features. The behavior of a material is therefore greatly dependent on the surface of a material, surface contact area and the
environment under which the material must operate surface engineering a wide range of functional properties can be developed
by techniques including physical, chemical, electric, electronic, magnetic, mechanical, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant
properties on the necessary surfaces of the substrata. Almost all materials such as metals and ceramics can be filled with identical
or different materials by polymers or composites. Coatings of newer materials, graded deposits, multi-component deposits etc. can
also be formed.
