Dear Partner in ministry,

If we want our young people to be saved, we must fight for their salvation.

In the last few days, I have had many conversations with anguished parents and grandparents, each of whom has asked me the same question: “Pastor, how do we keep our children in the church?” As new grandparents, Melissa and I have been thinking about this question more than ever. While it is not an easy question to answer, there is one thing that is absolutely non-negotiable: If you want to keep your children or grandchildren in the church, start early. This is why It Is Written has a ministry especially for children. For more than a decade, My Place With Jesus has been providing resources for families to grow the faith of their children. These resources have played a vital role in developing within children a love for God and a deep and abiding friendship with Jesus. My wife, Melissa, leads My Place With Jesus and has dedicated herself to helping children experience a living faith and helping parents steer their children towards the streets of gold. Yet we both know this is an extremely difficult time to be a child. Young people are bombarded with temptation, and technology and shifting societal sands have provided more opportunities than ever to yield to those temptations. If we want our young people to be saved, we must fight for their salvation.
