Art Alliance of Idyllwild

Idyllwild Deer Sightings is a trail of over 60 painted deer sculptures and 2 coyotes celebrating the uniqueness and history of Idyllwild. Begun in 2013, the herd expanded in 2018 and 2021.

Painted by local AAI artists and scattered throughout town, use the “Deer Sightings Map” to see them all. Maps are available at the Idyllwild Area Historical Society, at businesses around Idyllwild and at the Town Monument Bulletin Board www.ArtInIdyllwild.org.

Living Free is a no-kill animal sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, cats, and horses. We provide lifetime care or adoption opportunities for animals in need, focusing especially on those at risk of euthanasia. Our Equine Therapy programs, including our flagship War Horse Creek for veterans, offer healing experiences that strengthen the bond between humans and animals.

Where to Get Permits

There are no fees for permits.

Permits cover up to 12 people per group. A day-hike permit is not required if you already have an overnight permit.

Silver PineS

Silver Pines Lodge has been an Inn since 1952 and has hosted hundreds of guests. The Lodge sits on 1-1/2 acres of pine forest overlooking Strawberry Creek, about 2 blocks from the Village of Idyllwild. Each unit has its own unique identity. Most rooms have fireplaces and about half have kitchens. Silver Pines also has individual cabins, a duplex and triplex and 5 units connected to the main lodge building. Every room has its own refrigerator, bathroom, color cable TV and complimentary coffee.

Comfortable, Romantic, and Historic! Our nearly 100-year-old Historic Lodge on Strawberry Creek features 10 rooms & 3 cabins. Rustic yet comfortably furnished.
