BENEDICT JOINS THE AMERICAN HEREFORD ASSOCIATION TEAM Noah Benedict, Dewey, Ill., joined the American Hereford Association (AHA) Oct. 1 as the association’s Upper Midwest field representative. Benedict will represent the AHA to members in the region and assist with association activities and services. He will travel to conduct herd visits, attend sales, sell advertising for Hereford Publications Inc. (HPI) and establish relationships with industry representatives to promote the breed. “I am passionate about the success of the Hereford breed and look forward to connecting with breeders in my region and across the country,” Benedict says. “With my prior involvement in the Hereford breed, I am excited to continue building relationships and assisting breeders.” Benedict is the fifth generation on his family’s Hereford operation. During his time as a member of the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) he was elected to the board of directors and is currently finishing his term as chairman. Benedict will graduate from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the spring of 2022 with a degree in agriculture consumer economics with a focus in agribusiness markets and management. “We are excited to welcome Noah to the AHA field staff team,” says Joe Rickabaugh, AHA director of seedstock marketing. “He is a talented young man with a passion for the Herford breed and its breeders. Coming from a Hereford background and a rich history with the NJHA makes him a great hire for the territory five position.” Prior to joining the AHA, Benedict gained experience during two prior marketing internships with Homestead Capitol Inc. and Early Bird Feeds. During his latest internship with Early Bird Feeds, Benedict served as the beef sales intern. Benedict will attend many AHA functions and sales through the fall and winter months as he finishes his last college semester. He will transition to full time starting January 1, 2022.
