In many developing countries the small scale poultry are the main producers of large scale poultry production systems. Poultry
industry provides employment at village level and also to minimize the need for migration to overcrowded cities. It provides protein
rich food for deadly growing poor population. Poultry plays an important socio-economic and nutritional role in the livelihood of
rural households in many developing countries, (Adesiji, et. al.2013).The poultry production system can provide an alternate source
to the farmers in the region reeling under repeated drought spell. Maharashtra is amongst the leading states for commercial layer and
broiler farming.
