The findings also reveal that, while Simple Active Learning (SAL) is significantly more effective than SPL, it is typically less effective than Continuous Active Learning (CAL), and only as effective as CAL in a best-case situation unlikely to occur in practice. The impact of various CNN settings on predictive model performance was researched in [5], which looked at the use of CNNs for text categorization in legal cases. It also demonstrates how varied parameter settings affect model performance. III. METHODOLOGY A. Batch Mode Learning (DS and BPS). Both DS and BPS promote diversity, but they differ in how they choose an instance: DS uses deterministic selection, whereas BPS uses probabilistic selection.
