12Howartthoufallenfromheaven,OLucifer,sonofthemorning!howartthoucutdowntothe ground,whichdidstweakenthenations!
13Forthouhastsaidinthineheart,Iwillascendintoheaven,Iwillexaltmythroneabovethestars ofGod:Iwillsitalsouponthemountofthecongregation,inthesidesofthenorth: 14Iwillascendabovetheheightsoftheclouds;IwillbelikethemostHigh 15Yetthoushaltbebroughtdowntohell,tothesidesofthepit.
16Theythatseetheeshallnarrowlylookuponthee,andconsiderthee,saying,Isthisthemanthat madetheearthtotremble,thatdidshakekingdoms;
17Thatmadetheworldasawilderness,anddestroyedthecitiesthereof;thatopenednotthehouse ofhisprisoners?
18Allthekingsofthenations,evenallofthem,lieinglory,everyoneinhisownhouse.
19Butthouartcastoutofthygravelikeanabominablebranch,andastheraimentofthosethatare slain,thrustthroughwithasword,thatgodowntothestonesofthepit;asacarcasetroddenunder feet.
20Thoushaltnotbejoinedwiththeminburial,becausethouhastdestroyedthyland,andslainthy people:theseedofevildoersshallneverberenowned.

11MoreoverthewordoftheLORDcameuntome,saying, 12Sonofman,takeupalamentationuponthekingofTyrus,andsayuntohim,ThussaiththeLord GOD;Thousealestupthesum,fullofwisdom,andperfectinbeauty
13ThouhastbeeninEdenthegardenofGod;everypreciousstonewasthycovering,thesardius, topaz,andthediamond,theberyl,theonyx,andthejasper,thesapphire,theemerald,andthe carbuncle,andgold:theworkmanshipofthytabretsandofthypipeswaspreparedintheeintheday thatthouwastcreated.
14Thouarttheanointedcherubthatcovereth;andIhavesettheeso:thouwastupontheholy mountainofGod;thouhastwalkedupanddowninthemidstofthestonesoffire
15Thouwastperfectinthywaysfromthedaythatthouwastcreated,tilliniquitywasfoundinthee.
16Bythemultitudeofthymerchandisetheyhavefilledthemidstoftheewithviolence,andthou hastsinned:thereforeIwillcasttheeasprofaneoutofthemountainofGod:andIwilldestroythee, Ocoveringcherub,fromthemidstofthestonesoffire.
17Thineheartwasliftedupbecauseofthybeauty,thouhastcorruptedthywisdombyreasonofthy brightness:Iwillcasttheetotheground,Iwilllaytheebeforekings,thattheymaybeholdthee.
18Thouhastdefiledthysanctuariesbythemultitudeofthineiniquities,bytheiniquityofthy traffick;thereforewillIbringforthafirefromthemidstofthee,itshalldevourthee,andIwillbring theetoashesupontheearthinthesightofallthemthatbeholdthee
19Alltheythatknowtheeamongthepeopleshallbeastonishedatthee:thoushaltbeaterror,and nevershaltthoubeanymore.

1AfterCainhadgonedowntothelandofdarksoil,andhischildrenhadmultipliedtherein,there wasoneofthem,whosenamewasGenun,sonofLamechtheblindwhoslewCain
2ButastothisGenun,Satancameintohiminhischildhood;andhemadesundrytrumpetsand horns,andstringinstruments,cymbalsandpsalteries,andlyresandharps,andflutes;andheplayed onthematalltimesandateveryhour
3Andwhenheplayedonthem,Satancameintothem,sothatfromamongthemwereheard beautifulandsweetsounds,thatravishedtheheart
4Thenhegatheredcompaniesuponcompaniestoplayonthem;andwhentheyplayed,itpleased wellthechildrenofCain,whoinflamedthemselveswithsinamongthemselves,andburntaswith fire;whileSataninflamedtheirhearts,onewithanother,andincreasedlustamongthem
5SatanalsotaughtGenuntobringstrongdrinkoutofcom;andthisGenunusedtobringtogether companiesuponcompaniesindrink-houses;andbroughtintotheirhandsallmanneroffruitsand flowers;andtheydranktogether
6ThusdidthisGenunmultiplysinexceedingly;healsoactedwithpride,andtaughtthechildrenof Caintocommitallmannerofthegrossestwickedness,whichtheyknewnot;andputthemupto manifolddoingswhichtheyknewnotbefore.
7ThenSatan,whenhesawthattheyyieldedtoGenunandhearkenedtohimineverythinghetold them,rejoicedgreatly,increasedGenun'sunderstanding,untilhetookironandwithitmadeweapons ofwar.
8Thenwhentheyweredrunk,hatredandmurderincreasedamongthem;onemanusedviolence againstanothertoteachhimeviltakinghischildrenanddefilingthembeforehim.
9Andwhenmensawtheywereovercome,andsawothersthatwerenotoverpowered,thosewho werebeatencametoGenun,tookrefugewithhim,andhemadethemhisconfederates
10Thensinincreasedamongthemgreatly;untilamanmarriedhisownsister,ordaughter,or mother,andothers;orthedaughterofhisfather'ssister,sothattherewasnomoredistinctionof relationship,andtheynolongerknewwhatisiniquity;butdidwickedly,andtheearthwasdefiled withsin,andtheyangeredGodtheJudge,whohadcreatedthem.
11ButGenungatheredtogethercompaniesuponcompanies,thatplayedonhornsandonallthe otherinstrumentswehavealreadymentioned,atthefootoftheHolyMountain;andtheydidsoin orderthatthechildrenofSethwhowereontheHolyMountainshouldhearit
12ButwhenthechildrenofSethheardthenoise,theywondered,andcamebycompanies,andstood onthetopofthemountaintolookatthosebelow;andtheydidthusawholeyear.
13When,attheendofthatyear,Genunsawthattheywerebeingwonovertohimlittlebylittle, Satanenteredintohim,andtaughthimtomakedyeing-stuffsforgarmentsofdiverspatterns,and madehimunderstandhowtodyecrimsonandpurpleandwhatnot.
14AndthesonsofCainwhowroughtallthis,andshoneinbeautyandgorgeousapparel,gathered togetheratthefootofthemountaininsplendour,withhornsandgorgeousdresses,andhorseraces, committingallmannerofabominations
15MeanwhilethechildrenofSeth,whowereontheHolyMountain,prayedandpraisedGod,inthe placeofthehostsofangelswhohadfallen;whereforeGodhadcalledthem"angels,"becauseHe rejoicedoverthemgreatly
16Butafterthis,theynolongerkeptHiscommandment,norheldbythepromiseHehadmadeto theirfathers;buttheyrelaxedfromtheirfastingandpraying,andfromthecounselofJaredtheir fatherAndtheykeptongatheringtogetheronthetopofthemountain,tolookuponthechildrenof Cain,frommorninguntilevening,anduponwhattheydid,upontheirbeautifuldressesand ornaments.
17ThenthechildrenofCainlookedupfrombelow,andsawthechildrenofSeth,standingintroops onthetopofthemountain;andtheycalledtothemtocomedowntothem.
18ButthechildrenofSethsaidtothemfromabove,"Wedon'tknowtheway."ThenGenun,theson ofLamech,heardthemsaytheydidnotknowtheway,andhebethoughthimselfhowhemightbring themdown.
19ThenSatanappearedtohimbynight,saying,"Thereisnowayforthemtocomedownfromthe mountainonwhichtheydwell;butwhentheycometomorrow,saytothem,'Comeyetothewestern sideofthemountain;thereyouwillfindthewayofastreamofwater,thatcomesdowntothefootof themountain,betweentwohills;comedownthatwaytous'"
20Thenwhenitwasday,Genunblewthehornsandbeatthedrumsbelowthemountain,ashewas wontThechildrenofSethheardit,andcameastheyusedtodo
21ThenGenunsaidtothemfromdownbelow,"Gotothewesternsideofthemountain,thereyou willfindthewaytocomedown."
22ButwhenthechildrenofSethheardthesewordsfromhim,theywentbackintothecavetoJared, totellhimalltheyhadheard.
23ThenwhenJaredheardit,hewasgrieved;forheknewthattheywouldtransgresshiscounsel
24AfterthisahundredmenofthechildrenofSethgatheredtogether,andsaidamongthemselves, "Come,letusgodowntothechildrenofCain,andseewhattheydo,andenjoyourselveswith them"
25ButwhenJaredheardthisofthehundredmen,hisverysoulwasmoved,andhisheartwas grievedHethenarosewithgreatfervour,andstoodinthemidstofthem,andadjuredthembythe bloodofAbelthejust,"Letnotoneofyougodownfromthisholyandpuremountain,inwhichour fathershaveordereditstodwell."
26ButwhenJaredsawthattheydidnotreceivehiswords,hesaiduntothem,"Omygoodand innocentandholychildren,knowthatwhenonceyougodownfromthisholymountain,Godwill notallowyoutoreturnagaintoit"
27Heagainadjuredthem,saying,"IadjurebythedeathofourfatherAdam,andbythebloodof Abel,ofSeth,ofEnos,ofCainan,andofMahalaleel,tohearkentome,andnottogodownfromthis holymountain;forthemomentyouleaveit,youwillbereftoflifeandofmercy;andyoushallno longerbecalled'childrenofGod,'but'childrenofthedevil.'"
28Buttheywouldnothearkentohiswords.
29Enochatthattimewasalreadygrownup,andinhiszealforGod,bearoseandsaid,"Hearme,O yesonsofSeth,smallandgreat--whenyetransgressthecommandmentofourfathers,andgodown fromthisholymountain--yeshallnotcomeuphitheragainforever"
30ButtheyroseupagainstEnoch,andwouldnothearkentohiswords,butwentdownfromthe HolyMountain.
31AndwhentheylookedatthedaughtersofCain,attheirbeautifulfigures,andattheirhandsand feetdyedwithcolour,andtattooedinornamentsontheirfaces,thefireofsinwaskindledinthem.
32ThenSatanmadethemlookmostbeautifulbeforethesonsofSeth,ashealsomadethesonsof SethappearofthefairestintheeyesofthedaughtersofCain,sothatthedaughtersofCainlusted afterthesonsofSethlikeravenousbeasts,andthesonsofSethafterthedaughtersofCain,untilthey committedabominationwiththem
33Butaftertheyhadthusfallenintothisdefilement,theyreturnedbythewaytheyhadcome,and triedtoascendtheHolyMountainButtheycouldnot,becausethestonesofthatholymountainwere offireflashingbeforethem,byreasonofwhichtheycouldnotgoupagain
34AndGodwasangrywiththem,andrepentedofthembecausetheyhadcomedownfromglory, andhadtherebylostorforsakentheirownpurityorinnocence,andwerefallenintothedefilementof sin
35ThenGodsentHisWordtoJared,saying,"Thesethychildren,whomthoudidstcall'My children,'beholdtheyhavetransgressedMycommandment,andhavegonedowntotheabodeof perdition,andofsinSendamessengertothosethatareleft,thattheymaynotgodown,andbelost"
36ThenJaredweptbeforetheLord,andaskedofHimmercyandforgiveness.Buthewishedthathis soulmightdepartfromhisbody,ratherthanhearthesewordsfromGodaboutthegoingdownofhis childrenfromtheHolyMountain
37ButhefollowedGod'sorder,andpreacheduntothemnottogodownfromthatholymountain, andnottoholdintercoursewiththechildrenofCain
38Buttheyheedednothismessage,andwouldnotobeyhiscounsel.
