Amylases are amongst most widely used enzymes in industries such as food, fermentation, starch processing, textile,
and paper. In the present investigation, bacteria were isolated from soil samples of different areas of Padmashri Vikhe Patil
College, Pravaranagar, Maharashtra, India screened for the production of amylase. Soil samples were serially diluted in normal
saline and plated on sterile nutrient agar plates.
