What does a Cultural Trust grant make possible for emerging artists in the longer term? In this year’s annual report, we put the question to some of our past grantees, who shared with us the ways in which placing their practice in an international context has influenced their creative and professional growth. You can read up on their stories in the online version of our annual report, as well as some extended interviews in this edition of The Coronet. Two of the artists to receive Cultural Trust grants in the latest funding round got us thinking about what it means to be emerging. Kym Maxwell has long juggled her artistic practice with teaching, and is now bringing her background in education to bear on her creative work. Ben Noble has been performing for years, and is finally at the point of wanting to dedicate himself full-time to acting.
