Meaning:OurtextverseisspokenbyJesustoHis disciplesaftertheysawafigtree,thatJesuscursed, witheraway.Theanswertothedisciple'squestioning mindswas,"havefaithanddoubtnot"(Matthew 21:21).FaithtakesGodatHisWordanddoesnotget disheartenedbecauseprayerisnotimmediately answered.Delaycanbethetestofhowstrongyour faithreallyis.
Application:FaithasksinaccordancetoGod'swilland believesthatGodwillansweraccordingtoourspecific request.Ourworlddoesnotneedthewealthy,the intellectual,orpeopleofgreatsocialinfluence,asmuch asitneedsmenoffaithandmightyprayer.Faithis increasedbytheWordoffaithandmightyprayer.Faith isincreasedbytheWordofGod(Romans10:17)and willbeexercisedthroughtestingandtrials(IPeter1:6, 7).C.H.Spurgeonsaid,"FaithseesGod,andGodsees faith."Thelistwouldbelengthyofthoseunseenbyman butseenbyGod,becausetheyprayedbelieving.
