Meaning:"Comforteth"inourtextmeanstocallnear.Thatis whatGoddoestocomfortus,HedrawsusneartoHimself.Allof our"tribulation"referstoeverypressure,burden,oraffliction. Comfortwillstrengthenthemindwhenitisdepressed,andwill givenewvigortothespiritwhenitisdiscouraged.Godwantsto comfortusinourtrouble.HetellsusinIPeter5:7,"Castingall yourcareuponhim;forhecarethforyou."
