Resource event for former offenders
R
ialto Re-Entry Support Team’s monthly resource event is set for 8:30 a.m March 28 at the Johnson Community Center, 214 N. Palm Avenue. The event is open to those on probation, parole and county residents looking for employment, rehabilitation and outreach services and runs until 11 a.m. During the resource event participants have the opportunity to network with service providers and employers on a one-on-one basis to help receive the assistance necessary to successfully transition into the workforce or community, said Rialto police Cpl. Gregory Marquez, who coordinates the program. Monthly, more than a dozen vendors are available at the event offering services and assistance such as health care classes, counseling, job development, drug treatment programs and referrals to other services. The ultimate goal of the program is to produce self-sufficient and law-abiding members of the community, he said.
