Aword from our CEO Celebrating your achievements

As 2019 draws to a close, we wish to recognise the accomplishments our grantees have made this year in their respective artistic fields. These include the publication of a novel, a large-scale public mural, international and local exhibitions, the premieres of theatre shows among many others.

In particular, I would like to congratulate classical music grantee Georgia Wilkinson, who recently won the 2019 Herald SunAria Prize of $35,000. Georgia is the first Cultural Trust

Our latest funding round saw 19 emerging artists awarded Cultural Trust grants to travel around the world and pursue a variety of professional development opportunities. It’s exciting to see what each of our newest grantees have planned for 2020. We explore the unique professional development opportunities of two new grantees – performance artist Emily McKnight and visual artist Shireen Taweel – below. We also share two previous grantees' development project experiences. Further past grantees share their experiences in Shifting Perspectives, the 2019 CulturalTrustAnnual Grants Report, which is now available online

In 2020, we are looking forward to supporting more artists on their development journeys. We also keenly anticipate the premiere of IPMIC 2020, Gabriella Hirst’s Darling Darling (working title), which has been in development for the past year

I hope all our Cultural Trust grantees have had a successful year. We are very pleased to be able to share your stories, so please continue sending us news of your accomplishments.
