People see the finished cut, the clean fade, the sharp line-up, but what they don’t always see is everything behind the chair.
I didn’t just wake up one day and become “SheCutz.” This came from long days, late nights, sacrifice, and choosing growth even when it was uncomfortable. There were moments I doubted myself, felt overlooked, and questioned if I was doing enough. But every setback taught me something, and every lesson pushed me forward.
For me, barbering has never been just about hair. It’s a space where people can sit, talk, and leave feeling better than when they walked in. It’s confidence, it’s care, it’s real conversations. One chair, one conversation at a time—that’s what I stand on.

In cancer care, timing matters. Delays can affect outcomes, and navigating a complex system alone can add unnecessary stress at a time when clarity is needed most.

“Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be

Care planning is supported through multidisciplinary team reviews, where clinicians work together to determine the most appropriate pathway for each patient. This coordinated approach reduces delays and ensures decisions are informed by a broad clinical perspective.
“Our Cancer Navigators help remove barriers and save valuable time so patients can move forward with care as quickly as possible,” Dr Fosker said.
The service is available to anyone in Bermuda, including those who have not previously been patients of the Centre, and is provided with no co-pay.
Access to care is a core part of the model. Through community support, Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre ensures that services such as navigation, screening, and treatment remain available regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
While much of cancer care begins after diagnosis, the strongest outcomes are still linked to early detection.
Screening plays an essential role in identifying cancer at its earliest and most treatable stages. In Bermuda,
recommended screening generally includes:
• Cervical cancer screening beginning at age 25
• Annual mammograms for women starting at age 40
• Colorectal cancer screening for men and women from age 45
• Prostate cancer screening for higherrisk men from age 45, and from age 50 for others
• Lung cancer screening for highrisk individuals aged 50–80 with a significant smoking history
Individual risk factors, including family history and other health considerations, may mean screening should begin earlier.
Knowing when to screen is important. Knowing what to do next can be just as critical.

Dr Patrick Murray has been providing specialist cancer care at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre since joining the organisation in 2020. With extensive oncology experience in both the UK and Bermuda, he supports patients through treatment with skill, compassion, and a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes.
Originally from the UK, Dr. Murray trained at the University of Leeds and later worked at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the UK’s leading cancer centres. He also completed advanced fellowship training at Leeds Cancer Centre, where he developed expertise in precision radiation treatments for a range of cancers, including head and neck cancers.
Dr. Murray combines evidence-based medicine with a patient-centred approach, ensuring each treatment plan is carefully tailored to the individual. He also takes part in multidisciplinary team meetings, where specialists from across Bermuda and overseas colleagues review patients together and help guide the best treatment recommendations.

Dr. Paul Risk Specialist Radiologist – Breast Imaging
Dr. Paul Risk is a highly experienced radiologist with a specialist focus in breast imaging. Since joining Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre in 2021, he has helped patients access expert breast diagnostic care locally, providing reassurance, clarity and timely answers when they matter most.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, Dr. Risk earned his medical degree from Dalhousie University before completing specialist training in Diagnostic Radiology at McMaster University in Ontario. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Before relocating to Bermuda, Dr. Risk spent many years practising in Calgary, Alberta, where he helped develop a dedicated breast imaging and intervention service within a large hospital and community network. His extensive experience includes mammography, breast ultrasound and image-guided biopsy procedures.
Dr. Risk combines clinical expertise with a calm, patient-focused approach. He also participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, bringing together specialists from across Bermuda and, when needed, overseas, to review findings and help guide the best recommendations for each patient.
At Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, he is part of the specialist team helping ensure women in Bermuda have access to high-quality breast imaging, expert interpretation and diagnostic care close to home.

Dr. Kiandra Simons, MBBS, DM (Internal Medicine)
Dr. Kiandra Simons, MBBS, DM (Internal Medicine) is proud to serve her community as an internist and primary care provider. Having begun her academic journey with an Associate of Science from Bermuda College, Dr. Simons went on to pursue medical training at The University of the West Indies (UWI). She earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at UWI in St. Augustine, Trinidad; she then obtained her Doctor of Medicine in Internal Medicine at UWI in Mona, Jamaica. During her time in the Caribbean, she excelled in her training and developed excellent interpersonal skills.
She brings a wealth of clinical expertise to the team, with a specialized focus on managing complex chronic conditions and preventative health. Dr. Simons’ experience spans from management of day-to-day, chronic illnesses to specialized internal medicine care, providing her with a unique perspective on the full spectrum of patient wellness. She prides herself on her critical thinking and problem-solving skills, working closely with her patients to develop effective, personalized health goals.
Dr. Simons is committed to providing exceptional primary care with a compassionate, patient-first philosophy. She is now working at Hope Healthcare as of May, 2026.
Dr Alasdair Trimble, MBChB, MRCGP
Dr Alasdair Trimble, MBChB, MRCGP, is from Belfast, United Kingdom. He attended the University of Glasgow where he attained his medical degree. He completed his Foundation Year Training (internship) in Northern Ireland and then worked in Emergency Medicine for two years. Following this he completed the three year programme to obtain his Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2023.
He has experience in internal medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, emergency medicine, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology and general practice. Since obtaining his MRCGP he has been working as a GP and has retained a special interest in emergency medicine, minor surgery and procedural work. Optimising lifestyle factors to prevent and improve medical conditions is a particular passion and strength.
He moved with his family to Bermuda in September 2025 to start working at Hope Healthcare. Outside of work he enjoys relaxing with his family and friends and staying active through a multitude of sports including running, cycling and windsurfing. He is a rugby fan and is ambitious to learn to play golf and to improve his tennis.
