Aluminum metal matrix composites are widely employed in a variety of applications due to their superior mechanical
qualities when compared to their parent Al alloy. Stir casting was used to create an aluminum alloy (LM6) reinforced with 1, 1.5, and 2% Alumina (Al2O3) and 1% Silicon carbide (SiC) micro particles. Composites were first warmed and then blended with an aluminum alloy (LM6) before analyzing the mechanical characteristics of the Al-Al2O3-SiC composite.
