At the Building For The Kingdom VBS pilot program children punched an old-fashioned time clock before entering the ‘construction site’.

Dear Partner in ministry,

As I write, my wife, Melissa is at a nearby church preparing for the second night of Vacation Bible School. This year, Melissa is piloting a brand new Vacation Bible School program she has created, and children are loving it.

Building For The Kingdom is a construction-themed VBS that teaches children about building. Each night, they punch an old-fashioned time clock before entering a ‘construction site’, where they learn not only about building, but the most important building project of all: building character for the kingdom of heaven.

Just last night Melissa and I looked at photos posted online by a church conducting Flight 3:16, the Vacation Bible School It Is Written released a couple of years ago. We’re thrilled that churches are using Flight 3:16 to introduce church kids and community kids to Jesus. Many people get in touch to tell us what a huge impact Flight 3:16 is making. In fact, at our own local church, a couple were baptized recently whose first point of contact with the church was Flight 3:16. We’re looking forward to hearing the same about Building For The Kingdom.

It Is Written’s children’s ministry resources are making a major impact in shaping children for eternity. Melissa and I are told regularly about young people who prepared for baptism by studying the My Place With Jesus Bible Guides, now considered by many to be the gold standard for children’s Bible Study guides. At a recent camp meeting, family after family told our team how important these Bible studies have been to their children. We are grateful the Lord is using It Is Written Children’s Ministry materials in such a powerful way.

At Chattanooga First Church, children experienced the construction-themed Building For The Kingdom pilot VBS, where hands-on activities reinforced Bible lessons about building their lives on Jesus.

One of the motivating factors in the creation of Building For The Kingdom was a phone call we received from a Baptist church. “May we come and visit It Is Written?” they asked. “We want to get your new Vacation Bible School program. We loved Flight 3:16 so much we can’t wait to see what you have next!”

While Building For The Kingdom was definitely on the drawing board, it hadn’t yet been created. So Melissa got right to work, and wrote a VBS that will not only engage children, but introduce them to a loving Savior and Best Friend. Baptist, Pentecostal and other churches have used Flight 3:16 and reported encouraging results. “I love to see people connecting with our resources, and using them to grow the faith of not only children, but many adults as well. We’re creating materials that moms and dads and grandparents can have confidence in. They’re Biblical, Christ-centered and fun , ideal for helping children grow in their faith and learn to love the God who loves them,” Melissa told me.

When a church organization in Europe reached out to It Is Written to request permission to translate some of our Bible study materials for use in their corner of God’s vineyard, we saw again how God is using our My Place With Jesus children’s resources. A church school system in Europe is using the My Place With Jesus Bible Guides in multiple church schools as a key component of their Bible classes.

Your special support of It Is Written this month will enable us to develop Building For The Kingdom—and more—into a completed resource ready for use by churches of many denominations all over the country and around the world. These are quality children’s materials, prayerfully designed to turn children in the direction of heaven.

using It Is Written resources. And I believe we have much more to do. Satan is fighting desperately for our children and grandchildren.

It’s tough to be a kid today. I think back to my own childhood, and while there were plenty of temptations, it was nothing like it is today. Raising a child for eternity requires much prayer, careful parenting, and resources that will encourage a child to surrender their life to Jesus.

It Is Written is creating those very resources. But we can’t do it without your help. I asked Melissa if she had a message to share with you. She said, “First, please say thank you. We can’t do anything at all without the prayers and support of our Partners and friends. And please mention how important this really is. Children everywhere are losing their way. We talk and talk about how so many young people leave the church, and this is a way to combat that. If we invest in children now, they have a much greater chance of surviving this world and being ready to meet Jesus when He comes back. We all want to see our children saved more than virtually anything else. I want people to know that if we work together on this, we’ll make a huge difference. For eternity.”

The Early Learner Bible Guides will enable little ones to do their very own Bible studies, and grow their faith in Jesus.

Another brand new resource soon to be released is the Early Learner Bible Guides. These studies are for children aged from around 4 to 6. Even children who can’t read can do the Early Learner Bible Guides. Following the same progression as the My Place With Jesus Bible Guides, the Early Learner Bible Guides will enable little ones to do their very own Bible studies, and grow their faith in Jesus. It’s never too early to learn the gospel. I’m excited about the Early Learner Bible Guides. You can expect them to be available soon.

P.S. My Place with Jesus is creating materials you can use to reach children. Flight 3:16, a VBS program created only a couple of years ago, is already impacting many young lives for God’s Kingdom. A new, soon-to-be-released VBS, Building for the Kingdom, will do more of the same. In this time in earth’s history, nothing could be more important than the salvation of our children.
