In today’s era there has been a huge demand in the automation space where most of the human tasks could be
operated remotely. IoT (Internet enabled devices) makes it possible with the usage of sensors and gateways. The success of
mission critical systems depends upon how quickly such devices respond. Edge computing can boost up the responsiveness of
these devices by offloading certain computational tasks closer to these devices. Merging these technologies with blockchain
makes this distributed system more secure and reliable. Our paper focuses on these technologies, their working and how well
they complement each other when integrated. The main focus is to shed some light on the key metrics for measuring
responsiveness of the system.
