Dear Partner in ministry, Although life was good, Sandra felt empty. While she had a happy marriage, a stable job, two children, and was part of a local church, she wasn’t able to shake the restlessness she was experiencing.
“Escrito Está was a clear answer.”
“I had no peace,” Sandra recalled. “I prayed for direction, but didn’t know which way to go.” Although she attended church with her family, there were many things that didn’t fit with what she read in the Bible. She wanted to know God’s word, but was frustrated by teachings that were obviously traditions. As she was watching television one day, Sandra saw a Christian program on a popular free-to-air channel in her home city of Bogotá, Colombia. She watched It Is Written’s Spanish-language program, Escrito Está, presented by Pastor Robert Costa. A message at the end of the program caught her attention. It said, “We want to pray for you.” Not long after responding to the message, Sandra and her husband, Fernando, were studying the Bible with a Bible worker in her area. “It was a huge relief,” Sandra said. “I felt that God was answering my prayers. We wanted to seek God, but in a biblical way. Escrito Está was a clear answer.”
Sandra and Fernando.
They were blessed as they learned what the Bible taught.“We saw that the Sabbath is the day God sanctified at creation,” Fernando said. “It was a discovery that confronted us, but also filled us with peace.” Life has begun again for Sandra, Fernando, and their family. “In our old church, we often heard more about the life of the preacher than about the word of God. Now, it’s all about Scripture. As the name of the program says, Escrito Está. It is written!”
