asking ‘what next’ to help shape future activity. One quote in particular stood out which we felt encapsulated everything: ‘Coordinate a joinedup approach and lead us through it. Find tangible actions.”
From this we are delighted to announce our ‘next step’ and have teamed up with Consumer Intelligence and UCAS to create the largest survey of young people in the UK and their attitudes towards a career in insurance. To provide a little context, UCAS.com receives 25.4m unique visitors to per year and over seven million apprenticeship searches.
Interestingly, of a random selection of 50 brands present in the room during the day, only three were registered with and visible on the UCAS. In addition, research previously carried out by Consumer Intelligence in partnership with BIBA –highlighted 36% of young people have considered a career in insurance yet 69% of those working in insurance say they’ve found an industry in which they want to pursue a career.
As the Polly case study highlighted on the day there is real potential to change perceptions of this industry and in Polly’s words turn it from: ‘boring, corporate and autocratic’ into: ‘collaborative, diverse and adapting’.
There’s clearly work to be done but we are excited to kick start this project to find out more.
On the note of collaborative, diverse and adapting plans for the Summer Networking Event are now in full swing – to find out more about how to get involved in what promises to be a new era of fun, activity based events for the sector contact ILC Sales and Account Manager, Liane Price on liane@iloveclaims.com

Content Director ILC
During Partner Day 2024 we announced our ‘better tomorrow’ intent to support the claims sector with fast, accurate and relevant news moving ahead. This was validated by the survey carried out on the day which highlighted 86% in the room felt these three criteria were ‘very important’ to their role.
Here we provide more insight into our plans for digital content.
ILC has and continues to build a very strong reputation for delivering highly valuable events for the insurance claims sector. Somewhat in the background we have also developed our content output – which, amongst a number of other elements, currently includes two weekly news round-ups:
ILC Breakfast News - delivered every Wednesday, providing an overview of all claims sector insights during the previous seven days
ARC360 News Round-Up – delivered every Friday, featuring insights from across the automotive accident repair sector
Both are delivered direct to subscribers’ inboxes, free of charge.
Both news round-ups provide news, industry interviews, new generation interviews, thought leadership, industry snapshots, and event reports to thousands of claims professionals.
With our active involvement in the insurance market via our inhouse team of claims experts and the wide reaching, sector insight available via the ILC community we are perfectly placed to apply true market intelligence to developments.
Our aim now is to be better and ensure we ‘hit the mark’ in our next steps.
Firstly, the feedback provided during Partner Day is priceless and truly helps shape our plans for the future – thank you for the valued insight (highlights of which you can see in the infographics).
In combination with our own ‘better tomorrow ’ ethos and your input we are now set to take the first steps on our digital content journey to bring you fast, accurate and relevant information with the introduction of our daily motor claims newsletter coming soon.
This will combine both ILC Motor and an ARC360 snapshot into a single, daily newsletter delivered direct to your inbox.
